The chocolate is no longer the same quality: it tastes cheap but at a luxury price. Unlikely to buy again. It seems sadly you can't have quality and chase a large market share.
4 packets of my velvetiser sachets the assorted packets have a best by date of next month as a pensioner living alone it is a lot to use up. chocolate itself is first class
We have subscribed 50% milk and chocolate mocha for a few years now and we are still enjoying the drink.
The only down side had been one time when the drinks were on offer 2 for £25, this offer was not passed on to us who bought the subscription.
I am editing this review. A big thank you to Hotel chocolate who have kindly resolved this despite the issue being with the courier. ( I thought I was leaving the review on the courier site doh) I ordered this to be delivered through Amazon. They have said it’s been delivered and it hasn’t. Father’s Day gift !
If you can't control your couriers I won't buy your products
The courier made no attempt to knock on the door or ring the doorbell and left my chocolates in the one bright sunny spot he could find on my doorstep.

Decided late Friday afternoon I needed some delicious chocolates delivering Saturday and wanted to use PayPal credit to purchase. Found the website, excellent selection of top quality chocolates, could get the delivery and payment method I needed, my first purchase, they arrived beautifully packaged and taste great, will be ordering again soon!!
The parcel arrived but yet again not on the day booked - I paid extra for the next day delivery!
This is not the first time that the delivery has been messed up.
The product is good but the delivery service is unreliable
Never again will I be buying anything from hotel Chocolat that needs to be delivered. The company that they use is Amazon and they must employ the worst driver ever. The parcel was just dumped on my doorstep without even knocking or ringing the bell. All I got was a message saying 'doorstep'. For obvious reasons I didn't want it leaving outside and didn't ask for that. The parcel even says 'do not leave in direct sunlight '. Total and utter disrespect for myself and for my parcel. The driver will no longer be welcome at my property.
My problem was delivery. I ordered as usual via your website on a Monday allowing I thought plenty of time before my Granddaughter's birthday the following w/e.
Talk about touch & go. Seem to take ages before they left you depot then delivered by Amazon (not a problem for me) but not next day delivery still waiting by Friday, arrived. Had I realised that I would have ordered via Amazon in the first place free next day delivery with Amazon Prime.Moonpig seem to get it right as well. Love the product but may go to Amazon first the next time I order.

I went & spent a couple of days with my 90 year old mother & took my Velvetiser with me so she could try it.
She said she’d like to try the chilli chocolate so I went online on Wednesday & ordered 2 boxes to be delivered on Thursday.
I received email saying it would be delivered Friday which was no good as I was leaving at 10.30am on Friday.
So now I have to spend time making calls to complain for something I paid for & didn’t receive on the day it should have arrived.
My daughter in law introduced me to the delights of the velvetiser. I was smitten straight away. I promptly purchased one and ordered the white hot chocolate powder. So yummy 😋 I also ordered a selection box. Can’t wait to try those out !!
I bought 2 packs of both the 'succulent' rum soaked chocolate covered sultanas and the 'succulent' kirsch soaked cherries on the strength of having been gifted a box of the chocolates 2 months ago. Sadly these were only flavoursome but really quite dry and very disappointing so that was definitely not £40 well spent! I don't think they could have been stored or shipped as well as the alcohol was definitely missing. The delivery was late and the hours changed during the day and then went off the radar completely. This was particularly annoying as I was trying to avoid them being left outside my front door as it was South facing and warm! Delivery was originally to be netween 2.45pm and 5pm and they finally turned up at 7.37pm.
Dismal disappointing service. Rarely do I have to complain regarding the delivery of products, but my experience in this instance was dismal. I have family members who were due to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary (5th June 2025) so I ordered a box of chocolates for delivery on their big day, with extra payment to ensure it arrived on/by the day and chose the ‘Anniversary’ gift box/sleeve. A day before its scheduled arrival I received an email/text to say it wouldn’t be delivered until Friday 6th June due to the courier (Amazon) having transit problems. I wrote (email) to Hotel Chocolat customer services in complaint, to which they replied with an apology and refund of my delivery charge. Some would say well that’s good, but the impact of not having the gift delivered completely ruined my desired gesture and surprise. A £4.95 refund was equally like placing a tiny plaster over a large gapping wound. Would we expect an undertaker to turn up at a funeral the following day, a removal company to turn up a day after a house completion or a taxi to turn up 24 hrs after booking it. They arrived a day late. Hotel Choclate hoped that when I receive the chocolates they taste good, no doubt they will, but I am left with nothing but a bitter taste.
