I cannot fault the service I received from Rachel Mack. She went that extra mile to ensure that she was able to offer me exactly what I wanted from my river cruise choice. I had many questions and requirements which she dealt with in a friendly, helpful manner whilst remaining professional at all times. It was a pleasure to deal with her, she is a credit to APT.
Very high quality fabulous cruise.
Fabulous boat, immaculately maintained, excellent ports of call, enthusiastic and informative Tour Director, plenty of food and drink, ( though served by less than enthusiastic staff, no eye contact, little rapport ). Overall, an exceptionally good trip. We would strongly recommend APT to anyone considering a small motor yacht cruise.,

Just returned from a fabulous all inclusive river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest with APT. We could not fault the experience in any way. The organisation was exceptional, the staff courteous, friendly and efficient, the food excellent and the excursions delightful. Evening entertainment was provided by Tori and Dave, an all round entertainment duo who made the party swing every evening with the help of our fellow guests from Australia and New Zealand, all overseen by Hedleigh our cruise director. Definitely a 5 star recommendation from us.

A thoroughly enjoyable European River Cruise. As with our other APT holidays, this was also very well organised. The boat was of a very high and comfortable standard. Excellent fine dining and accompanying wines. Plus a really good selection and variety of trips - something to suit everyone.

We have only given this holiday some 6 out of 10. There were some very good excursions, the accommodation, staff and food were very good. But the communal time of 7 pm for dining, and therefore the half hour in the 'lounge' prior to dining, was horrendous. Apart from being too early, to have the whole ship of 160 people on tables of four or six was just too, too noisy. It was impossible to think, let alone try and speak to the couple opposite each night. We, quite frankly, just dreaded having supper each night. Breakfast and lunch was a different ball game in that it was more spread out, with the option of eating in the lounge if desired. We needed a doctor for an ear infection which developed on board - there was no doctor on board, and the name and address of one in Regensberg was totally outdated - ie no-one in residence ! We could have done with a little more help, instead of being at the mercy of a taxi driver, who in fact with the addition of a pharmacy, did help a little.

We were led to believe that this was an all inclusive cruise, however it was not. No champagne included just a German Sekt which we would not consider drinking. Premium brands had to be paid for, i.e Bombay Sapphire Gin. The choice of wine was unacceptable and the serving staff were not trained to advise grape and style of the wines. At meal times being told the wine was red or white was lacking in professionalism. At the Chef's table the seven courses were served far too quickly without time to digest the food. Generally the food was acceptable but not outstanding. We were not given prior warning of changing vessels mid way through the cruise. We except it had to be done if the lock concerned was closed for maintenance, however there was a rumour that the boats just needed to be repositioned. Certain items were not replaced in our cabin, e.g had to ask for toilet rolls and the mini fridge was not topped up unless requested. Butler service was non existent. The lift broke down twice on the second ship and remained disabled! We paid a considerable amount of money for a suite which was not up to our expectations. We have previously sailed with Silver Seas, Azamara & Scenic and the difference in quality and standards was huge. This cruise was billed as "Luxury River Cruising" in the brochure, in our opinion it was far from it.

The crew, especially in the restaurant were really good considering they were relatively inexperienced. The tour guides knew their subject but there was too much information at times, and some of us just 'turned off'. The last day which included the tour of Budapest, then lunch on board the steam hauled train followed by the tour of the castle crammed in too much and by the time we arrived back at the ship, we felt exhausted. Missing out Cologne was disappointing. The quality of the food wasn't as good as last time we were on board. Overnight sailing caused a great deal of vibration. Cupboard doors rattled, the bathroom door kept swinging open and the vent was noisy. We were in cabin 328. This prevented a full nights sleep.

This holiday was sold as a 5* holiday and at best was 4* and no higher. In the middle of the holiday we had to change boats, bags outside room by 7am, hmm another early start then! Staff on the first boat were very good, shame that the second boat seemed to have a complete new crew whose understanding of english was poor. Maybe mixing new crew with experienced would be helpful. I am also doing a letter of complaint to APT covering way more than I wish to type here.

Great tour, both guide and driver, would have been better had they kept to itinerary, poor head office handling and response to complaint.
