DEBT & BAD SERVICE! AVOID THIS COMPANY IQ BIRMINGHAM
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! A month into my stay as a student at IQ Penworks Birmingham, the lady at the desk told me to change my IQ app email from my mums to mine so I could receive notifications and news updates directly. The lady changed it and that’s when things went downhill. The IQ app Is the ONLY METHOD TO PAY YOUR RENT. As the email changed I was now locked out of my account and multiple reset passwords never worked, my tenancy contract and payment system was gone and the account was wiped clean! This company never fixed the app from the start of living here therefore I could not pay for my rent! Every term when rent was due they harassed me despite me saying THE APP IS NOT WORKING. Multiple receptionists/managers told me IT are “looking into it” which was told to me for months! The reception team declined physical cheques and said they could not accept bank transfer either! So tell me HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO PAY MY RENT!? This all could have been resolved if they fixed my app yet I’ve been told for months and months that IT team are resolving it. LIES! NOW IVE LEFT, THEY'RE QUICK TO SEND DEBT COLLECTOR LETTERS YET COULD NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE AT THE TIME WHEN LIVING THERE. In addition, the high price you pay for how low standards the place is is appalling. 1. Rooms are way too hot and humid needs Air conditioning or able to open windows wider than 2cm! 2. Loud noises from the plumbing/toilets that were never resolved, making it hard to sleep due to consistent noise during the night (and day!) 3. Lifts broken for numerous weeks had to walk up several flights of stairs 4. Laundry facilities too expensive and the very annoying circuit app! 5. Street below is incredibly loud if you’re on the main road. 6. A lingering smell of weed throughout the building in the lifts, stairs and floors. 7. Parties in dorms & kitchen are not shut down by security so I had 20-30 18 year olds drugged up and extremely loud till stupid times in the morning, whilst I was trying to sleep next door.
