Hotel Chocolat Reviews

Ordered on line previously and experienced no problems. This time I ordered 4 boxes of hot chocolate - approx £60 worth of goods. The individually wrapped hot chocolate in 2 of the boxes were completely fused, meaning that they can not go through the velvetiser as it makes a horrendous noise, needs to go through twice, and frankly I’m scared it will break the velvetiser. With one box I ended up bashing each of the sachets with a rolling pin first before using them into the velvetiser, but then moved to breaking up the sachet (essentially a “bar” of chocolate) and putting it in the microwave before going into the velvetiser. The second box is even more of a block of chocolate than the first. It’s a bit of a pain tbh! Don’t think I would order on line again, buying from the retail shop seems like a better idea.

Left on the doorstep in 23 degrees and hot sunshine, without even bothering to ring the bell ( I was in!) and totally ignoring the sign on the package saying not to leave in direct sunlight. Fortunately I happened to see them before they melted. I love HC products but they need to do better than use Amazon for deliveries.

Chocolates were lovely. A great selection of vegan chocolates and lovely as a little gift. Delivery service could be better. Doorbell pressed and before we made it to the door they had put the box in our recycling bin. Not the first time we have lost parcels this way due to coinciding with bin collection dates.

This company should be thinking of how to transport chocolate's in extreme heat. The birthday box arrived on the 10/7/2025. It was delivered by Amazon and left in the porch entrance. They were put in the fridge as his birthday wasn't till next week and the weather was 32 degrees. On opening on his birthday all of the chocolates and centres had melted. A bit disappointing. I know you can't control the weather. But I don't think I'd order chocolates via mail again as the presentation of these chocolates were not as expected.

Nice product but at a high price and being a subscribed member gets you no discount other than free delivery. I recently moved house and changed my address on the website, app and on all the subscriptions and yet 2 weeks later my subscription still arrived at my old address. When contacting hotel chocolate they said they couldn't do anything to help other than give me free delivery on my next subscription order which you already get anyway!! Pretty rubbish service really. Another subscription didn't get processed at all as there was an issue with the payment; rather than trying the transaction again like any other company, the order simply ceased to exist. Will not be using them again.

Just like Liga Eile-Parker and on the same day and approximately the same time the Amazon delivery was 'delivered' by a male person who couldn't be bothered to wait a few seconds until I opened the front door. I saw him arrive, he pressed the doorbell and then left the package on the doorstep. I will not be selecting the Amazon method in future. It was also raining during the afternoon, one of the couldn't care less delivery people!

I regularly send chocolate gifts from Hotel Chocolat. I am kept updated as to the progress of the package and it arrives in the time frame expected. I obviously do not sample them, but the ones I buy are fab.

As always, there is nothing wrong with the product - I have been a customer for years, and love the chocolates. BUT as other reviewers have said, using Amazon to deliver is a bad choice! I was in when the package was delivered, but the driver just left the package on the doorstep, took a photo, and then rang the doorbell and walked away. By the time I got there, he was back in his van, leaving a package that clearly states “do it leave in direct sunlight” outside an open doorway (i.e. no porch or cover) and in full view of the street.

Love your products coffees and hot chocolates , I have a monthly subscription which I am very pleased with . However this time not really pleased with delivery ( Amazon) ! Had a message on my phone to say it had been delivered and left at the back door , this was not the case as it was left at the front door in full view of anyone passing by ! The back door was open and I was in the house at the time ! A knock on the door would have been nice !

Very impressed that my order to my sister in law for her 90th birthday arrived on the day and she was delighted.

Slow dispatch and delivery. Happy birthday chocolates nearly didn't make the day :(

High quality products which everyone that I have gifted found great. From my own perspective I have found that gifting Hotel Chocolate products for birthdays and anniversaries to be a simple and effective solution. Perhaps too easy but certainly saves me a lot of time and energy.

I do love Hotel Chocolat. I ordered the Ice Cream Swirls as a thank you gift to my bruv. He said they were so delicious, I had to try them so I treated myself to a box too. The price was... reasonable... for the luxury of the chocolates, brand, the care and attention to detail, the service, the glamness of what came with it - the personalised note held withing a dainty, cute - yet sophisticated envelope. My bruv was thrilled, I was thrilled, the Ice Cream Swirls not only looked amazing, they also tasted amazing. A super treat. We must treat ourselves and enjoy some luxury sometimes.
