Don't buy anything from their closing stores.

I'm pretty sure that this store doesn't care now because it's closing but I'm really upset about a purchase I made on Mothers Day 2025, not a happy one. I spent over $100 on faulty solar lights. None... See more

Don’t recommend

Don’t recommend Ordered from a Facebook ad and items arrived broken due to poor packaging. I drove 30 minutes to a store to return only to find that in spite of my order confirmation/ invoice showing how much I paid, the return was ringing up less. I was told they couldn’t over ride the system and I could either take the reduced refund or leave with my broken items and take it up with customer support 😡😡😡

I placed an order for some yarn and was charged the full amount of 28.94. Then today, I got an email stating that only part of my order was being shipped and there was another charge for that part of the order. I called the customer service number and was told that the original amount would be reversed in three - five days. They could have taken the amount they were shipping out of the original amount instead of charging me again and making me wait if they are really reversing the charge. I will not be ordering from JoAnn's again.

Read the sale signs in the store very carefully especially the fine print. I had some price discrepancies with some fabric and the manager was going to look at my receipts and get back with me. So far no response. I went in right after the store (Dunedin, FL) opened. Merchandise on the floor. Bolts of fabric in clearance on the floor to be run over by carts. Once there were about 12 shopping carts in the parking lot all night.

Would not honor my 20% off coupon Went to Joann‘s two days ago spent $80…

Went to Joann‘s two days ago spent $80 and couldn’t find my coupon. The girl said bring my receipt back and they would honor it if I found it went back yesterday. The little two year old store male manager told me that he could not do that (honor my coupon) so I had a few new items I was purchasing and I told him I had my coupon of 20%(The man rung it up and gave me the 20% off ) but you didn’t take my coupon. He said I don’t need it. I said why couldn’t the girl the other day do that, his answer was I can only do that and he was like he was God , no wonder they filing bankruptcy This was at the Quakertown store. You know Michael’s is right across the street and they’re three times the size I’ll just go over there

Ordering online is a nightmare

Ordering online is a nightmare. I put an order for some scissors for quilting. During the checkout process, after choosing to pay with PayPal, it automatically sent the order to old address with zero way to review before submitting. Attempting to contact support just got an automatic message saying that it can't be canceled or changed due to fraud, but replying back to the message, a person said can't be changed due to automation and I would have to wait for it to ship before I can get a refund. Ummm...no. Once it clears on PayPal's end, they are getting the emails in a dispute

A mess of a store

Joann continues to deteriorate to a messy flea market of junk. Pattern drawers not labeled with numbers. Every section a mess of unorganized cheap products. Hard to find anything. Poor or no service. The one in Livonia MI on Middlebelt may be the worst yet, and that’s hard to call since they are all so bad. I’d suspect a going out of business sale soon…

Joann's is a Figment of My Imagination

I can't even review the products yet because I haven't received them. I ordered a couple different craft items in mid March. Maybe I'm spoiled from using Amazon, but they didn't even start to fill the order for 10 days. Now it's shipped, and I realize that they don't have control of the shipper, but it's been 10 days since it shipped and it's still not here. I've forgotten what craft project I wanted to do at this point. Talk about sucking the life out of the excitement. Will not EVER use Joann's online again. I dread going into the local store because last time I did, it took me 45 minutes to get through the checkout line as every person had multiple coupons that were being discussed and processed, one person at the register and not one person to be seen on the floor. Wow. I have no idea why anyone uses this company anymore.

Online orders problematic

Online ordering was a nightmare. First order for store pickup, both items canceled. Second order for mail-to-home, one item canceled. It's been almost 2 weeks and the order has not even shipped yet. Retail store folks are sweet but stock is abysmal. Half of the shelves are empty in Portland, Oregon.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. My Mom wanted a new sewing machine so we went to our local Jo-Ann store. The only machines they have on display are the super expensive ones. Everything else was in boxes so you could only see a picture of it and read the highlighted features. The employees were standing around talking to each other and no one asked if we needed any assistance. We approached one of the employees and asked her if she could guide us to the best machine for our needs and she said “all I can do is help you read the box.” There was a sign above the sewing machines display saying “we hope you love your machine”… because they are not returnable if you open the box and decide you don’t like it. And if you buy it and don’t open it, you get to pay a $25 “restocking fee”. So, we went to Michael’s and bought a machine that we can return even if my Mom tries it and doesn’t like it.

Something is fishy

I'm glad I checked TrustPilot and I'm glad there IS a TrustPilot. I was excited to order over a dozen photo frames online during a big sale. I paid for my order, received a confirmation and waited for it to be delivered. After a week or so, I realized I had not received a shipping email message. I checked and found a message that went to my spam folder that indicated my order was canceled because my payment information could not "pass verification" or some ridiculousness like that. I immediately reached out to customer service to ask what the heck could not be verified. TWICE, they referred me to the refund department. Huh? I didn't need a refund. When I finally reached that group, they repeated the "pass verification" line. I asked, twice, WHAT could not be verified. I have excellent credit and have a shipping and billing address that are identical. WHAT could not be verified? If one incorrectly enters credit card information, the system lets you know so you can correct any mistake. I had none. I asked them to send me a screenshot of the issue, since I could have certainly made a mistake. But why did my purchase go through? I can't get a response. I suspect their low prices were too low or...well, I don't know. It's hard to make sense out of crazy. But I have never had a company say they couldn't verify information without letting me know WHAT they were unable to verify. I don't know who is behind the wheel there, but I'll not shop their site again. I was SO excited to find the frames I needed at good prices, but I consider the prices falsely advertised.

Zero Stars

Partner purchased some wool, but half of the shipment didn’t arrive. I see they have since stopped selling abroad, but after numerous emails to try and resolve they are trying to claim the correct order was sent. Would give them no stars if I could as I am now left out of pocket.

Avoid online orders!

Placed online order via their website for 14 items to be picked up at their nearest store. 4 hours later I received email that "part" of my order was ready. Jumping through their hoops and following "order detail" links I find that 13 of the 14 items ordered are not available and have been cancelled with refund pending. The single item that was available is pretty much useless without most of the unavailable items. In trying to just cancel the order I was told they can't/won't cancel orders. Come to the store, do the pick up for the single item, them immediately return it for a refund. That will involve a 40 mile trip wasting my time and gas. Tempted to just not pick single item up at all and see what happens after "will hold for 5 days" window but expect I'd get screwed out of my $12.99.

Just Opt Out

The thread section needs attention. Most choices are just empty, some coverd thick with dust. The same is true of most sections of needed notions. Cashiers are totally self absorbed high-school brats! I just won't put myself through the angst of dealing with Joanns anymore.

NEVER GOT HELP

I never got to shop here. I gotta kicked out of their website when I was ordering back on 12/18/23. My boss gave me a gift card of $50 and I decided to buy fabric on the site. Something happened with the website and it wouldnt let me purchase. I closed it out and retired the website again, but when I tried the gift card again the money was spent. I have reached out to customer service through email (as this is the only way to contact them) since 12/18/23 multiple times and they have refused to refund the gift card. I cannot and will not buy anything from them.

I only gave one star I wish I didn’t…

I only gave one star I wish I didn’t have to. I placed an order with PayPal once I completed the order I realized there was an address from 10 years ago listed. I did not use that address. I called Customer care immediately. Customer care refused to cancel the order although it did not ship yet. My issue is Joann is aware of this issue, There’s numerous complaints on BBB and other sites. Joanns has previously acknowledged this issue. It’s terrible they are gambling with efficiencies at the cost of the customer. Rather thank fix the issue they are just rolling the dice and the customer is assuming the risk.
