Regular, informed and timely updates on progress of both our sale and purchase. Excellent support and accessibility provided by our conveyancing solicitor Tom Mclaren-Roberts.

I found communications easy, Lucy my property lawyer was responsive by telephone & email. She dealt with my case efficiently and had a difficult time with buyer solicitors dealing with their poor management & unresponsiveness in a professional manner. I would recommend this service based on my experience
Delyth was lovely and helpful through the whole process of buying our house. Always replied promptly with emails and kept us updated.
It's difficult to know how to score this review. Delyth's communication was pretty good and she did answer e-mails promptly and, in the end, the sale went through OK. However, the process was o=more painful that it needed to be. It wasn't until about 48hours before the initial completion date that I was informed of various documents that were still required. Getting the Conveyancing Direct legal people to accept that I am who I say I am was a nightmare - simply because I happen to live in France! Thankfully I had the time/flexibility to jump through their hoops but if I'd been working full-time it might have been another story.
Fantastic service from the Manchester team at Conveyancing Direct and especially Sim Singh and Fiona Milsom who both helped make the purchase smooth and straightforward. True professionals, clear communication and a competitive price. Thank you.
Superb service from Paul Baldwin-Jones from start to finish. After several issues with the sellers solicitors, Paul took time to talk us through options, was thorough and understanding and proactive . Without your experience and thorough approach we could be in a much different situation. Thank you
What an absolute joke this company is, especially Antoinette domain. We had a cash sale with no chain and it has taken eight months for the sale to go through, with no problems at all, except for the solicitors. None of the staff were helpful, even when you could actually get through, because a lot of the time nobody answered the phone, they never rang back when they said they were going to ring back, the lack of communication was abysmal, begrudge every penny we’ve had to pay this company, absolute joke shop! what a gang of clowns. Minus stars if I could!
Barely any contact from the conveyancer Dean, no updates and no enthusiasm to get the job done. I think I made more enquiries, phone calls and follow ups than him. I wish I’d read the reviews and not just accepted this company via my sales agent. They failed to acquire the necessary response from the Land Registry, in a timely manner, over 5 weeks of waiting and the application wasn’t even submitted until 2 months after the sale process was first started. They refused to give my mortgage lender a completion date so it has been put it into the hands of the receivers, CDPL have therefore lost my house for me, despite paying on time and in full, every month, for 17yrs! God only knows how much this will now cost me, until the receivers sell it.
Emily Briers was my solictor at Conveyancing Direct, she was so understanding with my circumstances. Avaliable to answer all my calls, emails and questions, she made me feel at ease throughout the whole process. I couldn't be more thankful for her service, she made my first time purchasing a house not seem so daunting. I highly recommend requesting for Emily Briers when purchasing any property - she will go above and beyond to make the whole process feel like a breeze. Thank you for being so great.
I sold my house in Nottingham earlier this year and although I live in Buckinghamshire thought this might be difficult. I used Amanda Zimba (now Amanda Lesser) who did everything for me I didn't have to leave my home to do this. She was amazing she talked everything through with me so it was easy to understand and do. Would thoroughly recommend her. Thank you.
Provided by Connells to deal with the straight forward cash sale of my flat .Was told by estate agents around a 4 week turn around at the start, still no completion date 5 and a half months later and have lost the buyer now who wanted a quick sale because of this “ solicitors “…DO NOT USE , they really are useless . At least my solicitor Tariro is anyway. The managers don’t care if you complain either. Complained to legal ombudsman and I never complain about anything.
Had Sarah Stewart as my solicitor, she has been absolutely fantastic! Available whenever I called, paperwork through quick, phone call as soon as received back. House purchase from offer to completion in just over 5 weeks. Read the reviews and am sorry that others have been unlucky not to deal with this lady, cannot fault her, supportive when first property fell through too.
Sarah and her team was absolutely amazing. I cant thank them enough for always going above and beyond to try and get me and my family into our new home. Very professional, honest and supportive throughout the whole buying and selling process. I would definitely recommend. thank you again :-)
!!NEVER USE!! Incapable of doing a job which they are paid to do!
Avoid at all cost!!! Leanne guy is the worst person to be a conveyancing Lawer, not fit for the job. No communication at all took 20 weeks to completion where Martin tolhurst’s timeframe is 8-10 weeks. I regret coming to this company, should have gone to Martin tolhurst cos we know they are good and have used them before. Very professional and quick to respond.
An absolute disaster from start to finish. Solicitor made error after error and had to be corrected at every step along the way. The house sale was delayed by at least 2 months due to their incompetency and lack of communication. They also overcharged me at the end but I didn't dare to complain because I just wanted to get the sale through. Solicitor also went on a 3 week holiday without telling anyone and despite many promises nobody picked up the case in the meantime. Just shockingly bad throughout. I'm not one to write online reviews but this has caused me so much stress that I feel obliged to let others know
Can’t thank rebekka Davis enough very helpful and professional always on hand to help my out with queries highly recommend great service
Like numerous people on here, communication and service was pretty appalling. We are first time home buyers and we were naive on our part to go with the Connells recommendation rather than researching for our own solicitor. Our solicitor was Rhian, and though kind on the phone, she was hard to phone and never updated us until we started asking ourselves and emails were few and far between. It wasn’t until on our original closing date that she told me she was required to tell our lenders that the sellers were there for less than 6 months and needed to see if they’d still be happy to proceed with the purchase. Couldn’t that have been something to tell the lenders weeks BEFORE the date we wanted to close on?! I expressed my concerns and wanted to know on what day could we close and instead of giving a measured date, she just told me to be assured that we would have plenty of time to close. How does she know our situation? For all she knew we could have been homeless just because our rent went out while waiting for this house to go through! Luckily that wasn’t our case, but that easily could have been anyone’s! The only reassurance we got through this process was knowing that so many others had the same crap experiences with them once we saw the reviews eventually. I gave two stars because fortunately for us, we were delayed 2 weeks which isn’t bad and she finally started being slightly more communicative in the last week of this process. If you want regular updates, explanations on a process that’s already confusing to first time home buyers, and don’t want to do all the chasing up, GO ELSEWHERE
The very nice Welsh lady was a joy to talk to. Thank You. Gerry
I had an offer accepted on a block of 3 flats in my home town and I instructed this lot after the estate agent recommended them on 06th June 2023 and was promised the conveyance would not take long. I was appointed one of their solicitors Emma Hopkinson. The incompetence is staggering!! I submitted all correspondence as soon requested, and then would not hear a peep, until I had to prompt them. Every email I sent would take an inordinate time for them to answer. I have finally sacked them off any gone to my local solicitor, who laughed aloud when I forwarded the email trail to him. DO NOT GO NEAR THIS LOT. RED NOSES, UNICYCLES AND SQUIRTY ROSE BUTTON HOLES.

Many reviewers praise the exceptional support provided by solicitors like Tom Mclaren-Roberts and Sara Costas, noting their responsiveness and clear communication throughout the conveyancing process. Positive experiences often emphasize timely updates and a smooth transaction, particularly for first-time buyers. However, a substantial number of complaints point to poor communication and unprofessional behavior from certain staff members, leading to frustration and dissatisfaction. Customers express disappointment with slow service and a lack of updates, which detracts from the overall experience. While some clients have had positive interactions, the negative reviews suggest that potential customers should proceed with caution.
