I generally have a good experience…

I generally have a good experience while shopping at Food Lion. Today however, the experience was different. I got in the express checkout lane which is 12 items or less. The individual in front of me had an entire shopping cart full of items. The checkout person along with another store employee thought it was a great time to socialize with this customer. It seemed like an old family reunion. What is the purpose of an express lane if the store clerk allows people to abuse it.

The past three times I’ve purchased…

This is a synopsis of why I no longer shop at Food Lion. The bread I’ve purchased there turned green and moldy a few days after I got it home…has happened at least three times. Twice, I’ve gotten meat home only to open it and find it is spoiled already. Is Food Lion selling old, outdated food? I won’t go back.

IDIOTS THAT HAVE TO MAKE AWESOME SUCK

i just dont get why people have to go & f--- w smthg that is already more than good & make it suck beyond hell! i had alwys raved about food lions delivery website too & how easy it was, etc etc & now its just atrocious not to mention you have to place an order a freaking year in advance now just to get it by late the next freaking day! plus you have to re enter most of your credentials too bcz they did not bother to save all that for you & im really surprised they dont make you signup all over agn! as horrific as ive alwys thought walmarts online shopping/delivery site is i'll be using it from now on bcz as horrible as it is its still one up from food lions new crap. no doubt whatsover theyll lose quite a few customers bcz of it too!

Customer service Treat people the way you want to be Treated

I come to this location on regular because it close near where I work . Today I parked near the door only because I had a asthma attack prior . It was a employer that was so rude instead of asking me why I was parked she made all kind of gestures and I even ask her a question and she ignored me . This was beyond rude . It disturb me so bad I spoke to the assistant manager I should had gotten her name because if it was not for her this could had went another way . Shout out to the assistant manager for being very professional but most of all concerned about me . Food lion this person makes your company looks bad because I am telling you she was extremely rude. Than as I finished talking to the assistant manager when I walked pass the employee that I had the issue with she knew I was telling the assistant manager about her . As I walk past her she sarcastically laughed. Its sad because my health was at risk I have a handicap sticker but the asthma attack was so bad I had to pull over where I did at the time . She was attending too the trash cans as I said I come here frequently but I was not in her way at all so I have no idea why she was acting the way she was . We live in a world human courtesy is lacking . Everyone is going thru something or another but to bring your anger or treat paying customers the way she treated me should be not tolerated and I am sure not Food Lions code of Ethics

Today Food Lion lost a customer

Today Food Lion lost a customer, me. I have problems all the time at the store in Clinton, NC. From long lines to improperly handled attempts to speed the lines up by making unfair decisions to open and then close a register to alleviate a long but helped only the last person in line then shut the register down. Today I went in and as usual I am trying to shop around the stockers and gatherers. I entered an aisle with 2 men and 2 carts. I asked the taller man in a dress shirt what happened to night stockers ... I think maybe he didn't understand my question due to his nonsense answer about the morning and now it's almost 5. I clarified myself by explaining that there used to be night stockers that come in overnight to restock the shelves and stay out of customers way during the day. I guess this struck some sort of nerve with him because he then proceeded to tell me I should be thankful he's there working and maybe if I don't like it I can just leave thru the door I came in thru. I had intended to ignore him and keep walking to another aisle and I could hear him talking to someone about how I should appreciate the fact he is there working and I should stop complaining. I yelled across the aisle that he should stop talking about his customers like that. I was going to let it go but I felt he should be reported so I went back after putting my groceries in my car and found out he is a sometimes manager named Brad. I go in this store multiple time a week and shop and today was the last straw. Unless something happens of your end and reassurances are made that things will be improved, I intend to shop at Carley Cs IGA from here on.

Nasty Attitudes, Not friendly to Customers and spoiled food

Good Morning, I go to the Food Loin street in Milton Delaware. This is the worst food Loin store that I have went to. Not all of the employees are there are bad but some are the worst. Not friendly there at all. No greetings at all. I brought some meat there that was very spoiled and I took it back. No apologies are nothing the just told me to go and get another one and that was it. Some of the self checkout workers are horrible. I rather go to Walmart. I went to the deli to buy some lunch meat. I was standing there for at least 19 minutes before someone helped me on 6/29/2025. There was a couple of workers there. One gentleman was wrapping meat another lady was just standing there looking at me and then she walked into the freezer. I waited for another 10 minutes the man was still standing there wrapping meat. A different young lady walked out of the freezer and saw me standing there and helped me. Wow I thought it was just me until I saw another woman standing there. I went to buy onions guss what they were spoiled onions should never be soft. Bad experience at the place.

Money stealing no counting workers!!!

I went into food like so many times before to get money order. This time I was dealing with a work who can't count large amounts of money.she put my 2,000.and 40.00 in the machine but only got back 1900 cause that's what she the machine to do. So she stole my 100.00 that she going to collect when the store close. I was there for a moneyvorder and them fools call the police me!! Food lion is a bunch of thefts dumb no counting fools! I will never go back and will erase the app from my phone

In store customer service

By looking at all the negative reviews, Food Lion doesn't seem to care about their customers! We shop the Food Lion in Roanoke Virginia, at the Hollins location.Their service is usually pretty good!! Very helpful. They hired some "summer" young help I suppose!! This customer service cashier obviously doesn't have any customer service SKILLS!!! She never spoke one word to us, except to tell us our bill amount! She didn't bother to bag our groceries correctly. We always separate our cold items from everything else, like most people do. That's why Food Lion uses blue bags for perishables and white for non perishable. We'll she just started bagging things her way. Also she just dropped things on top of each other, Bananas on top of the bread ect.. Sometimes you just let it go and think that people are having a bad day, but that's not really acceptable in my years of customer service, not mention the cost of groceries!!! So we go through her line on a different day, she does the same crap again. If your wondering who this cashier is, she's probably between 21-23 yrs old with purple hair. I just wonder if she still works there!!! If we choose to go through her line again and nothing has changed, I will have to complain to Management!!! (Not sure if the date we shopped is correct)

My online order from yesterday June 9 has been deleted d

My order from June 9 2025 is missing from my order history. 8 received some items yesterday. I have spent hours looking for that order but it is nowhere to be found. I am missing an extension cord, paper towels, toilet paper etc. Why does an employee take it upon himself to delete my order from yesterday from my order history?

The Food Lion in Nashville, NC

The Food Lion in Nashville, NC tends to have employees with atrocious attitudes who don't apologize when major grocery mix-ups are made and who get in your face and make rude, unprofessional remarks when they're the ones that messed up your pick-up order. The wait-times for pick-up are ridiculous and sometimes you have to physically go inside to get your bags which defeats the entire purpose. I do not plan on shopping at this particular branch again. The local Walmart has much better service and wait times and they've yet to ruin my pickup order. Do better, guys.

Every time I go there

Every time I go there, there is an issue. The store near me in Salisbury, MD on Nanticoke Road is terrible. Today my husband went and got a container of deli tuna. When he got home, I noticed the tuna's expiration date is 4/24/25, and today is 6/1/25. I went to return it, and the lady at the help desk was rude, did not even apologize for the convenience she caused me, and didn't seem shocked that it was still on the shelf. If someone had eaten the tuna, they probably would have gotten food poisioning. This is not the first time I've had to return an item for being expired. Also, the cashiers are not friendly, except for one, and the lines are long, and there are not self checkouts. The store is dirty, and I've had many encounters with staff that were not pleasant. There are always staff stocking the shelves in every aisle, and they barely move for you to get by. The other day there was grey meat and old chicken in the meat area. I will not go there again. This is it, even though it is 5 minutes from me, I will go to Aldi, which is 15 minutes away.

Awful

Wow! Up until about two weeks ago I loved food lion. I literally hate going to Walmart. I am assuming my issue has something to do with the new ordering process, but I would never know because no one will contact me back. I was unable to place an order 2 Saturdays ago. I contacted customer service and was told them. I was to receive an email within 15 minutes to respond to. This e-mail was to confirm that my account was not fraudulent. After not receiving the email I called back. I was told that the previous person had misspoke and that it could take up to 24 to 48 hours to receive the email. I did receive an email from customer service later that day in which I responded to. I waited a few days and emailed back. No reply. I have since emailed three times. I took a chance and thought well maybe my account has been reactivated it and they forgot to contact me, I logged in, and added my groceries to the cart, and went to check out when I did. I received the same error message I have in the past. Two weeks! I guess they don’t need our business. Two weeks just for our family is a loss of $500. I can only imagine how much they are losing.

I order Food Lion to go for my farm as…

I order Food Lion to go for my farm as well as my elderly mom and my family, so I need to be able to specify the address. The order process has been changed and I can no longer change the delivery address. Multiple calls to customer service and no one can help. Look like I will have to switch to another grocery store.

I shop at food lion because of the…

I shop at food lion because of the convenience.. normally no complaints BUT I purchased a mangers special Bsll Park bacon cheddar hamburgers — they were the worst hamburger I have ever eaten!!! Mangers special!!! I wish they would attempt to eat one!!!

I usually go to Shop Rite but stopped…

I usually go to Shop Rite but stopped by here on the way home. Everything is $5-$10 more! I get Fresh Pet food for my dog and normally the big bag is $20. It's $31 in Food Lion! Ridiculously priced. They should be ashamed.

Male employee with anger management issues

I witnessed a disturbing situation at the Emerald Isle, NC Food Lion involving a male employee with obvious psychiatric and anger management issues yelling and threatening a female customer. The woman was crying and called him Jason. The female manager named Tanya came over and I thought she would address Jason's inappropriate behavior, but instead, she yelled at the crying woman. This is absolutely shocking! I strongly feel this needs to be addressed by Food Lion to prevent behavior of this type by the employees. This man, Jason, shouldn't work with the public, and this woman, Tanya, needs to be trained how to prioritize customers.
