Hotel Chocolat Reviews

This review is nothing to do with the quality of service and goods from Hotel Chocolat. However, the delivery was unacceptable. It is not a successful delivery to leave a box of chocolates on my south-facing front doorstep when the box would go through the letterbox, or be left on the easily accessible back doorstep.

Royal Mail didn't successfully deliver them, they left them on doorstep in direct sunlight even though a message on box said not to do that. Half the chocolates had melted.

Good website, easy ordering, prompt dispatch—BUT: The Amazon delivery was unsatisfactory! My parcel was left just inside the common entranceway on the ground floor, near the flat door of flat number 1!! My apartment is number 4 on the 1st floor. Amazon drivers do not care to deliver to the front door of each apartment/flat. The parcel was left at the Flat ! door, and NOT at the door to Flat 4, Each flat/apartment has a large brass numeral on the entrance door. Everybody else delivers to the correct, individual, flat door (posties, other deliverymen), Amazon pops deliveries just inside the common entryway door on the ground floor!! (Saves their time/energy>)

I got these for a present and they are a lovely variety of chocolates ,and arrived spot on time for his birthday Thank you .

Saw the chocolates in Hotel Chocolate in Skipton I ordered on line for friends birthday and they arrived on time and she loved them.

Wonderful service at Hotel Chocolate Harrogate. Poppy took care of us at the cafe and chocolate checkout, very friendly and helpful.

Easy website Good quality chocolates

Delicious chocolat and inventive flavours but I was disappointed to find that, despite the change from tins for the Easter Eggs to sustainable cardboard packaging, the tins of chocolate rabbits contained individually plastic wrapped pieces of chocolate.

Not got my order. Don't know were it is not be delivered to my address. Can you look into for me please.

I had specifically asked for a date for delivery, it came 4 days early and over the weekend. We were away, and I had to arrange for a separate collection with a neighbour, who fortunately was in.

It is entirely due to your customer service agent Jessica that my box of Chocolates was delivered at all. I phoned and left many messages 4 days before the parcel was despatched from Hotel Chocolat and spoke to numerous people who assured me the wrong address had been altered to the correct one. I was assured that it was going to the correct address by an email from you. But when I checked with Amazon shipping the address still had not been changed. I phoned again and was assured that Amazon had been reached out to and the address had been altered. However the next tracking information I recieved was still for the incorrect address. As the merchandise I was giving as a present was quite expensive, I was by this time very worried. I spoke to an agent called Gabriel who showed no empathy and addressed me by my first name without asking if I minded that, displayed no sympathy and no real concern. It was only because I had the luck to speak to Jessica an amazing member of your team who immediately was very concerned and solved my problem straight away by arranging a replacement to be sent to the correct address I owe her many many thanks she is an absolute 🌟 star. The original order Amazing shipping delivered it to the wrong address and the shipping/delivery information they gave was that it was left 'somewhere near the garden' really not good enough very bad service from them so it wasn't given to anyone just left carelessly outside somewhere

Ruined a birthday surprise due to late delivery.

Was celebrating a ‘big’ birthday and my hubby took me shopping. I was delighted to receive an email from Hotel Chocolate wishing me happy birthday and giving me a £5 voucher for a free chocolate treat. The voucher said I had to spend a minimum of £5.50 to get the £5 discount. I was happy with that so we paid our Cribbs Causeway store a visit. I chose some chocolates and was told that as they cost £5.45 I would need to spend 5p more to get my £5 discount. I asked what was the cheapest thing I could buy and was told that nothing in the store cost less than £5.45. So on principle I politely expressed my dissatisfaction and left the store unhappy. If your cheapest chocolates are £5.45, why do I have to spend £5.50 to get the offer not £5.45? I’m diabetic and usually buy Hotel Chocolate as gifts for other people, so was looking forward to some good quality 70% chocolate as a treat all for myself - I didn’t want to have 2 packets. If you want to offer me a buy two get £5 off then just tell me that upfront! Enticing me in for a free product when I have to spend the same amount again is misleading and a sneaky thing to do!
