We hide A Renault small SUV for four days in it done approximately 4000 K, so was in good condition. The only annoying factor was a rattle in the drivers door. The service at the counter was good and fast as was the shuttle to the airport The right was okay cheaper than most but like everything these days too expensive. The only other negative comment that I would make is that their shuttle service only goes between their base and the airport. They don’t pick up or drop off at hotels. I know a lot of higher car companies only do that these days but Some will do the hotel pick up and return.
Best rental company in Melbourne
I have been using ECCR every time I travel to Melbourne. The experience was always great on the previous occasions and this time was no exception. Staff were friendly and quick and we got our two cars within 20 minutes. As we chose zero liability the staff did not even go through the cars with us and told us to just drive off. Returning was a breeze also. Just handed the keys to a guy after we parked and all good.
East Coast Cars is a great service and I'll use them again.
I've never used East Coast Cars before and so it was a gamble. I couldn't have been happier. From the pick up at the aiport to collection of the car, and then drop off and lift back 6 days later, I couldn't rate it highly enough. We ended up with what I think is a better car than I had booked (Mitsubishi ASX instead of a MG ZS). The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient, with clear communication on how to find the pick up point at the airport and also the drop off procedure. It was a great price for a great service and I will definitely use them again.

A good price, a reliable rental car and excellent service. Don't bother with Avis, Budget, Herz etc. Go straight to East Coast Car Rentals. The price for a 26 day rental was less than half the price of the mainstream international companies.

No nonsense car hire
Easy booking (through booking.com). No hard sell of any extra’s. The staff were friendly and polite. Vehicle (MG ZS) was clean on pickup, and a nice surprise was that it had Apple CarPlay. No assessing the vehicle with a fine tooth comb and magnifying glass upon return. A real sensible approach to car hiring and a refreshing experience. We’re heading back next year and will definitely be hiring with East Coast again.

This car rental is great. First time I have used them, and they have been outstanding. Kind, helpful, great price and the cars are fabulous. I will continue to use them in Australia only wish they had the company in the UK.

This car rental is second to none
This car rental is second to none. I have used them twice now and they have been outstanding both times. Kind, helpful, great price and the cars are fabulous. I will definitely continue to use them when we fly over once a year from the UK.

Kia bus worked well for 4 adults and luggage. Rear passenger sliding doors were difficult to slide ( ok if you were weight lifter) Booked thru booking.com whose insurance was a waste of money, still ended up paying comprehensive ins with east coast rentals. Staff at Hobart airport helpful.

East Coast great hire car experience
Used East coast in Tasmania for a 19 day hire for a road trip got a great clean car. Then we hired another car in Perth airport for 7 nights for a south west trip. The Shuttle bus in both branches worked perfectly, with friendly informative drivers. The Perth branch looks really new staff were super helpful and we got another great car. Although the Hobart airport branch was a little busy as it was 0930am The staff quickly got through the clients. Staff at both branches were really superb. Pricing was reasonable for the car and extras required.

This company has been immensely helpful…
This company has been immensely helpful to me when my travel plans got turned upside down. I initially hired a car for 6 weeks but then had to extend the rental period an extra 4 days... there was no trouble doing that. At the end of this hire period the car was turned in. Their shuttle service took me to the airport. I could not board my scheduled flight as planned and would be delayed at least another 3 days. This company were able to provide another car with no waiting period. On the day this car was to be returned my flight was cancelled at the last minute, so again I had to extend the car hire period for another two days. This was handled with ease by East Coast's staff. Throughout this whole time, the staff helped me through what was a stressful time at the end of a great vacation. They were able to put my mind at ease so I could focus on my other important issues. Thank you. I would not hesitate to recommend your company to anyone.
