Monopoly Events - Comic Con Liverpool Reviews

1st time to Monopoly's Liverpool Comic con (not our 1st Monopoly event) & in all honesty we were quite disappointed. The guests were varied & some big stars mixed among smaller celebs, however we waited in a queue for approx 45mins for an autograph advertised at £50 to find out the price had gone up to £75. The food was overly expensive for what it was, which i appreciate is the venue not the event organisers. While the stalls were plentiful they were pretty samey. Great if you're after arts & crafts, posters or funko pops (we both collect a few pops but also marvel/DC figures, my little pony, motu etc etc) Stalls were absolutely no good if you collect action figures or classic/retro toys, comic stalls were minimal, not much for people of varying collecting passions

I've been to 3 Liverpool Comic cons and this recent one has really disappointed me. Having a famous celebrity be lay on the fay is ridiculous - I had to wait 6 hours to meet the celebrity and by the end of it he was exhausted and barely really talked to anyone which left my friend, who was overstimulated, more upset by everything. Its ridiculous that someone who was so popular was basically worked to the bone, meaning both his fans and himself were left disappointed. The only good thing was that the worker eventually put us into diamond pass because we had all been waiting for 6 hours

First experience at comic con was a good one, met the people we wanted to meet, great atmosphere until we got to the red building and there was no one to direct us to where we were supposed to go; tried to exit the venue only to be told we had to cue up to leave! Apart from this, good day. Would say it needs more organisation though and maybe not sell as many tickets due to how overcrowded it became very quickly.

(Sarcasm warning) Well I can honestly say this is without doubt the worst company iv ever dealt with. Considering the owner is good mates with tommy robinson who supposed support the so called little people from corruption, rule breaking bully's it seems when it comes to money all that goes out the window! Don't worry monopoly I will be utter truthful. So few weeks ago I rang up after some comic con tickets to take my son and as both he and his mum are disabled I was told by the guy on the phone I need nimbus cards, I also asked about the fast tracks as obviously standing around for both isn't a option, the guy said I need to get nimbus cards first and obviously the tickets are subject to what nimbus say and eligibility. So I applied for the nimbus cards received them paid for three years each but yes could of had them free as they have pointed out, but if I was going go back next year I might as well. I rang back up both people on phone ok speak to to be honest but this is when the issue started. I have never booked though these or used nimbus so obviously have no clue what I'm doing told the lad on the phone (let me get this right as this is a reason why they can't refund as well) hi mate I rang up the other week to purchase some tickets but needed a nimbus card I have that with the plus 1 and everything" (hope that's right) so can I ordered the tickets he said so two standard tickets and a carer ( note they only do standard tickets they don't do a disabled one which will become clear later) the ticket are non refundable ok mate can I get the access passes them please which they informed only the disabled and carer can use the passes so I informed him about my son which has no bearing on ticket or the fact I rang up for mobilty tickets with nimbus card. The guy accepted it and said yes mate you are entitled to it let me have a look o sorry we don't have any left! So at this point I'm confused as what the feck I'm supposed to do I ask well what do I do them mate, he tells me go later as it won't be as busy to get in and there are places to sit, yet the comic con liverpool reviews actually say the opposite. I emailed them back complexted at how they can sell disabled tickets without warning no passes are left it doesn't seem unreasonable to inform guests first so I asked for a refund to which I have never seen so many utter disgusting ways around a refund as they physically cant go without the pass. It's not like I'm doing it get a free ticket I got one but it's irrelevant. If there's no seating does that mean your liable I doubt it. But iv had every excuse from they didn't know I needed them. Emails about them before and previous calls. Then using the ticket it self as it says standard so it shows you didn't ask or they didn't know even though it clearly says plus carer and the phone call clearly hears me talk about the nimbus cards and once you give details they have all the person's needs on thd screen showing they need disabilty access. And then it's my fault for not asking first. Like I know how it all works the customer service is it's own complaints department and when you ask for the person's name they do not give it. So all I wanted was a simply refund as they can't go physically without added assistance and queuing is impossible that's it not special pass or force them give me one just a refund , and a explanation why if someone is ringing up obviously with mobility issues why a simple yes we can help you with your purchase with your nimbus cards BUT we don't have any passes. This would of been ok I will have leave it thanks. But no that would be to nice, they take cash then say no and try utter discussing tactics like a wording of a ticket. Yet under the 2010 disabilty act companies must alter thier policy's to account for differences. So a prime example someone who clearly bought tickets for disabled people who were not informed of sell out of passes and can't physically go should refund as you can't class's them as all the same. This company is a disgrace and absolutely not mobilty friendly. I'm sure iv mentioned everything right monopoly I'm sure you can spin another utter disgusting way to justify it, maybe because I'm autistic you can say it because of that I mean you tried justify you didn't no yet anyone with a ear can listen to full recording. I give you permission put it on here. To let the public can tell I'm purchasing tickets for disabilities. Utter disgrace.

Shocking! Don't buy any expensive passes to bypass the queues if you want to have an autograph or photograph with an actor. You will not get any refund on the upgrade to a diamond pass if the actor cancels. Ticket Quarter has refused to offer a partial refund of the upgrade to the standard entry. (I was still happy to pay for the standard entry). Ticket Quarter have stated that the upgrade can still be used to skip the front door queues at entry and therefore, they are exercising their right to refuse refunding the upgrade portion. I will never use TQ again let alone buy any tickets to attend Comic Con or any event hosted by Monopoly events. (Ticketquarter, Comic Con & Monopoly Events - All are responsible).

Overcrowded, badly organised, money grab. Oversold tickets for guests, don’t get what you pay for unless you’re very lucky and trying to get a refund is literally impossible. Don’t attend unless you’ve got money to waste. Think any positive reviews must be from staff who work there……..

Had an amazing day at Comic Con on the Saturday. Genuinely one of my favourite days I've ever had with my sons who loved it. (One dressed as a stormtrooper!) Loads of cool stuff to see (partner even realised half way through the day that she's a geek and didn't realise!) The sets and characters walking around were all great. The Pop Up Puppet Show Back to the Future was hilarious. Kids had photos with Cat and Kryten from Red Dwarf and we also went to the Red Dwarf Q&A panel. Didn't think we'd be there as long as we were but 7 hours flew by. Thanks to Emma at Monopoly for a great day to remember.

Firstly, I thought the Comic Con had some good things such as the wrestling, props, sensory rooms, spacious halls for the panels and guests, However, it did occur to me early on the Saturday that the event had oversold tickets and that the organization had massively overbooked on guests. I was in the Kevin Smith queue (which was bad enough), and next to me were the Red Dwarf queues and they looked like absolute chaos. So I can't imagine how bad the queues were for the Hobbits. I did see people either faint or have panic attacks around the venues, so the organisers should think about adding less entry tickets next time. I was also left disappointed by the stalls and their lack of variety, as well as overpriced yet limited food options. However for the Sunday, it was a much better experience as the venue was a little less packed and getting autographs were much more manageable and pleasant. Also, some of the staff were extremely helpful to me in changing to a later timeslot when a guest overrun my scheduled timeslot.

Booked photo for Sean Astin was given a 3pm time slot queued up from 2pm ,got near the front and then one lad said it was closed ,no explanation from staff just left about 100 people in a queue absolutely dreadful with no idea what to do as the next persons queue was forming although Sean Aston’s queue was still in the barriers Eventually a few of us had to dislodge gate to get out before a crush ,totally oversold why give a time slot to over 200 people for 30 mins then u have the diamond passes also Next slot was 4.50 pm oh I’d already booked Elijah wood so lost out on £90 ticket due to greed ,monopoly events has zero contact apart from a info email that’s been emailed numerous times not one reply at all basically just ripping people off ,rang ticketetquarter there saying its monopoly events been nearly a week no reply which is a disgrace I swear down one year at this will be a crush or accident ,no good for disabled people ,I could barely get around the shops and escalators,no signs for guests only a pice of a4 paper right at the front of queue Staff rude didn’t have a clue what was going on anywhere ,quick enough when it comes to paying on the front of queues though £11 for 3 chips that’s 3 actual chips not a portion and a can of water ,monopoly event you put greed in front of your customers and I will get my money back

Less than a week ago, I was abroad in Liverpool for the sake of going to Comic Con Liverpool and I enjoyed it alot and I've had the best time of my life meeting Jim Cummings (one of my very favourites), Erika Harlacher, Sarah Miller-Crews and John Cleese, I'll definitely go again if Comic Con Liverpool and Monopoly events bring the Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain casts next year.

Monopoly Events always run a fantastic comic con, and I like going. The guest lineup is always amazing, there's more than enough to see and do, and they're broadly very well organised. The 5th star of the review is there for when some of the queue management is improved for the guests not in the main arena/area. I sadly spent 90% of my day queuing for just 2 things for my last 2 comic cons (an autograph and a photo, and most of that time was just for the autograph), meaning I missed out on pretty much anything else going on and couldn't spend any time with my friends while there. Prioritisation of pre-bought tickets, and/or time slot queues might go a long way to fix this, as they've already noted in some of their "A list" guest queue management.

Great show with lots of things to do and even more guests to see. This year seemed a bit more organised than the last one, I think the extra venue helped. Still, the queueing system still needs some work and I would love to see guests from the comic industry as this is a COMIC CON, as there are so many legends out there that I'm sure lots of people would want to meet. Otherwise maybe it should be renamed to movie or tv con. There is an issue with the photo ops, as they are extremely rushed to the point a hello is all you can say to the guest and 2 seconds later the experience is over. For these prices I would expect something more substantial than a conveyor belt. Overall though, it really is an amazing experience with a tonne of activities and a must show for pop culture fans. For comic fans, maybe not so much.

I went to Manchester comic con and wow was amazed at how professional this company are . From the start I was impressed by the way staff spoke to us . I've been to so many comic cons and they seem rushed and staff talk down to the customers. At monopoly events I found staff to be polite and friendly. A good example is I bought signed banners from them . When at Manchester I met Emily swallow, I seen the banner I had paid for in advance. I asked staff if there was any chance I could get Emily to sign it while I was here . They went straight to Emily and next thing I know I was called over and Emily being the lovely lady that she is signed it there in front of me . There was so many other little things they done but that's just one example. I do hope and pray that this company stay the way they are . I for one will try and go to every show .

Overall we had a fab time at Liverpool Comic Con. I will go through our negatives & positives. Negatives - Crowds - Too crowded in parts of the venue which was dangerous,- also couldn't comfortably walk round the stalls due to bottle neck areas. AirCon - definitely required when queuing for busy guests, far too hot and uncomfortable. Photo Timeslots - No reference made to time slots chosen for photo's therefore that seems pretty pointless and People paying on the day joining the pre-paid queue making it even longer wasn't ideal! Staff/Volunteers - All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful, however there was one lady on ground floor photo studio area who was very rude when I asked where Jared's photo is being held. The way she spoke to me was unacceptable! Security on entry - Although we accept & appreciate security checking bags, the security guard we had was rummaging in my handbag without respect AND with very dirty hands! - It was a small handbag, you could see what was in it by just opening the top, there was absolutely no need to start moving all the contents around in a rough manner. Please feedback to the venue and request guards wear surgical gloves and use hand gel before each search and treat people items with respect! Positives Cosplay was fabulous! Plenty to do and see, - the interactive Daleks were a particular highlight Plenty of seating to have a rest Panels were good & entertaining Lots of Merchandise stalls. ( Just couldn't get to some of them!) Guests were great! Photographer didn't rush attendee's too much and the photo's are good quality. Speed at which they are developed is superb! Overall we had a great time and would certainly go again, just hope that some of the feedback is taken on board from everyone.

Fantastic once again I have been coming now twice a year since 2020 and every year MONOPLY take on board some improvisions resulting in some improvements to the next con, like extra seating and the emptying out between panels. This year was the biggest con yet with the added Mns bank arena. althought i have to say it felt really busy than usual this time round. You guys do a fab job and overall i enjoy every minute but i have a few things that i have observed or lisened to from other customers i qued with. Could we try to improve congestion and queing at the panels Andy please . This has only become a problem since the emptying of panels between each other. Maybe go back to if you arrive early you just open it up and let people go in and sit down or do a virtual ticket system even for free panels you have to pre book a seat. Letting that many people in at 2.50 for example when a apanel starts at 3 causes them to run late and end late resulting in missing photo or auto times,this is not helped by arena staff closing esculaters to the Audertoruim especially for those with walking difficulties. Lastly there was loads of people who booked on the day that just joined pre booked ques i heard it many times throught the day resulting in people who pre booked having to go to later time slotsand still missing out maybe there should be a 5 oclock time slot for each guest at the end of the day for pay on the day customers only but if a guest is sold out on line then no more should be sold even for pay on the day. overrall good job fantastic day and look forward to Novemer .

I do live this con but I have to say Saturday did not go good for me I was a vip and add time slot for Craig Charles autograph what I not get to see him as 1st time ther was leting the normal line in before the vip line I when 3 times and still did not get to meet him I payed a lot of money for the vip but it did not help me at all on the Saturday sunday was a lot beter I think staff members need two know more about times slots and vip lines and with other cons I bin two before with the vip you get a free photo opp eatch day what was all was a good thing am hoping the next one can get better as like I say I do like this event but just add a bad day on the Saturday this time around

I loved both Liverpool events I recently attended however there were a few things I did not like. I found most of the staff very patronising and rude, at my first event I was a little overwhelmed not knowing how the photo ops worked etc. and was shouted at several times and told to hurry up etc. I know there is a tight schedule but a few seconds for me to collect my bag in my own time is expected with the price I paid for the photo op itself. It seems the guests are overbooked to allow for profit and people aren't receiving a positive experience. I have anxiety too and this stressed me out a lot during all the photos. Also, at the last event I attended (my second time) , we decided to book for a panel which started at 6-7pm ish. We did not realise everything else shut at 5pm meaning we could not buy a drink from anywhere. All food/drinks vans had packed up, all the venue cafe's had closed etc. I found myself unable to take important medication as I assumed a busy event would give me an option of drink as it had done all day. We went to leave the venue as we were staying across the road at a hotel but was told if we left and returned, we would be refused re-entry as after 5pm. In the end, I became unwell and a lovely door man actually gave me his own personal unopened bottle of drink. If the panels are later than the event time, an option to leave and return or to buy a drink is a must. The whole event is a very busy time and sometimes it's not until you settle down to wait for a panel you realise you're dehydrated as you've been so busy throughout the day.

I really enjoy monopoly events 2nd time going. Did not experience any que issues. Few things I would complain about is making sure that all price are correct or double check with your guests that the price your advertising is the price they want. Also had a few guests that we had to scan a qr code to go to there personal shop where they charged you more than was advised on your website. Also when it comes to panels making sure that we know if we need tickets or not Otherwise see you in June for Midlands Comic Con
