Lifesaver for remote location

Our business is located in a very rural area where other providers don't reach. HughesNet has been essential for keeping us connected. The speeds are decent for satellite internet and customer service has been helpful when we've had questions. Weather can occasionally affect the signal but that's expected with satellite.

Expensive but necessary

The service itself is reliable but the cost adds up quickly, especially if you go over your data limit. For a small business, the monthly fees are significant but we don't have other viable options in our area.

Reliable internet for our rural office

We've been using HughesNet for our small business for over two years now. The connection is consistent and works well for our daily operations including email, video calls, and file uploads. Installation was professional and the technician explained everything clearly. Only downside is the data caps can be restrictive during busy months.

Solid choice for rural businesses

Been using this service for 18 months now and it's been dependable. Speeds are consistent throughout the day which is important for our consulting work. The weather protection plan gives peace of mind during storm season.

Good option when you have limited choices

We switched to HughesNet after our previous provider became unreliable. The satellite connection is much more stable and customer service actually responds when you need help. Data limits can be frustrating but the bonus zone hours help offset that somewhat.

Adequate for basic business use

Works fine for email and web browsing but struggles with large file transfers. The monthly data allowance fills up quickly if you're not careful. Price is reasonable considering it's our only option out here.

Exceeded expectations

I was skeptical about satellite internet but HughesNet has performed better than expected. We run video conferences regularly and rarely have issues. The built-in Wi-Fi modem is convenient and setup was straightforward.

Review summary

Reviewers generally find HughesNet to be a reliable option for satellite internet, especially in rural areas where other providers may not be available. Many customers appreciate the dependable service and consistent speeds, which are crucial for business operations like video calls and online retail. Positive feedback highlights good customer support and straightforward billing, with some users noting that the service exceeds expectations. However, a common complaint is the high cost associated with the service, particularly regarding data caps that can lead to significant overage fees. While the internet works well for basic tasks, some users mention struggles with larger file transfers and latency during peak hours. Overall, HughesNet is seen as a solid choice, albeit an expensive one for small businesses.
