My daughter had no problems with IQ…
My daughter had no problems with IQ Salford accomodation in her 2nd year at Salford so booked to stay again in her third year. During her second year the flat upstairs played constant loud music making it very hard for her to complete assignments and sleep and security did very little to stop the noise but that is something no doubt common to a lot of student accomodation. Due to us completing house renovations my daughter needed to stay on at IQ , Salford but since she had paid rent until the end of August this is her right. My daughter has a number of health issues including epilepsy and Tourette's. Her Tourette's becomes quite serious when she's under a lot of stress and can lead to fix attacks during which she can become harmed. Over the last few weeks the staff at IQ have been walking into the flat and individual rooms without giving the legally required notice. They have been threatening to charge for cleaning which they did not even complete. Male staff have walked in on my daughter while she has been getting dressed. Staff have trashed my daughters belongings throwing things all over the floor while she has been out. My daughter has diazapane for the more serious tic attacks. She doesn't often need it but the stress has caused her tics to be much worse. In her absence the other week staff walked into her room and stole possessions and her diazapane. The GP cannot give her more yet as it was a new prescription and she can't order more for a month. My daughter approached IQ about it but they have not been helpful and they are also trying to claim her possessions aren't insured on the policy even though that is supposed to be one if the things provided by IQ. The other morning my daughter contacted me distraught as she'd had a bad fix attack in the night. The people from the flat above complained to security and security came and shouted at her making it worse. They wouldn't listen when she tried to explain it was a health condition for which she has evidence. The tic attack 2ould not of been prolonged if reception had not taken her medication. Reception are no longer answering her emails or speaking to her about the issue. They are refusing to resolve anything. They also refused to let the police see the CCTV to see who might have stolen from her. Since the end of term the staff have been an absolute disgrace and should be ashamed of themselves. It's a disgrace that they would take a vulnerable young adult's medication like this. DO NOT trust the staff at Salford IQ. Do not assume your possessions are safe locked in your room as they are not.
