I am suing! PONZI SCHEME!
BEWARE!!! I have to tell my mother’s story. My mom fell in love with this house. She was extremely excited to rent this house through Great Jones Property Management. She applied for a property through Great Jones on 2/4/22 and received a APPROVAL EMAIL FROM THE COLUMBIA SC OFFICE ON 2/7/22 saying next steps upload the paystubs etc… She did it the SAME DAY & and we have email proof. At this point all was well so we THOUGHT! The approval email prompted my mom to proceed with selling her house due to downsizing. NEEDLESS TO SAY a little over a week went by my mom calls GREAT JONES and a representative reinsured us that everything was received. He stated “ that my mom should receive her next steps by the end of the week and move in by on on the 1st of March”. I called yesterday 2/15/22 around 2:45pm because the deadline for her moving is getting closer and still nothing has been done on Great Jones end. This time I’m told by a female representative “that the place is now Unavailable”! I asked how when my mother was approved for that house and waiting on Y’all for the NEXT STEPS. I was told someone put a deposit down and it was no longer on the market. It seemed so FISHY AND UNPROFESSIONAL. I then asked so what now?! She stated “it’s transferable and recommended another home. I set up a walk through as soon as a got off the phone, for the home recommended. THIS IS WHERE IT GOT DANGEROUS! I pulled up to check it out with my mom and the bolt locked it broken, the key is missing, the windows is open and lights on. Upon pulling up I didn’t notice it was only after walking up on the house did we realize the potential danger. The house is being used as a trap house. IT GETS BETTER. The GREAT JONES RECEPTIONIST LIED. THE HOUSE MY MOM APPLIED FOR US STILL AVAILABLE AND ON THE MARKET ON MULTIPLE SITES. At this point if anyone deserves to get that house it should be my mom. I’ve contacted rently as well as Great Jones and nothing has been done I do plan to give them a chance to reach out and fix it before I take further and possible legal action. I think it is unethical and unprofessional and down right bad business. I see that others have also had issues with the taking application fees and running. My mom and I could have been harmed behind this I have email, photo, and video proof of the entire process.
I am very happy with this process it was fast and secure not to mention you had a constant communication line for any and all questions that you needed answering thanks yall

Michael and his team were amazing to say the least! With an urgent situation at hand, he was very consistent with communication, reviewed our application quickly, and got us approved the same day. This is the best experience we’ve had trying to rent a place! 5 stars is not high enough!
Wonderful customer service! I absolutely love this property management company. Very professional and easy to work with, although I wish the communication was better with the agents responsible for processing your application but aside from that, this was an excellent experience!
My rental company was just taken over by this company,and 20 renters were ask to vacate our home with very short notice and when I'm trying to speak with someone,no one is ever available, and I'd also like to know what happens with our security deposit if we are suddenly asked to leave. Wow
It's been an excellent experience renting from Great Jones so far. They are very attentive to the needs of their tenants, and have responded to every maintenance issue I have had. Their staff is very friendly, and professional every time I interact with them.
Took a little while for the email responses but everything worked out with the help of Pasquale on the job
As far as the walls are concerned the contractor did a very good job due to the walls need sheet rock and not dry wall, the only way to really do them right is to tear the whole wall out and insulate and replace sheet rock the right way and not a bum job ,like what they did before I moved in.This can be a very great little place if it had been done before anyone moved in it.
I recently wrote a review on Great Jones, that it was a scam, and that they were not following through. Well they have redeemed themselves in my eyes. When brought to the attention of the right people things got done properly. I wasn't looking for perfection, but I was looking for communication. I just want to thank the people that work in Charlotte, NC, and the manager in Florida for following up and making the end of my experience with Great Jones a positive one. I am deeply sorry for having to put your company on blast, but someone needed to be aware of the mess that was happening here in Columbia. Again, thank you for your immediate attention and I will recommend this management team of Ali Mier and Alfredo Garay... I really appreciate your assistance.
I'm not even sure of what to say about this company. I applied for a townhome I believe Jan 11th. Here it is Jan 24th and still nothing. The description has said that it's in "pre-leasing" for nearly a month so I can't even go and see the home. I'm scared that by the time it's out of "pre-leasing" it won't be available anymore like others are saying in their rating. I wish I'd seen all of this before I paid the application fee. I just loved how the home looked so much I had to apply to try and be first. I've tried calling, I've tried emailing, everything is automated & I've yet to be successful at getting someone, an actual person, on the phone. HUGE red flag, if you ask me. Is this how it's going to be if I need maintenance? I'm running out of time here, I put down my move in date as Jan 26th because it wouldn't let me stretch it out. Well that date is 2 days from now. Still no response at all on my application. I know I applied early but I applied early in hopes I'd be the first since I liked the property so much. I'm not confident that I'll get anything with this company now after reading these reviews which sucks because my application will expire without even getting a chance to talk to anyone or see the place and I'm pretty sure they're not giving refunds even though I did everything I was supposed to. ADDENDUM (2/7/22): The finally sent an email about seeing the place about 4 days after I left this review, they emailed (automated) to set up seeing the townhouse (self serve). I went and looked at the listing again and the price had gone from $1345 to $1600 and they approved my application. NO way was I paying that much when my application said $1345. Terrible customer service and not trustworthy. And I wish they would stop sending me survey emails asking about their service.
This company is a scam. They tell you a property is available and then once you pay the application fee, you cant get a response until weeks later and they then say sorry that property is not available. The Customer service is awful!!!!! Don't waste your time or money on this business. AWFUL!!!!!!

Everything is great, tech was excellent, fast and resolved all issues
started renting our home from another company but after Great Jones took over they refused almost all maintenance requests, and to add insult to injury after we spent multiple entire days leading up to move out cleaning and tuning up the home extensively they still opted to keep our ENTIRE security deposit as well as charge us nearly 2x the deposit for "rentability appeal" damages. all images they provided for evidence are blurry beyond comprehensibility. if you rent from Great Jones you are asking to be robbed.
So far everything is great!
Application process was a bit slow,but the overall experience was wonderful. My parents has sign there lease and will be moving in soon. Thank you Great Jones for a wonderful experience.

Michael Weiss has been extremely responsive the application touring and corresponding was done mostly through email which had me uneasy at first but even with a holiday weekend they were very responsive communicated everything well and made me feel right at ease the house is rented at fair market value and is clean and safe and renovated and I wanted to do business with them just bc they haven’t capitalized on the supply and demand issue that’s going on now their homes are fairly priced clean and safe and im actually very glad I pursued my rental through them im old school so I’ve never used a distance property management company before but they made it so easy and efficient
