    SLC 250d came in for recall updates.

    Mercedes Group 1 Cheshire oaks chester . SLC 250d came in for recall updates.. I ticked the pre check in box to have car cleaned too. Car went into Limp mode.. I was advised it would be £210 to have diagnostic check.. I asked if there could be some leeway on cost as specialist charges £108. I was told Manager was in a meeting and couldn't advise.. I asked if I went ahead couldn't keep the courtesy car as diagnostic check couldn't be done til next day. I was advised uku don't allow courtesy cars to go out overnight. I took the decision to drive car at 5mph home which took an hour.. the car was never washed either. I also mentioned I would be interested in a service pack.. but I was not offered anything.. I now have car booked into Specialist and will continue with them

    Incredibly poor service

    Incredibly poor service. No communication when my car was kept for 3 days. No one actually looked at my car until the final day. There is still a braking issue with the car that should have been looked in to more. I was told that one of the tyres was cut to the cords and would fail a mot. This was checked by a tyre company and there was no such problem, only two small imbedded stones. Trying to get hold of the service department was nigh on impossible by phone as it would just ring and ring. No one would return my phone calls. The car has now been booked in to Vines in Guildford for a full brake problem investigation as the car still feels unsafe. I will never use group 1 again to buy or service our 4 cars that we have again after this complete shambles.

    New car review

    My experience with group 1 in Preston was amazing. I used Brandon in sales who helped me find a suitable car for my needs and well within budget. I definitely recommend Brandon when purchasing a new car as he has great knowledge and experience! Very quick service!

    Brighton Mini pushy sales experience

    Joshua Rayment at Group 1 Mini in Brighton was very pushy Came across as very nice the first time I dealt with him, and nothing was too much trouble, even a discount on the overall finance figures! Second time I dealt with him, he was rude and blunt, and told me there was no give on the finance figures this time .. Typical car sales man looking out for himself, and no interest to look after the customer. I am glad I didn’t go ahead and purchase the car, because I am sure I would have had no help if I had any issues ..

    Superb service …

    I am always treated well by the staff James and Karen. My experience in leaving my car and being clearly explained what the outcome of the work is required. Never feeling pressured to make a decision. Karen always ensuring that I am comfortable where I am sat working whilst waiting for my car and checking if I need any further refreshments. Always good to get the video report on the car. Do thank James and Karen and the hidden person who cleans my car. 🙏🏽

    Alan was excellent

    My contact at the dealership on Monday 10th was Alan , he was excellent in booking my car in on the day and was very professional and helpful , albeit I had a feeling that vehicles booked in after mine at 08.15 am, were given priority, this dealership is obviuosly trying hard to improve levels of customer service and customer experience and is vastly different from a couple of years ago, but they still have a way to go , but the changes genuinely are appreciated

    Happy to take your money!

    On 07/01/25 I paid a £100 deposit via BMW approved site for a used X3, on sale with Group 1 Brighton. A few hours later a guy called me to inform me the vehicle was sold and I shouldn’t have been able to place a deposit on it. I asked about my deposit and he said “don’t worry, we won’t take your money”. I checked my credit card a week later and noticed the payment kept reading “pending”, then on 20/01/25 I noticed the payment had gone through. I rang the Brighton depot and spoke to Daniel Harman who said the person who took my deposit had only lasted a week in his job, Daniel informed me he would deal with my situation and my refund would be paid back. On 01/02/25 I checked my card account again and got annoyed since my refund still had not been issued. I called and got messed around, no one was answering the phones and I eventually spoke to someone in reception who said they would contact the accounts department. To date I’d had no response from anyone at this company. I rang one last time on 12/02/25 to let them know I was going to file a claim with Barclaycard since my refund still had not been processed. I spoke to Daniel Harman personally and relayed my message and he responded with “ok then”. I won’t be purchasing a car from here or using other Group 1 dealers again in the future, I’ve seen firsthand what their customer service is like rectifying their own mistakes.

Having just lost my father, it was a particularly difficult time for me, but Will, the salesman, was incredibly sympathetic and understanding.     Disgraceful customer service

    I think the service department needs a comprehensive overhaul and staff retraining is a must. The rudeness I experienced is unforgivable and should never be repeated. It seems if you challenge anything you are immediately talked over and no notice is taken of your genuine concerns. I'm disabled and waiting to go into hospital for major surgery, my vehicle is my lifeline to the outside world. I use the satnav extensively but now have to rely on my mobile phone and Google maps which for an £80K + vehicle is unacceptable. A full overhaul and retraining program of your Norwich facility is required. For your information I was CEO of a telecoms Plc for 20 years. I know all about organising customer service in order to achieve customer satisfaction.

    Great service

    Great service . My service advisor , Olivia Kemps was marvellous. Very attentive , and clear and precise communication. The service was completed in very quick time too and the hire car was great too .

    Not done what was asked

    Not done what was asked. I have twice had a fault saying oil too high. I have never put oil in and a quick google states its common fault on VWs. Lo and behold, I’m now out of warranty and will need a part I am sure. It states on my worksheet that the oil emptied and topped back up. I’ll give it a few months and it will come back on at which point I will insist it’s fixed properly and I’ll have to now pay. I also got a complimentary health check which is very kind, but not needed as it’s recently been serviced. What I would say is the chap talking in the video is completely unintelligible. I’ve no clue what he said as he was speaking so quickly. A waste of everyone’s time and energy. I took a days leave and I could honestly not be more frustrated. The lady I spoke to was just rude when I asked if the work had been done to fix the issue. Not good and a days leave wasted.
