    Be aware of them charging you for premiums you don’t want!

    They are trickster that won’t tell you of extra charges and just take advantage of the situation when you go to pick up the car. They made me sign a paper that I though was the rental I approved on the internet but actually they were selling me a premium I never asked for not gave consent for, never they explained Anything. Truly regrettable costumer service.

    Having booked a car I got a taxi to the office, as I arrived at the office I was called to let me know that “we have no cars”. No offer of a different car or an upgrade, I was left standing outside the office in the rain without any transportation. I was also told that due to cancelling the booking there is no booking reference number. Having received no refund over a week later, I am told that I need a booking reference to get my money back. My money has been stolen and no service provided so now I am left pursuing the company through my bank. Avoid at all costs

    Rude and no vehicle despite taking my money and confirming online.

    Booked online on a Thursday evening. Because it was the end of the day I called Europcar too to check that they'd have my vehicle (a van)ready to collect first thing from their Bermondsay branch... yes they said, that's no problem and their system allowed me to book and of course take my money. Next morning I get a taxi and go there at 8.00am and they have no van and very little apology. I ask if another nearby branch might have a van and they say maybe, why don't you go and see. I ask if they could call ahead for me and they said no. I desperately needed the van as am clearing my deceased parent's house and this absolutely ruined all the complicated plans I had. And of course they still have my money which may take 30 days to refund!! Rude and unreliable, avoid avoid avoid.

    Run from stansted branch!!!!!liars, charlatans, thieves!

    Stansted Airport Branch the manager comes to the car with a cigarette in his hand and says that you are smoking 😅 charlatans. you see the pictures taken when taking over, mess and already existing damages I rented from them for hundreds of days! one of the managers and the one who takes over the car are hand in hand... he tries to intimidate you, to damage you that already existed. the car taken over is dirty. if you don't pay him, I will take pictures after you sign and leave. Attention!!!! If you catch them in the act, I'll jump to the beat!!! run away from here... I'll take your money! I have already sent pictures and make complain to customer Services...it's not first time! And not first person who recive blablabla ...we have right!!!!! You don't see ?stansted branch have all received rewiew with complain? Maybe 2/3 from staff friend is ok!!!

    Withheld deposit

    I booked a car online to pick up at Heathrow Airport on the 13th of August to be returned on 18th at 6pm. On picking up the advisor handing me the keys said there was no need for him to come out and check vehicle with me. I was told i "could" take a video of the car next day and send it to them. I was assuming they had at least done a check earlier cos the fuel tank was 6/8 full. I drove the car and returned it 2 hours earlier than planned at 4pm and returned it with the petrol at 6/8 In the contract I signed that if there were no issues,mi deposit of £250 would be returned in 10 working days, which meant on the 30th of August 2024 it would reflect on mi account. Today is the 8th of September making it 15 working days and I still haven't received mi money back! They charged me for fuel that was not in the vehicle and are trying everything to keep or cut as much out of mi money. If I don't receive mi full deposit by tomorrow, I'm taking this further and they'll need to compensate me for breaching their own contracts and policy. UPDATE 10th September 2024: I have sent more info through their link, called twice and today makes it 17 working days yet mi deposit was to be returned within 10 days! This company should be shut down period! I can not imagine the tourists coming into this country and having to deal with this kind of broad daylight thievery!

    Very poor customer service

    I pre booked a car from Europcar in August twice. On both occasions we did not get the car booked but a "similar" one. As I felt I had booked many weeks in advance this could have been honored as we had a lot of luggage and needed the car that I booked. The staff behind the counters gave the hard sell which would be intimidating for a lot of customers and visitors to UK. I did not want all the add-ons and I mean all the add-ons so was firm enough to say NO! Otherwise this could amount to a huge extra cost which was not shown in the original quote. Honestly it just got ridiculous. As I was dropping the car at one airport and picking up from another this was also an additional 45 pounds each time. The car belongs to your company what does it matter where its dropped off. I was not informed of this in original quote. When we were offered other cars as they could not provide the one we wanted it was all at an extra cost per day of course. When we went to collect car at Gatwick the man in the booth grunted and pushed the keys across the counter and just pointed saying " You will find it down there". Great customer service!! No instruction given either time on the cars. A special mention to Leah at Gatwick who tried very hard to be helpful but unfortunately she works for a hard sell company who rates customer service very low.

    Booked online and got confirmation for…

    Booked online and got confirmation for car, planned all the trip and Europcar surprised by informing there is no car available until 4 pm... They informed its online and they cannot do anything and its out of their hand... other rentals had live tracking of their car and informed that they are fully booked... Europcar should also have live tracking and stop taking fake booking.

    DO NOT HIRE ONLINE OR CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICES

    Myself and my partner booked a van online for the weekend. My partner has an international license, and is a citizen of the UK. Prior to our booking, my partner spoke to the customer services team on numerous occasions to ensure that the license would be accepted. Each time, we were told that we would have no problem, and the licence would be accepted. To our surprise, upon collection, the license was not accepted and we therefore were unable to hire the van. The lady who assisted us was very understanding and polite and offered a refund. The lack of communication within the company is an absolute disgrace. The customer service agents require some serious training on rules and regulations. I WOULD NOT recommend hiring from them.

    Para perder dinero y tiempo

    Al dejar el coche en el aeropuerto de Bristol nos dicen que todo perfecto. Al cabo de unos días nos pasan un cargo adicional de 140 euros. La primera operadora nos dice que es por la extensión del contacto de alquiler. Le explico que no se extendió. Ok a segunda me dices que es por la asistencia en carretera. Otra vez a explicar que no hubo ninguna petición de asistencia. Al final llega un mail diciendo que se han equivocado..... BIEN pienso . Devuelven el importe y luego lo vuelven a cobrar....Decir que nos sentimos estafados es poco. Otro operador a la última queja me dijo que se trataba de una póliza de seguro adicional (que evidentemente no contraté)...id con cuidado o mejor ..id a otro sitio

    Beware of Flat tires rental 156602664 06/07/24

    I hired a Fiat 500 at Glasgow Airport. All was fine until a flat tyre on a remote Scottish lane. I looked in the boot. No spare! Europcar remove the spare tyre service kit that Fiat equip the car with and leave an 0800 number to call. This is fine if it's not raining, you are not miles from anywhere and if there is mobile coverage!! I had to walk 2 miles to get reception. I then had 4 hours to wait until a recovery vehicle arrived. The recovery firm had to wait until the next day to go to the nearest Kwickfit. We had to take a bus 2 hours to get to Oban to pick up the car the next day. The fault with the tyre was a leaky valve but because it had to be driven to clear the road it had to be replaced. Total bill from Europcar was £395! So we lost a day with the car, fortunately, it was possible to extend our stay in our bnb for an extra day. All this because Europcar removes an essential item to ask for an extortionate charge to insure against a puncture!

    RENTERS BEWARE!!!!!

    RENTERS BEWARE!!!!!! Rented a car from Edinburgh airport, dropped off at Glasgow airport. They are refusing to hand back the deposit saying that a parcel shelf is missing. It was NEVER there to begin with and we didn't even know it was meant to have one.There is a hidden compartment in the boot where the parcel shelf is meant to be stored if not in use. It is an unknown car to us being foreigners and we are not to know that this car was meant to have a parcel shelf. Before renting...TAKE PHOTOS OF EVERYTHING!!!!! INSIDE AND OUT, EVERY PANEL, WHEEL AND INTERIOR. They will try and sting you for anything they can and are not interested in talking with the original hire place to resolve the issue. Tried to say we scuffed a wheel, luckily we had photos as proof that it was marked already. Marked us down as "refused to sign" before even giving us a chance to ring the original hire destination to try and work it out. Would not deal with Europcar again and I'm hoping Thrifty car rental in Dublin is a lot better to deal with.

    DO NOT BOOK ONLINE

    DO NOT BOOK ONLINE, their system is unable to cope with live availability. I booked and paid online for van rental next day only to be informed at 7.15am that there were no vans available that day. Very poor practice.

    Missing part that we never had.

    Went on a trip with family went to return car at another airport and they said there’s a missing shelf in the back that was NEVER there. And they love guilt tripping holding money for what we never had when we got the vehicle.

    This company is a joke

    This company is a joke. They STILL haven’t paid me my deposit of £250 back! I will never use them again! You can’t just hold someone’s money ransom when the vehicle has been returned back fine the same day. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Use another hire company who gives back the deposit the same day!
