    If I could give 0 stars I would

    We called to ask if the rental desk would still be open for the time our flight was due in. EuropeCar took this as an opportunity to cancel our booking without telling us, we then had to rent a new car, spending another £900 at the desk, financially penalising us for no reason. Incredibly unhappy with the customer service when trying to raise a complaint - we have had no responses to the escalation of the complaint - ignoring this escalation twice. Very disappointed. Do not use

    Absolute scammers

    Absolute scammers! They lie constantly. They'll lie when you pick up the vehicle and won't let you take the vehicle until you've paid more, despite having a receipt from your payment online that shows that you've paid for everything including the extras. Then tell you you'll have to claim the extra charge back. When you do they'll waste hours of your time on the phone, then eventually tell you they'll get it sorted, which they won't. Absolute c u next Tuesdays. In some cases actually criminal. They have zero morals and are quite willing to break laws for their own gain. I will be taking them to court soon and when I win I will take them for every penny!

    EMPRESA FRAUDULENTA Y ESTAFADORA Solo hablan ingles ,y lo utilizan para estafar a turistas con poco conocimiento de ingles . Debería ser investigada por las autoridades competentes. Su principal recaudación es ha base de estafar a turistas ,el alquiler de vehículos es secundario RECOMENDACIONES SI CONTINUAIS CON EL ALQUILER EN EUROPCAR Cuidado intentaran cobraros SUPLEMENTOS. Mirar bien los HORARIO de Europcar ,si llegáis fuera de horario os quedaréis sin vuestro coche de alquiler. Cuidado intentaran cobraros cargos por OFICINA CUALIFICADA Cuidado con el VEHICULO que os dan , si es inferior no abonaran la diferencia .y si es superior os cobrarán las mejora NIVEL DE GASOLINA que tenga el mismo nivel tal cual estaba en la recogida ,si no está lleno el depósito,hacer unas foto para cuando entreguéis el vehículo y podáis justificar el nivel . No os fieis de la amabilidad . Cuidado al pasar la TARJETA, solo te llegara la notificación del cargo de la fianza ,los recargos y factura definitiva te llegaran 14 días después y no te lo notificaran en ningún lugar ,y será tarde para reclamar Si habéis hecho la reserva desde alguna otra plataforma (rentalcars, kayak, happycar … ) y habéis contratado SEGURO PREMIUM con ellos ,fijaros que en vuestra factura preforma de Europcar no salga nada de importe correspondiente a ninguna cobertura ( cuadro azul en foto) ,solo el importe del vehículo y la fianza, que esta justo debajo de las coberturas pedir copia del cobro de la tarjeta, COMPROBAR FACTURA PREFORMA y que no os cobren por el SEGURO PREMIUM 2 VECES y otros suplementos HACER FOTOS del vehículo antes de montaros ,fotos de todas las ruedas en plano corto, fotos POR PARTES DE TODO EL VEHICULO y foto del cuenta km con el coche arrancado, os servirá para poder reclamar, cuidado con la SUCIEDAD del interior y exterior en la entrega , seria otro recargo (EDITO) Cualquier cosa que tenga el coche o veáis antes de retirarlo, comunicarlo en la oficina y que os lo pongan por escrito, hay opiniones que aun teniendo fotos ,el recepcionista lo anota pero al cabo de los días les llega el cargo como que entregaron el vehículo en mal estado aun teniendo las fotos MI EXPERIENCIA El día 29 de julio de 2024 realizo una reserva de un coche pequeño (Fiat 500) para una semana en Edimburgo con seguro premium incluido, por la cantidad de 266,74 euros (precio absolutamente cerrado) que abono en dicho momento. A la llegada al aeropuerto después de 1 hora y 15 minutos de espera nos atiende una mujer (Su nombre era Lodka según escribió en el sobre que nos entregó) que en ningún momento hizo el intento de que la entendiéramos. Nosotros no hablamos inglés. Dicho de paso, me parece una falta de profesionalidad tremenda que un servicio de alquiler de coches en un aeropuerto como Edimburgo que se entiende vendrán personas de todas nacionalidades, y que no tienen porque hablar en inglés, no haya ninguna persona que domine otros idiomas. A esta persona que nos atendió le entregamos nuestra hoja de reserva y procede a tramitarnos la reserva. Nos entrega una hoja y nos pide la tarjeta, que pasamos porque era para que nos hicieran el cargo del depósito 594 euros que nos tendrían que devolver una vez entregáramos el coche. Cuando reviso la hoja que me da a modo de factura no entiendo las cuantías y el desglose de las mismas por lo que vuelvo a preguntarle. Me dice, palabras textuales: no problem, todo ok y deposito return, con lo que doy por hecho que todo está correcto. El día 9 lo entregamos sin ninguna incidencia El día 15 de agosto, una semana después de volver de viaje, recibo un cargo en mi tarjeta de 471,64 euros sin concepto ninguno por parte de Europcar . Este cargo es totalmente indebido, han usado mi tarjeta de manera fraudulenta, ya que la pasé por el datáfono para pagar solo el depósito. Yo alquilé desde la Web un vehículo con seguro premium con un precio determinado y cerrado. EUROPCAR ha actuado de manera MALICIOSA y FRAUDOLENTA

    Unprofessional call centre

    Tyre dont keep pressure have had the vehicle 2 days and both days have had to put air in the tryes. The coolant sensor is faulty as takes a significant amount of time to go off up to 40 mins should only be a couple either that or they put the wrong coolant in it. The speedometer is fluctuating when engine is idoling means thwre could be a fualt with thw wiring and it may need earth again or therebis interference with the signals being sent. Currently over 4 hrs and no one is helping the branch dont care and the call centre staff think its funny have now copied the directors and the ECRCS into an email. Who have all niw been made awate of thw faults that they refuse to enchange the car i wont be liable if anyrhing goes wrong you chosen to ignore the customer To be told vehicle is come from one branch that is 4.3 miles away for it to actually come from another that is 13 miles to then be charged extra miles

    I was overcharged and mislead from the agent

    A few days after returning my rental car without any damages & full of petrol (agreement number: 156837779), I realised that they didn't refund the entire deposit of £752.38 that I left on the counter at the Edinburgh Airport. So I reached out to the customer service asking why they didn't do it and there were still £68.22 pending to be refunded. After waiting 1 week they replied saying that there was a mistake and they charged me "1 additional day of hire plus licenses and fees due to an error", so they refunded £15.82 for the overcharge. At that moment I was still confused why they haven't refunded the rest of the money, so I had to follow-up 2 times with them because they were not saying anything about the rest £52.38 pending to be refunded. Then finally they confirm that those 52 pounds are related to an upgraded added at the counter and that at the time of the pickup, there was added a "Roadside Assistance Express." At this moment I also realize that the agent basically did this intentionally because I didn't buy the full coverage insurance at the counter. I told the agent that I had my own private insurance and he stated that the private insurances from booking.com don't cover glass and wheels. I told him that it was an insurance with my bank and that it has full coverage, so it seems like in that moment he decided to add the Roadside Assistance Express and didn't me anything that this was an upgrade and that I had to pay £52.38 extra for it. If he would have done that, obviously I would have say no because I have full private coverage insurance already for this. What did the agent do? He just told me to sign the Rental agreement in multiple corners of the paper on both sides and that's it. And then told me to put my credit card for the deposit. He also didn't mention the value of the total deposit and didn't say that he was charging me £700 for the non-insurance deposit and £52.38 for the Roadside Assistance Express. At that moment I would have also asked by there were 2 payments and I would have cancel it. This is a very old school mislead sales tactic that should be claimed, but the customer service hasn't helped me further because I signed the agreement. The agent also signed the paper, but he didn't put his name, so I'm still waiting for a response from customer service to know the name of the agent who did this and file an official claim. What a terrible and disappointing experience.

    Another company making dodgy business…

    Another company making dodgy business based on fine print. Using cars from Klarna but when extend contract than magically change contract to Europcar. So thats how they rip me of for extra mileage for £170. Taking deposit £700 to rip you of the way they want. The only way is a court and expensive lawyers.

    I rented a car to go down to Heathrow…

    I rented a car to go down to Heathrow June 19th from the Tamworth branch, Great staff, Explained everything , Paid deposit and cost, Dropped car off no problem, Checked my bank account two days later, Deposit back and charges made, All happy.. On my return i used these again as was happy with service,, Boy never again. Booked to return to home town branch at 17.30, I returned said car 90 mins early, And now find my deposit will not be returned for up to ten days, They have taken the £167 charge, But still holding £390 ????, I called main office to be told they will raise issue with out of hours charge,But i have to wait up ten days for deposit to be returned... Never Never will this company get any further buisness from myself or friends or family....

    Our very negative experience

    Hired a car from Europacar Heathrow and dropped off at Gatwick all went well (although it was very expensive) the people there checked the vehicle said all good and we left, about 2=weeks later we get an email with a scratch about 4 cm on the very front of the top of the bonnet, we told them we did not do it and it must have been done in the yard after we dropped it off but to no avail, they charged us 379 pounds which converted to about 765 Australian dollars which was extortion for the photos that they sent to us. DO NOT hire from this company as the reviews you are reading are constantly the same and very true.

    Terrible unreliable company

    Worse company I have ever used. Car didn't turn up at 11am. They left a message saying the deposit payment hadn't gone through at 9am and to call this telephone number (they took the main payment okay) 4 hours later after trying to get through, as the King's X depot wouldn't answer their phones to me. Called customers services they tried calling Kings X and they didn't pick up to them either, then they pretty much told me there was nothing else they could do. Finally after speaking with CS for the umpteenth time they emailed them to call me. Later finally got a call and they said they were busy. No apology, missed time slot by 5hours for a business trip. Wouldn't use them ever again. This is a slimed down version of events. Really really poor company! Oh and managers don't speak on the phone when you ask for one. It's below their pay grade!

    Invoices insurance contrary to verbal agreement

    We clearly said we didn't want any additional insurance, which the guy at the counter confirmed and then prepared the papers/contract. It was super busy that day and we were rushed a bit, so we just signed the paper without reading it thorougly anymore, as we verbally agreed on the terms and already read through the terms etc. online when we did the booking (where we already booked some insurance which is why we didn't need an additional one). Turns out they booked an additional 65£ in the end for an insurance we never wanted in first place.. thanks for nothing and not a nice way sneeking additional costs in like that.

    Company charged my card double

    Rented a car in Italy and paid for it at checkout. A month later, got a duplicate charge for the rental and contacted customer service. They mentioned that there was an error in the system which resulted in a duplicate charge for which they were trying to resolve. After a month of chasing, I finally got a refund but it was short by ~USD30. Raised a follow-up and was told that I needed to raise a new complaint. Raised a new complaint and after another month, was told that they have checked and everything was in order without explaining why they didn't repay me the full amount they accidentally charged. Bottomline: This company may charge your card double and have you chasing for months to get your money partially back. Avoid at all cost. Also, when you book a guaranteed model, what they really mean is you'll get a much shittier version of the car and a talking to at the counter of what "guaranteed model" means (spoiler alert: nothing)

    FRAUDE

    He sido víctima de la misma estafa que estoy viendo que han sufrido un 46% de las personas que han dejado una reseña aquí y otro tanto que han dejado reseña en otros medios. Me parece inaudito que una empresa como Europcar se dedica a estafar a la gente de esta manera y salga impune. Además a esto responden con que escribas a un email que NO te dan y cuando consigues hablar con alguien continúan los engaños. Es una trama muy bien orquestada que debemos DENUNCIAR a las autoridades en España y en Reino Unido. Mi dinero ya no lo voy a recuperar, más de mil euros, pero quiero que se investigue la actividad FRAUDULENTA de esta compañía. Me han dado la misma respuesta que le dan a todo el mundo que lo lamentan mucho y que nos pongamos en contacto para poder solucionar algo y cuando lo haces te dicen que todo ha sido correcto y que no hay nada que hacer.

    Estafadores profesionales !

    Estafadores profesionales !! contrate el vehículo a través de Booking,y en el contrato indicaba que el vehículo contratado con Europcar disponía de un seguro obligatorio con una franquicia bastante alta pero Booking me ofreció la posibilidad de contratar un seguro adicional que cubría la franquicia en caso de siniestro, contrate este seguro y page 90 Euros adicionales a Booking por el seguro para la franquicia. Cuando llegamos al mostrador de Europcar nos dice que tenemos que pagar 500 Euros de un seguro con franquicia de 250 euros y si no nos cancelan el contrato y no nos dan el vehículo.Yo les digo que el coche ya tiene un seguro y que además yo dispongo de otro para cubrir la franquicia. No hubo manera de conseguir nada,se aprovecharon de la indefensión de la situación.Me dio la sensación de ser estafado por unos mafiosos sin escrúpulos. Al final tuvimos que firmar para que nos dieran el coche ya que no nos quedaba otra opción, Conclusión,pagamos 780 Euros por 15 días de alquiler de vehículo y ellos nos estafarón en el mostrador otros 500 Euros,practicamente lo que habíamos pagado por el alquiler del vehículo. Además ahora nos han llegado dos cargos más a la tarjeta de crédito ,uno de 50 Euros y otro de 150,ahora no me queda otra que anular la tarjeta de crédito para que no me sigan robando. Ni se os ocurra contratar nada con esta empresa!

    £40 email

    Omg Just had an email off these bad car rental people, they sent me a fine from Leicester City Council for driving in a bus lane £35 (Paid). But they want £40 for sending me the email. Stay well away from this company and never rent from these they are the worst company I have ever come across so please please read all the reviews and find a good car rental company not Europcar.

    Unorganised

    Tried to book a car online but the website wouldn't let me go past the driving licence stage, so called them... person I spoke with could hardly understand me, didn't seem to know what he was doing, spent 40 minutes on the phone, I reckon 30 of that was on hold, had to spell out my name, address and email on every word... finally got to the payment details, he took my card details then was unable to work out their system. Finally I gave up with them

    Awful service

    Awful service, I have been trying to contact the Peterborough branch for over 5 days now, every time I am transferred through I wait over 30 minutes then get a message to say no one is available. I have been told over 3 times now I have been added to an emergency call back list, and email has been sent to the branch manager... still not received anything back !!!!! Stay clear.

    Arnaque ..!

    Bonjour. Malheureusement arnaque pour nous aussi... Nous ne souhaitions pas d'assurance supplémentaire et celle ci a quand même était ajoutée. Une "caution" qu'on ne récupère jamais malgré une voiture rendue nickel avec confirmation d'un retour de caution complet. On a loué 2 jours pour quasi 400€. C'était pas du tout le budget prévu! Une magnifique arnaque De plus, le lieu de dépôt prévu qui était différent du lieu de retrait était fermé alors que celui-ci était réservé comme tel avec une heure de depot approximative. Nous n'avons jamais eu l'info d'un dépôt fermé ce jour là. Surprise en arrivant devant et numéro de téléphone ou personne ne répond et celui sur la réservation ne répond pas non plus! On a du changer tout nos plans pour remettre le véhicule le lendemain. Heureusement qu'on était encore sur place le lendemain matin!!!
