Had our smart meters fitted by Martin. He was excellent. He was a pleasure to have in the house and worked above and beyond. He cleaned up afterwards and was extremely helpful and informative.

Smart Meter not very smart, fitter even less so

5 weeks ago, we had a new gas meter and a smart meter fitted and the smart meter has not worked since installation. My husband contacted our energy suppliers after 10 days and they were going to “look into it” and get back to us. 2 weeks later we made another call as no-one had bothered to call and this useless object is still sitting there doing nothing. Not impressed with the fitter. He couldn’t call out our name i.e., Mr or Mrs when he wanted something, he just kept bellowing out “HELLO” each time. Rude. Our electricity meter is, for some reason, in a cupboard in our dining room, so we rolled up the large rug covering the wooden floor, so that he didn’t put his boots all over it. Some other floors are tiled so not a problem – i.e., from the front door, where he was shown in. I was working outside, and the chap went back to his van a couple of times and then I didn’t see him and presumed he was working inside. It wasn’t until I went to go into our other entrance, having taken off my shoes, to find that he’d decided to take a quick route over the large Turkish rug in our hallway and was walking backwards and forwards over it with his boots. I couldn’t believe it and made him aware of the error of his ways. I think the company should supply the fitters with shoe covers to protect other people’s property – especially when they are like him. Not impressed. We were even less impressed when we walked outside after he’d departed, to find that he’d left the old meter and plastic rubbish strewn all over our path and the gas cupboard door with the key still in it, swinging backwards and forwards in the wind. Find another company if you can.

First Class Service Meter Installation

Although it has taken some time to get my meter fitted, I have to say the service I received from Brian who came out to fit the meter was excellent. He rang beforehand to say when he was coming. When he arrived he was extremely friendly and he fitted our meter professionally. There was a small problem which resulted in him having to stay to wait for our electrician. However this was not a bother to Brian as he just wanted to make sure everything was up and running and working properly. Thank you Brian.

Our smart meter was fitted today by…

Our smart meter was fitted today by Magnum on behalf of Igloo. The two workmen, Dave and Hasan 'phoned before arrival. They were both excellent. Left the job clean and tidy and were both pleasant and friendly. If the meter works as well as they did we will give it 110%! Fingers crossed!

Terrible service.

It took this company over 6months to replace my faulty meter. The new one was installed but the fitter said that it wouldn't connect to the system!That was two weeks ago and they still have not come back!!!

Useless Service 11 months of worthless promises

They fitted a Smartmeter and just left the in home device, this did not work. After contacting ESB and giving them details Magnum sent me a card saying they would refit the smart meter. They just did not turn up and when I phoned them they said ESB had cancelled the visit!!! Neither Magnum Utilities or ESB thought to inform me so they have completely wasted my time and I'm still left with a non-functioning device. I told them between Magnyum Utilities and ESB they could not organise a P*** Up in a Brewerey, which seems is a bit of an understatement.

Blame the tools - not the work-woman!

Tracy R was a marvellous advert for Magnum Utilities! She was efficient, cheerful and coped (with no complaints) at being in a tiny cupboard with a mask on. The same could not be said fo the equipment she installed: two of the smart gas meters she installed were duds so the job took her much more time than planned, so 2 cheers for Landis Gyr the manufacturers, and 3 for Tracy.

At 12:00 I was told that the engineer…

At 12:00 I was told that the engineer who had been scheduled to exchange our meters in the afternoon was unwell, and that the next appointment would be two months away. Finding this rather incredulous I spoke to a supervisor. 20 minutes later I was told an engineer who could attend later the same day had been found. About four hours later Dave arrived, having travelled some distance from his home patch. He couldn’t have been a better advert for Magnum, polite, friendly and clearly knowledgeable. Job took several hours into early evening but nothing was rushed. I would have given 5 stars but that would ignore the first engineer going off ill, still the weather had warmed up so that would have helped recovery.

Magnum Utilities wasted our time

Note, this is a genuine review. We have our Gas supply with Bulb, who use Magnum Utilities to maintain gas meters. A lot of staff time being wasted by Magnum utilities. The latest was 17 May 2021, 15:37 It's time consuming to arrange and cancel appointments with tenants. Magnum don't appear to care.
