What updates? What communication?
Like numerous people on here, communication and service was pretty appalling. We are first time home buyers and we were naive on our part to go with the Connells recommendation rather than researching for our own solicitor. Our solicitor was Rhian, and though kind on the phone, she was hard to phone and never updated us until we started asking ourselves and emails were few and far between. It wasn’t until on our original closing date that she told me she was required to tell our lenders that the sellers were there for less than 6 months and needed to see if they’d still be happy to proceed with the purchase. Couldn’t that have been something to tell the lenders weeks BEFORE the date we wanted to close on?! I expressed my concerns and wanted to know on what day could we close and instead of giving a measured date, she just told me to be assured that we would have plenty of time to close. How does she know our situation? For all she knew we could have been homeless just because our rent went out while waiting for this house to go through! Luckily that wasn’t our case, but that easily could have been anyone’s! The only reassurance we got through this process was knowing that so many others had the same crap experiences with them once we saw the reviews eventually. I gave two stars because fortunately for us, we were delayed 2 weeks which isn’t bad and she finally started being slightly more communicative in the last week of this process. If you want regular updates, explanations on a process that’s already confusing to first time home buyers, and don’t want to do all the chasing up, GO ELSEWHERE
