Iq complain

Iq heater complain This is Krishi Gada and I have booked a silver studio apartment (room no 483) at IQ city. I have already had problems with the Accomodation since day 1. I dint get my studio on time and I degraded my stay and adjusted for a week, cause I thought this was the beginning so there might be problems in the management staff. I dint complain as much that time, but it’s been more than a month now and yet there are a lot many issues which are happening at iq city. The heaters are not working at the entire Accomodation and it is a major issue as we are international students and we are not used to the cold weather here, and the weather you would know how is it in London. I was sick for almost 10 days here because of the cold weather here and got 104 fever as well. And it’s difficult to beat this cold when you are all alone and have to manage university and your daily routines. The staff down at the reception was also so rude. I think her name was Daydream or something like that she wasn’t saying her name, she was like I’m not the engineer here, this is not my work, I can’t help you and you have to wait. This is not the way you talk to people. For a matter of fact the staff at the reception is there to help you out but here at iq city I can’t dint anyone helpful. I went and talk to Joe as well in the office behind. He also started making faces and was like come in an hour. I don’t have the entire day just to get few minutes of their attention. And I have my university I need to study and do my assignments, you can’t expect me to come every hour and hear my complain. The laundry room was also not working for quite some time. I kept my clothes in the washer and then in the drier, my clothes were all wet. The drier wasn’t working. I again kept it for a second spin hoping it would work but it did not. I mean you are charging us and then too it’s not working. I’m wasting my money for no reason here. Down near the reception the table tennis table was also broken On weekends only the security team is down at the reception and they don’t have the authority to help you’ll with the stay. And on weekends students are available and they’re gonna stay in the Accomodation cause they have no university. The management team just comes from Monday to Thursday that too they come at 10-11am. I mean my university starts at 9am to 4pm. If I wanna talk to someone how should I contact them other than on weekends. I would like to please change the management and request you do give me compensation as I haven’t signed up for this service. I have had friends who stayed at IQ and they recommended me but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone as the service and management I couldn’t see of either. Also on the site it stated it had a gym, a terrace and a common area. I see that gym is under construction and the terrace is not accessible to us. If you can’t give the service to students please do not mention it on the site cause we are checking the site and then booking our room and paying so much money and it’s a waste. Please it’s a request either change me in some other iq branch or give me a 2-3 month compensation cause I am not paying so much money for nothing.

Disappointed

I wouldn't suggest booking here. The disorganization is embarrassing. Parcels are constantly lost and the staff at reception during the weekends is rude and unwilling to help. Truly a disappointing experience. Absolutley not worth the money.

DEBT & BAD SERVICE! AVOID THIS COMPANY IQ BIRMINGHAM

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! A month into my stay as a student at IQ Penworks Birmingham, the lady at the desk told me to change my IQ app email from my mums to mine so I could receive notifications and news updates directly. The lady changed it and that’s when things went downhill. The IQ app Is the ONLY METHOD TO PAY YOUR RENT. As the email changed I was now locked out of my account and multiple reset passwords never worked, my tenancy contract and payment system was gone and the account was wiped clean! This company never fixed the app from the start of living here therefore I could not pay for my rent! Every term when rent was due they harassed me despite me saying THE APP IS NOT WORKING. Multiple receptionists/managers told me IT are “looking into it” which was told to me for months! The reception team declined physical cheques and said they could not accept bank transfer either! So tell me HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO PAY MY RENT!? This all could have been resolved if they fixed my app yet I’ve been told for months and months that IT team are resolving it. LIES! NOW IVE LEFT, THEY'RE QUICK TO SEND DEBT COLLECTOR LETTERS YET COULD NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE AT THE TIME WHEN LIVING THERE. In addition, the high price you pay for how low standards the place is is appalling. 1. Rooms are way too hot and humid needs Air conditioning or able to open windows wider than 2cm! 2. Loud noises from the plumbing/toilets that were never resolved, making it hard to sleep due to consistent noise during the night (and day!) 3. Lifts broken for numerous weeks had to walk up several flights of stairs 4. Laundry facilities too expensive and the very annoying circuit app! 5. Street below is incredibly loud if you’re on the main road. 6. A lingering smell of weed throughout the building in the lifts, stairs and floors. 7. Parties in dorms & kitchen are not shut down by security so I had 20-30 18 year olds drugged up and extremely loud till stupid times in the morning, whilst I was trying to sleep next door.

I spent 2 years here and I'm disappointed.

I lived in an iQ accommodation for 2 years and while the room was a good size for money and fairly comfortable, I have a few complaints. The reception ladies in my 1st year were friendly and welcoming but they were replaced the following year. The ladies working there now are rude, lazy and unwelcoming. They claim reception is open from 8am-8pm Monday - Saturday but I have waited days sometimes to collect parcels because there isn't a staff member in the office. I didn't expect to have to work so hard to get post that belongs to me. When I moved into my room in September, it was dusty, the bathroom was filthy, and the blind was broken, despite being told my room had been 'professionally cleaned' and everything had been fixed. The maintenance team will fix about half of the things you report and the other half they claim to fix but are too lazy to do so. My blind was never fixed after reporting it several times throughout the year. And for the things they do fix, they come at the most inconvenient times (they woke me up every time). In a flat of 4 people we shared 1 fridge/freezer so two of our flatmates had to share a single freezer drawer. One of the reasons that I lived here was to use the extra facilities they have. The gym (although quite small) was adequate for my usage but the cinema room was locked because it had 'broken lights' all year and we didn't get to go in there once. The security guards clearly had favourites. He told us to turn off the TV at 9pm because it was too loud, but when I called about a party in our block that was keeping me awake at 3am he didn't even bother to have a look. The location was great being so close to university but there are other university accommodations in the same area which I'm sure care more about their tenant's wellbeing than iQ does.

All the HR (Head office) care about is your money. Not your welfare and stability. They dispose of their staff, get rid of them whenever they please, they don't care about there families they have back at home, just getting money from us students and paying out less to the staff. HR your morals are disgusting! Keep far away as possible from this Student Accommodation. BOOK SCAPE, that's where I'm transferring, they are not having my money if they get rid of all the best staff I am happy to pay for.

Tried to resolve they don’t even bother to contact you. Don’t put yourself through the horror of there rooms and out pressure on young Students trying to study. Just another update to this after being moved several times and told cockroaches are normal snd basically live with it. Deal with the upset, still no one will pick up a phone they all hide behind emails Faceless people who have no care for anybody they just take the money.

Terrible Move-In Experience

My contract for a studio apartment began September 11th and I arrived weeks later at my scheduled move-in time slot to be told my room wasn’t ready. Waited 13 hours at IQ in a temporary room with no way to leave to grab food since only the employees have a key to the temporary room. So unorganized and in the end no one communicated exactly why I was not allowed access to my studio that I had been paying for weeks prior to arriving in London. Very understaffed and overwhelming for everyone involved.

Never send your daughters to this…

Never send your daughters to this place 2 hope road manchester !! Last Saturday my daughter was staying there alone because of her summer job , all her flat mates had moved out. 4am in the morning somebody walked into her flat as all the senser lights came on .., she woke and heard footsteps in the hall way and heard keys rattling and a heavy foot steps walk around opening the doors , she said I could see the light under her door and a big man shoes stomping around , she was soo frightened and called the security team , the security team ended up going to a different flat through mis communication! She clearly told the security team which flat it is but knowbody came so she called again, after she called again the security man said I'm in yr flat now and my daughter replied u are not in flat so u have gone to the wrong place . My daughter rang each and everyone of her flat mates to ask if they came to the flat at any time of the night and they said no we didn't . The next day my daughter called me crying down the phone so l told her that I'm coming to pick her up ASAP. when l went to pick her up l went to the security room reception and asked them if they can check security cameras they said u have to wait until MGR is here. He said she will be here on Tuesday so come back then, in that time knowbody phoned to reassure us all give us any explanation that the matter is being dealt with urgently. On Wed which was just yesterday we went bk to the flat to get her belongings cus it was no longer safe being there . As we went upstairs the flat door was opened , and as we walked through the corridor to enter her room her flat bedroom door was also opened ! We ran downstairs and told security, they have logged it and said we will inform MGR , once again l am sat here waiting for a call buf nothing yet , we have decided to get the police involved to investigate this matter , because the security team are a bunch of retardants and don't give a dam about yr daughters well being.

I lived in IQ in both my 2nd and 3rd…

I lived in IQ in both my 2nd and 3rd year at university. I had a positive experience living there in my 2nd year so after alternative plans for accommodation fell through I was relived that there was still space for me to live in IQ. Unfortunately, during my final year my IQ experience was no longer as positive. There was a constant breech of contract with staff walking in unannounced. Sometimes staff have come it to do inspections then have claimed there are bin bags everywhere when the kitchen is spotless and threaten to charge us for cleaners. This was during the last 2 weeks of uni, since some of us were 3rd years and have lectures online this was highly unacceptable. During the summer, it was almost like the staff were treating us like we no longer live here. Maintenence would walk in my room unannounced while I was getting changed. And the staff would do tours with prospective students without out consent. Cleaners have been in the flat all the time without our consent, giving us dirty looks then gosping about us really loudly calling us "rude and obnoxious teenagers." This is highly unprofessional considering the residents of this flat are adults in our 20s and are paying thousands of pounds rent. One of the most concerning incidents was during the time staff were constantly unlocking my door and walking in, I went out only to come back to find some of my belonging missing. These items were part of my Nintendo Switch and some of my medication. I have Tourette's syndrome and I take diazapam to calm down violent tic attacks that can cause me to hurt myself. But this was stolen and the staff will not give it back. As a result, I had a violent tic attack in the night only for someone to make a noise complaint about me and security to shout at me for the attack making it worse. I have multiple injuries from this including a damaged wrist and bruises on my knees. I have had to wear pads on my knees because the attacks make me fall. I told IQ staff that I can hurt myself if I don't have my medication and not once did they show any bit of concern or check on my welfare. I am also feeling really anxious all of the time because of having strangers constantly walking in the flat. Once I went away for the week only to find that maintenence had been in my room (with no notice again) and taken loads of my things off my desk and put it all over the floor. Another issue I've had in IQ was being given a new flatmate with hardly any warning in January. This flatmate was an unknown male so we felt very uncomfortable considering 3 of the residents in the flat are females with mental health issues. While I understand that sometimes people might have to move in, the lack of notice was really distressing for the residents in the flat who already lived there. This flatmate also caused a lot of issues by shouting all night long and also mimicking my Tourette's and laughing. IQ just told us to make complaints to security if this was to happen but security would never do anything. He would also allow his friends to walk in during the lockdown which made me really anxious because I have a bad history with my health and I am very worried about how my body would react if I was to catch covid. His friends would also: walk into my room to cough on me, walk in my room to steal my toothbrush and write notes and stick them on my door. Once, we were left in out flat overnight with no access to water, despite it stating in our contract that IQ are required to give us access to clean water. This is a violation of a basic human right and there was no apology or form of compensation. They claimed there was water at reception, however they didn't have any until the water was back on again the next day and they didn't even have enough for everyone. Once, I received a letter and did not receive it for 4 weeks. This was a letter for an important appointment that I missed due to the negligence of IQ. I emailed to complain and never got a reply. It got to the stage where I did not feel like I can live here anymore so I am moving out earlier than I anticipated I would due to the stress. Do not assume your belongings will be safe in IQ. I am disappointed that I have had to write this review, especially since my first year in IQ was so positive. I am still waiting for IQ to address the issue regarding the trespassing of staff in student flats, the stolen medication and switch Dock.

Don’t waste your money here

The accommodation appearance is great but once you live here you’ll regret it the whole year. I’m appalled at the way I’ve been treated and the way this accommodation is run they don’t actually care about the students. They didn’t tell us about building work and then allowed it to start at 8 am when people have uni that day or even when people have been on night shifts that night and had only just got and then woken up by builders. I’ve had to live flats several times because iq wouldn’t deal with bullying or harassment by other student. Like I said they don’t care for there students. It’s all about money here you pay stupid prices to then have to pay £5 for washing each time you have a load and then you have to deal with all the sites things such as gym, community area being closed most of the time. Don’t get me wrong the staff can be ncie but the turn over of staff is ridiculous. Do not waste your money and live here.

unsatisfactory service, including theft and breach of contract.

My friend wont stop crying and complaining at me for the behaviour of the staff at this place. She has numerous health conditions such as Tourette syndrome and epilepsy and also has a specific learning difficulty. The staff at IQ stole her medication from her room even though she had proof of prescription. Due to the nature of the drug, the pharmacy wont allow her to get anymore as she had a months worth. This resulted in her having tic attacks where she hurt herself and couldn't get on with her day, or even prepare food for herself. Another thing that the staff did is they stole her Nintendo switch. They had no right to do this as the rent has been paid in full so they didn't need to take it in replace of her rent payment. If that wasn't bad enough, they have been entering her room for no good reason, at any time despite it saying in the tenancy agreement that there needs to be 24hrs notice, they haven't once given her the notice. When they have been in her room, they would take her things as mentioned above and then trash her room, throw things over her floor. A male member of staff entered her room while she was getting changed and didn't knock or give a good enough reason of why he entered her room. When she is under stress, her symptoms get worse leading to her injuring herself and panicking. I am in halls at a different university and i have never experienced this in my time. its expensive for what is is, staff are horrid and don't care about the students welfare they just taking money of them. My accomodation is a lot cheaper, it looks nicer, staff are brilliant, they always check on the students by ringing them and asking how they are doing, we get food hampers and free pizza on Wednesday nights, but IQ is the complete opposite to this. It is appalling, do not live here. Enter at your own risk

My daughter had no problems with IQ…

My daughter had no problems with IQ Salford accomodation in her 2nd year at Salford so booked to stay again in her third year. During her second year the flat upstairs played constant loud music making it very hard for her to complete assignments and sleep and security did very little to stop the noise but that is something no doubt common to a lot of student accomodation. Due to us completing house renovations my daughter needed to stay on at IQ , Salford but since she had paid rent until the end of August this is her right. My daughter has a number of health issues including epilepsy and Tourette's. Her Tourette's becomes quite serious when she's under a lot of stress and can lead to fix attacks during which she can become harmed. Over the last few weeks the staff at IQ have been walking into the flat and individual rooms without giving the legally required notice. They have been threatening to charge for cleaning which they did not even complete. Male staff have walked in on my daughter while she has been getting dressed. Staff have trashed my daughters belongings throwing things all over the floor while she has been out. My daughter has diazapane for the more serious tic attacks. She doesn't often need it but the stress has caused her tics to be much worse. In her absence the other week staff walked into her room and stole possessions and her diazapane. The GP cannot give her more yet as it was a new prescription and she can't order more for a month. My daughter approached IQ about it but they have not been helpful and they are also trying to claim her possessions aren't insured on the policy even though that is supposed to be one if the things provided by IQ. The other morning my daughter contacted me distraught as she'd had a bad fix attack in the night. The people from the flat above complained to security and security came and shouted at her making it worse. They wouldn't listen when she tried to explain it was a health condition for which she has evidence. The tic attack 2ould not of been prolonged if reception had not taken her medication. Reception are no longer answering her emails or speaking to her about the issue. They are refusing to resolve anything. They also refused to let the police see the CCTV to see who might have stolen from her. Since the end of term the staff have been an absolute disgrace and should be ashamed of themselves. It's a disgrace that they would take a vulnerable young adult's medication like this. DO NOT trust the staff at Salford IQ. Do not assume your possessions are safe locked in your room as they are not.
