Brilliant Service
From start to finish Tara and her team were brilliant. She was always available to speak with, took her time explaining everything and was incredibly thorough. Would recommend to anyone

Regular, informed and timely updates on progress of both our sale and purchase. Excellent support and accessibility provided by our conveyancing solicitor Tom Mclaren-Roberts.

We initially seemed to be assigned a new conveyancer every other week which was concerning. This being said we were eventually assigned Rebekka Davies whom ade the whole process easy and understandable, answering all my (sometimes daft) questions and not flinching at my occasional grumpiness. The whole process was so much more bearable and we can not recommend Rebekka enough.
I am happy to say that my case handler Delyth Thomas was a pleasure to deal with. She communicated with me throughout and was very diligent and always very pleasant to speak with. I am satisfied my sale went through as quickly as was possible.
Where to start? This company refuse at any point to give you a rough completion date, when asked they repeatedly extend the time scale or refuse to commit. Apparently this is "normal" behaviour for a solicitor. But at 52 this is the first solicitor I've dealt with who's had this problem Phonecalls and emails are consistently ignored or the phone is left to ring out. Letters are repeatedly sent out minus enclosures. Legal documents (TR1) sent out in an incorrect format and when questioned, asked why I want to hold the shares of the property in a particular way, which I've done consistently over the years with other solicitors, without issue. I was then told it was "not normal" and asked why I can't afford a property on my own.!!! When complaints are made, it's questioned "if you really want to move" Absolutely disgraceful behaviour. Will be referring to the Legal ombudsman
Beyond incompetent! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They caused unnecessary hold ups, taking over a month to reply to queries that's if you could actually get hold of them. Would not answer emails or calls and quite often the phone would ring out and drop calls when trying. Also will not answer the phone after 5pm despite saying they are open until 7pm. We were recommend to use this awful company by our estate agent, under the guise that it would expedite our purchase and it would all be in house. What a joke that was! Nearly six months later and we are nowhere near completion. Given that we are purchasing a probate property with no chain, we've only just had our searches done. If your agent does recommend them - firstly run, but also read the small print as chances are they are getting a hefty incentive payment for recommendations. They are not legally trained and if you require anything that is "off script", they will duck, dive and deny that it is possible to be done. Likewise all of our legal documents were emailed from them in MS Word and not in PDF format, which meant that they could easily be amended (as by the looks of they have no idea about using tracking changes) - something I've never seen done in all of my professional career. Due to the holdups, and lack of communication we have reported them to the legal ombudsman and to the society of licenced conveyancers. There is no way that a company with this level of incompetence should still be operating. It appears from a number of reviews that several other people have had similar terrible experiences with them. Please do not use them and save yourself the stress, frustration and delays that we had to go through.
There wasn’t any communication. I had to phone and say I was leaving to get a response. An absolutely appalling service. Avoid this company if you can, they are very slow and have not got their processes in place for an efficient service. I don’t know why they are doing ore for Peter Alan ! So frustrating and disappointing service.
Conveyancing Direct's response to my complaint is shocking. Their denial of critical errors is a clear display of incompetence and unprofessionalism. From miscommunications and assumptions to oversights and incorrect advice, my journey was plagued with frustration. Their proposed compensation of £150 is laughably inadequate for the time wasted, stress endured, and their repeated mistakes. Their disregard for accountability and customer concerns is truly disheartening. I'm left with no choice but to escalate this to the Legal Ombudsman. This company's ineptitude and lack of responsibility have left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. Avoid at all costs.
I found Sarah Stewart extremely nice and helpful to deal with. She was professional and approachable at all times. It was a pleasure dealing with Sarah and I couldn't ask for anyone better to deal with the sale of my flat. Per
Although i finally got the house i purchased. But it is not that smooth and not as expected. I have placed a bit higher offer to buying some existing furniture from the seller, I even sent the photos on the furniture I need to the solicitor, and it seems that there is nothing reject on this issue during the process. However, when i got the key, it is totally empty!!!!! I really wondering if they have done their responsibilities on communicating or discussing my needs during the whole process. In fact, it is not surprise, as they ask me twice on some signed document which i have sent to them mths before, and the messy breakdown on the charges, they could even would like to charge me twice on the land registry with 2 different cost in the final breakdown, as a client, we have to do and read everything carefully which suppose a legal expert should be and provide a worry-free services!
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!! Absolutely disgusting service and communication. My partner and I have been waiting 7 months for these clowns to do what they are being payed for, and complete the standard paperwork that they have to deal with as part of their job description. There is also no chain on the property, which has also been empty for months now. Despite numerous emails and phone calls, this company refuses to get into contact with us. The first contact they made in 3 months, after ignoring all our attempts to get in touch with them, was to tell us they are on annual leave. For some reason Clive watkin recommended the use of these blowholes and I am now stuck waiting. If you would like the most stressful and irritating time in your life up to now clarified, then Conveyancing Direct have the services for you.
Moving house can be fraught and stressful. Happy to be able to say that legal service provided by Conveyancing Direct and, in particular, Matthew Dunn was exemplary. Matthew kept us updated throughout the process and responded quickly to any queries we raised.
Was recommended them by our estate agents (Freeman and Foreman), and did not know at this point they are part of the same company. Our property lawyer was either over worked, incompetent or both. They do not communicate and when they do they are vague and unhelpful. I lost count the amount of times we tried to call and could not get through, to then be promised a call back which never happened. We had to email documents several times as our property lawyer could not identify them in the same email chain. For the majority of the time we worked with them it seemed as every time we talked it was if we have never communicated at all. Very poor service all round. Do not use
Our engagement with Conveyancing Direct, recommended by our agents, yielded a disappointing experience. Lack of communication throughout , including delayed email responses of up to a week and unaddressed phone calls. In addition the sudden transition of our solicitor without prior notice led to slowdowns for both parties involved. Be prepared for the process to take three times longer than expected and receive only half the anticipated communication. Our experience underscores the vital role of effective communication and leaves us hesitant to recommend Conveyancing Direct.
Used for selling my house. Buyer wasn't selling, I wasn't buying, just one house involved. Sold the house beginning of April, completed middle of July. I was extremely disappointed in the time it took to complete. Was it conveyancing direct fault or the guys team I really don't know. They kept asking the same question to a point I wanted to put a billboard outside there office with all the answers. The person that dealt with me communicated well and was polite. I wanted a quick sale, everyone told me it would go through quickly because it was only one house. Beginning of June I was told it should only be a couple more weeks because it was at the point of being completed. 6 weeks later. Personally I was disappointed in the whole experience, the estate agent and the lawyers. They just want your money.
Not only failed to carry out their job properly when we bought a property, but also when we sold the same one as well!!! Quite possibly the most useless company we have EVER dealt with. Left us thousands of pounds in debt, after failing miserably to carry out the job they were paid to do. I would not touch them with a barge pole and would highly recommend that NO ONE else does either.......AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Do not use. Our buyers were advised by Connells to use Conyencing Direct and ensure us it would be a quick process if the solictors and mortgages were managed in house. The contract pack was sent out 4 weeks ago and no confirmation of receipt despite several chasers. After numerous calls chasing for a week, Connells have finally provided the name of the solicitor who has confirmed receipt but won't give timeframe of progress and the supposedly solicitor won't answer calls. Absolutely useless and incompentant. Do not bother.
This was the easiest and best experience I’ve had in selling a property. They answered my emails within minutes and I could call and speak to them without any long waits or call back. At no point was I in the dark, if all companies practice that level of service, the country would run a lot better. True professionals. 5 stars all the way.
Our Solicitor was called Emma and she was absolutely amazing. It turned out to be a very difficult and challenging sale, but Emma was on it from the start chasing people to keep everything moving in the right direction and keeping us informed every step of the way. The company came via a recommendation and so glad we used them, I can't rate them highly enough. A massive thanks to Emma once again, we will always be grateful without you I don't think we would be in our new home and enjoying the next chapter in our lives.
Liars, I am now in the process to complain to Legal Ombusdman to get the money they owe me as per their ‘no sale, no fee’ policy which is a lie.
Everything went smoothly and communication good. Would recommend

Conveyancing Direct Property Lawyers receives a mix of feedback from customers, highlighting both commendable service and significant issues. Many reviewers praise the exceptional support provided by solicitors like Tom Mclaren-Roberts and Sara Costas, noting their responsiveness and clear communication throughout the conveyancing process. Positive experiences often emphasize timely updates and a smooth transaction, particularly for first-time buyers. However, a substantial number of complaints point to poor communication and unprofessional behavior from certain staff members, leading to frustration and dissatisfaction. Customers express disappointment with slow service and a lack of updates, which detracts from the overall experience. While some clients have had positive interactions, the negative reviews suggest that potential customers should proceed with caution.
