The general management and information exchange throughout the cruise was appalling. The high water conditions in the Rhine was well known before we embarked on the cruise at Amsterdam yet the management constantly tried to tell us this was a surprise. entertainment….awful. Clearly there was a virus spreading on board, yet there was absolutely NO medical facilities whatsoever on board. Upon returning to uk we attended our doctor who told us we had contracted Legionalla virus. Emerald failed to book our hotel in Basil as agreed meaning we had to arrange ourselves. Under no circumstances could we recommend Emerald to friend and family.

Budapest to Bucharest Negatives:- Rushed transfers from Amsterdam whist two other fellow passengers flew direct from Manchester and had half a day in Budapest. Straight on the boat for us. Toilets stops ridiculous - one toilet 38 people; nine coaches at a coffee stop with four toilets. Very large groups in small rooms at Bucharest palace. Hotel room not ready and had to wait until 4.45 Warm water served at the table. Some guides very repetitive; although knowledgeable. Some city visits rather poor - especially Bulgaria. Well organised, good itinerary, managed to get through the 2 week trip depite low water issues that stopped other ships. Relaxed atmosphere aboard, great value, good guided trips and plenty of choices. Looked after less able and more able passengers.

Quick response after booking to arrange travel. No hidden extras. Excellent customer manners.

The trip that we did was lovely. We will use Emerald again.

I enjoyed all of my cruise couldn’t fault anything but unfortunately when choosing our cabin my husband chose one right next to the engine room ,not being a very good sleeper I struggled to get a decent sleep .

We arrived at Munich airport in the midst of the biggest storm to hit the Danube Basin in many years. This caused considerable upheaval to our planned itinerary, sailing between Passau and Budapest. In the midst of this, the captain and the senior crew dealt with the enforced changes efficiently, with good humour and excellent communication skills which kept all passengers informed at all times. Despite the problems a great time was had by all, helped by the usual Emerald attention to detail and fine food and wine. We were sorry to leave the cruise at the end of the week but left with a firm resolve to repeat the experience - minus the storm - in the near future.

We've been on two emerald cruises, fabulous, love that you can sit at random tables for meals and have the chance to speak to different people each other time.

The cruise was luxurious, the staff were excellent, the food delicious & the itinerary well thought out.

I went on the Danube Budapest to Bucharest . I was disappointed that the scenery all along the Danube was unexciting , just trees and more trees ! I would have liked more time in Budapest and Bucharest as they are interesting cities but this wasn’t possible . Bucharest visit to Chowchesques palace was truly awful snd a complete waste of time . We had little time to see the city except for on the coach . I cannot fault the boat organisation though which was excellent. Food , staff , comfort , cleanliness all exemplary .

Where do I start to put into writing how FABULOUS our Emerald Cruise to Vietnam and Cambodia. From start to finish everything had been arranged to ensure we had a holiday of a life time. We stayed in 3 beautiful hotels (two in Vietnam and one in Cambodia). We had a 2 night cruise around Halong Bay, which was paradise. Our itinerary was packed with interesting visits with expert guides who were bursting with knowledge. We had a full week cruising along the Mekong Delta on the beautiful 'Emerald Harmony'. Our room was very comfortable and the all crew were amazing, friendly and eager to cater to your every need. The on board entertainment was professional and fascinating, as were our daily onshore adventures. The food in all the hotels and both cruises was well prepared and delicious, and the presentation was fantastic. We cannot thank Emerald Cruises and their staff /crew for the thought and effort they have put in to make this holiday EXTRA special. It was worth every penny. This review only has 5 stars, I would prefer to give 10 if possible.

1st class treatment from staff from start. Great food great rooms. Entertainment staff was of a high standard. Trips excursions were very jnfommative abd at the right rate of pace and information
