We hide A Renault small SUV for four days in it done approximately 4000 K, so was in good condition. The only annoying factor was a rattle in the drivers door. The service at the counter was good and fast as was the shuttle to the airport The right was okay cheaper than most but like everything these days too expensive. The only other negative comment that I would make is that their shuttle service only goes between their base and the airport. They don’t pick up or drop off at hotels. I know a lot of higher car companies only do that these days but Some will do the hotel pick up and return.
I have been using ECCR every time I travel to Melbourne. The experience was always great on the previous occasions and this time was no exception. Staff were friendly and quick and we got our two cars within 20 minutes. As we chose zero liability the staff did not even go through the cars with us and told us to just drive off. Returning was a breeze also. Just handed the keys to a guy after we parked and all good.
I've never used East Coast Cars before and so it was a gamble. I couldn't have been happier. From the pick up at the aiport to collection of the car, and then drop off and lift back 6 days later, I couldn't rate it highly enough. We ended up with what I think is a better car than I had booked (Mitsubishi ASX instead of a MG ZS). The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient, with clear communication on how to find the pick up point at the airport and also the drop off procedure. It was a great price for a great service and I will definitely use them again.

We were met at the arrival terminal as promised and taken back to the rental office. We'd paid the extra dollars to get the insurance before we arrived, so our car was ready to go. The whole process took about 5 minutes at the office.

Arrived in Bribane late and tired and was so glad I had booked with East Coast Car Rentals. Made the trip from airport to their base easy and quick. Sorted out the booking in no time fitted the sat nav which was brilliant during our trip. Returning the car was simplicity itself ,really helpful staff and dropped us back at the airport hotel. Painless. Highly recommend and thank the guys.

Slight misunderstanding between staff meant I was allocated the wrong car and had to return the next day for a replacement which was quickly and efficiently processed. Have used most branches of ECCH and the service and prices are consistently excellent.

Use ECCR quite a lot, particularly when picking up a car at an airport. The instructions to find the shuttle and the frequency of the shuttles are very good. The staff are very friendly. The car in Sydney (RAV4) was excellent but underpowered, the car in Melbourne was OK but high mileage and tinny (MG). Returns and pick up are generally processed quickly

Quick pickup from airport. Reasonable price to hire the vehicle. BTW, the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid is under-powered and struggles up hills. IMHO. But that's not their fault. I was expecting a vehicle 5 years old, but the one supplied had only done 5000 km. Quick delivery back to the airport by their shuttle-bus.

Outrageous Charges East Car Rental told us to buy additional insurance when picking up the car but as we bought full proection from rentalcover.com, we did not buy full protection twice. Upon returning the car on December 25, there was a small scratch on the bumper which looks like the paint was scratched off (around 1-2cm), the customer service said they will need to charge AUD1000 as deposit although it can be up to AUD5500 for major damages. However, rest assure, it should be much less and that we will likely get a refund. On that basis, we paid the AUD1000 and left. I emailed a week later on the final cost and did not hear from them until end Jan 2025 (one month later). They put together a full report which includes an assessor fee, 5 days loss of rental income, processing fee etc,,, and asked us to pay an additional AUD1449 which is a total of AUD2449 for a small scratch (1-2cm). The amount seems so outrageous we emailed to ask and they said it is NOT a small damage!! They further said if we don't pay by the due date, they will pass the outstanding to an external party to collect and that we will be responsible for any additional charges. Lesson learnt, we will NEVER rent from East Coast car rental ever again and will choose more reputable and reliable bigger car rental companies such as Europcar, Avis, Thristy... This is the first time we ever rented from East Coast and will be the last.
