Competent and empathic customer service operators.
The Barclays representative was courteous and very helpful regarding my query.
High quality interpersonal skills staff and patience dealing with no English speakers
Trying to pay in a cheque for my Aunt who is 92, I have LPA. The online banking access I have does not have the feature to pay in, I cannot use the App because I'm not the account holder. I've asked Barclays for a paying in slip and envelope as suggested by them, they will not post it out to me, I have to go into a branch, very awkward to do, because they have to verify me yet again. I've already given them everything when I got LPA :- passport, driving licence, utility bills, face to face meeting, DOB, inside leg measurement, place of birth, occupation, spouses details, employee details etc etc . They flatly refuse to send 2 bits of paper to my home address. This is to PAY IN money TO Barclays. Absolute disgrace from a completely useless organisation. Anyone who continues to bank with Barclays must be totally insane. The worst of the worst of all damn financial institutions. My response to the Barclays reply :- Do you really think I believe a real person called Kate has responded to my comments? More like an AI bot looking at key words. Proven by the fact it clearly shows my initial comments have not been read or understood, as I've already had to navigate the contact us link to get to the point of ringing you, which took up 45 mins of my time. Listen to the recorded call!! I've fulfilled all your security criteria, included the call itself, yet you deliberately put more barriers up to be awkward, gross incompetence in my book. A blank deposit form and an envelope with your address on is not a security threat. Imbeciles telling me to go to a branch, and grovel for two bits of paper, to then take it to the Post Office and submit the envelope with the cheque in it. What part of CUSTOMER service do you not understand? You're a disgrace to the financial sector.
James was a great help at Birmingham high street bank this morning, excellent service.
I've been with barclays for 2 decades and having all my income and expenses from them however last week they forcefully removed my overdraft of 580 pounds. Im disabled and a widow where sometimes I use this for extra payment. Appalling decisions made and barclays expected a person who had hearing impairment to use a telephone over an appeal. Despicable and pathetic customer services.
Worst bank.Barclay recently closed my account without saying saying any reason.i called the customer service person and they also can't say anything about it.I used barclay only for day to day activities also its my salary account.Faced a lot of problem because of this
Once again Barclays had another outage. Completely unacceptable and disgusting. A multi billion organisation that have had 2 major outages in the space of months. Called spoke to a rude, belligerent argumentative female called Marilyn who refused to log a complaint, called again and was placed on hold then silent hold then she hung up, called again was put on hold for 15 mins and couldn't log a complaint then last call was a rude patronising dismissive and unhelpful agent called Jessica who refused to log complaint and refused to get a manager. Also I can see Barclays are manipulating the reviews - the positive ones are clearly people targeted specifically knowing they will leave a good review, likely because they are embarrassed at about 12000 negative ones. Disgusting bank, disgusting rude dismissive belligerent staff, should be shut down and licence revoked due to these constant outages. People are not safe with this business. Please people stay away, complain and keep escalating.
I made a reservation with booking.com and the transaction didn’t go through and I was charged £359.18. Fifteen days ago. Booking sent me one email saying: Unfortunately, there was a problem with processing your booking at MILANO FOR GUEST- Angela Apartment Duomo and we weren't able to confirm your reservation. As your payment has already been processed, we have automatically started the refund process. Refunds usually arrive in your account within 7-12 days, though this may vary. These additional details may be helpful to track your money with your account provider or our team: Transaction time/date: 2025-08-28T15:20:05Z Payment reference: dd075c76-721f-48ff-b458-dfdb09e5384e If you have any questions, we are here for you. Copyright © 1996-2025 Booking.com. All rights reserved. Because booking.com didn’t refund me until now I opened the dispute and I lost the dispute for no reason. The excuse was completely without any sense. The money left my account I sent the email from booking.com proving that they collected my money but they didn’t refund me. They sent me this document: We’re sorry - we can’t recover your disputed payment We haven’t been able to recover your disputed payment and, unfortunately, this means we can’t give you a refund It’s possible the company may give you a refund if you contact them directly. Alternatively, you can contact your local Citizens Advice Bureau. We understand this isn’t the outcome you were hoping for. If you think there’s more information we should take into account, please contact us as soon as possible. We’re here to help If you have any questions, please call us on 0333 202 7467. We’re here 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. Alternatively you can write to us on the address at the top of this letter with any information that you’d like us to review regarding this payment. Yours sincerely Your Barclays Team Why not? You have the transaction number you have all the details. You are a bank and you don’t support your costumers? I lost £359.18? This is a scam. This is the worst bank. Another thing: if you pay in euros the conversion is very unfair also. choose another bank because this one doesn't care about its customers.
Sadly Barclays haven't been helpful with the dispute I raised for a transaction on my credit card. There were issues with the company that took the payment which filled for bankruptcy at the time and were still taking customer payments. Escalated it to Barclays and they haven't been helpful so I have no choice than to escalate it to FOS. I've provided them with enough evidence and they still refuse to support customers.
All was progressing well enough until my call was cut off, no idea why that happened.
Issue with a rogue attempted payment. Really quick to respond and resolve. Really pleased
Had to set up a Power of Attorney, which was a lengthy and complicated process, the ladies at the branch in Braintree, Essex, went above and beyond to explain and guide me through the process. Once set up, I required a good deal of help from their telephone banking service to operate the account on behalf of someone else and the security procedures involved. Everyone from the branch staff to the various telephone staff have been absolutely brilliant. All of my questions were answered (sometimes in words of one syllable for my benefit), and any issues resolved very quickly indeed. Outstanding support.
Treated with respect and professionalism. My call was dealt with immediately and I was very pleased with how I was dealt with.
I achieved what I needed to do.
Professional service
Not sure whether I’m supposed to be reviewing Trust Pilot or my experience with Barclays
I was given an immediate re-assurance of my problem with Barclaycard.
I've never dealt with such an incompetent company in all my life. Absolutely useless chocolate tea pot will be more useful!!!? Date of experience is ongoing
I didn’t have to wait in line to speak to a real person who was helpful with clearly to understand instructions.

Barclays receives a mix of feedback from its customers, with many praising the helpful and attentive service provided by staff. Reviewers frequently highlight the efficiency and promptness of assistance, noting that issues are often resolved satisfactorily. However, there are significant complaints regarding account management, with some customers expressing frustration over blocked accounts and poor communication from the bank's fraud team. Longtime customers mention a decline in service quality and accessibility, particularly with the closure of local branches. While many appreciate the empathetic approach of staff, others feel let down by the bank's handling of complaints and account issues. Overall, Barclays demonstrates a commitment to customer service, but there are notable areas for improvement.
