    Air Con Service Ford Farnborough

    Group 1 Ford Farnborough - I had a new Air Con compressor fitted to my Ford Fiesta a year ago at a cost of £475, as my air conditioning was not working. After the replacement, the aircon functioned again, but despite very little use since then, it has now failed once more. I contacted Farnborough to have it inspected and to understand why it has failed again so soon. I also wanted to see if a pressure test could be conducted. However, I was informed that I would need to pay an additional £120 just to have the same issue looked at. I find this extremely frustrating, as I am simply trying to determine why the air con has failed so quickly. This level of customer service is disappointing, and it’s clear why many people choose to avoid main dealerships. UPDATE - They offered to look at it and charge me £60 for the privilege. All i want is for them to take a look and tell me why it happened again so quickly after barely being used. To charge me to give this info is a rip off. DO NOT USE THIS GARAGE for servicing or maintenance as they are not to be trusted.

    Awful experience

    Awful, clear fault with my brand new Tiguan infotainment system and was told no fault was found and to take to another dealership. No response from dealership now and won’t return calls.

    Excellent

    Excellent. My contact was Marc who was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. From start to finish he kept me up to date on progress with my car order. This was via video message, email or phone. When collecting my new car, Marc answered all the questions we had. He went through the settings on the car and connected my phone and got me set up on the Mercedes App. The experience has been A1 and I would highly recommend Mercedes, Marc and all the team.

    Went for an MOT,I dropped my car at…

    Went for an MOT,I dropped my car at 8am, Had a service before, came back with back break pads needed doing, as they was worn. I was quoted £369.00 for the back break pads. I said will my car fail the MOT if I don’t get them done. Said it wouldn’t fail. I said I would leave it as I had work at 4pm and probs wouldn’t be able to make it to pick it up, so I would come back and get them done, they said it wouldn’t take long to do as their in stock! And could be done before 1/2pm, I said go on then get them done. Was offered a payment plan, which I declined as I just wanted it paid off. I didn’t get any phone calls to say the car was done. I rang at 2:30pm, was told it was just getting the MOT done. So I headed there to pick it up, paid a taxi, I got there for 3:10pm. Was told it was gone be another 40mins yet, I said I was told between 1/2pm she explained putting back break pads on was hard to do. I said I appreciate that, but I was told 1/2 that’s why I wasn’t going to get them done, and wait till I had time. So I ended up being late for work and had to pay more travel fares, and come back the next day to collect. Wasn’t the best experience.

    Emergency tyre replacement

    Leaving a hotel car park I discovered I had a flat rear tyre (yet another nail). I managed to get to the centre and received an excellent welcome, replacement of the rear tyres within 2hours, and even a room to do my 10;00am call. Really excellent service which ensured I could get back to Oxford on time. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or use again. The facility is super.

    Excellent Experience MB as a result of…

    I initially contacted MB as a result of being unable to open my petrol cap when trying to fill the car with petrol. I received a health check, Valet/Car wash and petrol cap issue was resolved with new actuator. Adrian very kindly explained the findings of the health check and informed me of my service date in May. All in all as a new MB owner from October last year I was very impressed with the service provided.

    Group1 Staples Corner is ridiculous…

    Group1 Staples Corner is ridiculous with service and especially manager who does not have even a little etiquette to respond to an email. I bought a Defender 8 months back and alarm goes off every night. 3 times the car has been in service and still the same issues. The people are like mercenaries and I think the lowest grade of behaviour and professionalism is taught to them. An expensive car and such a service. DO NOT GO TO GROUP 1 STAPLES CORNER. Buy car from anywhere but not from them. It is my hard earned money which they took like a fraudsters. From deep inside core of my heart came curse for the people who treated this badly..so much is bad feeling for them. How these sales people can be so ruthless and heartless and still can eat and sleep. 1 star is too much. Negative 5 stars My case is with JLR Coventry and Motor Ombudsman. Hope they will be able to resolve.

    Expensive failed repair

    As soon as you enter the premises at Slyfields Industrial Estate in Guildford, the impression created is of high quality: sliding doors, comfortable chairs, free coffee, free wifi. Everything that a Jaguar owner would seem to merit, right? The staff are very polite, too: charming even..! Sadly, the actual work that they do is poor quality and extremely expensive. My Jaguar xe had compression issues, which resulted in one of the injectors blowing off on the A3, which was fun..! The cost to fix these issues was (wait for it) £11,526. After much consideration and the assurance that after the work, the car would "work perfectly", I went ahead with the work. Sadly, the issues recurred (loss of power, fumes filing the cabin, warning light etc) within a month. The response: a new quote to fix the issue...! When I complained, they met with me, but no further offer, remedy or compensation was offered. Since then: nothing, so I have been obliged to take legal action. By the way, this garage is not part of the Motor Ombudsman scheme, either.

    The overall end-to-end experience of purchasing my new car was very pleasant, from the valuation of my old car, to the explanation of the costs, benefits (free service, low APR % and dealership / manufactures financial contribution) to the electronic approvals, signatures and approvals was simple, easy to follow , and all costs were very clearly broken down line by line. Along with a no pressure approach from the sales agent, it added to the overall very customer focused experience.

    The visit itself was great but….

    The visit itself was great. 5 out of 5. Olivia and Ellen really looked after me and the car was serviced and had front tyre changes. Couldn’t have faulted it, also got a car to use whilst it was being done - top visit. However…unfortunately I seem to have developed a tyre pressure issue in the tyres that were replaced. 1 week on I find myself still re inflating. Left worse than right. When I call to ask them to check I get told I have to pay a further £115 for a health check on the tyres. They replaced them less than a week ago. I asked not they could check them and if by some coincidence the both tyres were faulty due to punctures caused by my driving etc then would pay the check and the replacement £64 odd per tyre. However if it was due to poor fitting / tyre issue that is beyond my control then I do not feel I should pay the £115 health check. I was told this is not possible and any charges would need to be incurred by me. I am really sad to say that despite the excellent service experience on the day their follow up care is not all it is cracked up to be and due to this probably won’t be using them again for my service. Don’t mind paying extra to get a good experience but that includes the follow up care if something isn’t right. I shouldn’t have to pay to find out if it is their fault or not and incurring charges that won’t be refunded if it is. Sorry Shrewsbury team it was good whilst it lasted.

    Tiny Ding £2980 quoted, Got it done elsewhere £200

    what can you say I had a small ding/dent in my skoda kodiaq. I took it to auto1 group in Norwich. They tried to get me to go through my insurance, But the ding was no more than 8 inches x 4 inches.. I said please quote me without going via insurance .. The quote they sent me was for £2980.00.. complete RIP OFF. insurance companies beware.. I took it to a local trades person £200 pound later I have my car back, can not even see the difference. looks like new.. Group 1 is why all our insurance premiums are going up..
