Organisation & service was first class on both ships (Vega & Polaris).
I cannot fault the service I received from Rachel Mack. She went that extra mile to ensure that she was able to offer me exactly what I wanted from my river cruise choice. I had many questions and requirements which she dealt with in a friendly, helpful manner whilst remaining professional at all times. It was a pleasure to deal with her, she is a credit to APT.
Very high quality fabulous cruise.
Fabulous boat, immaculately maintained, excellent ports of call, enthusiastic and informative Tour Director, plenty of food and drink, ( though served by less than enthusiastic staff, no eye contact, little rapport ). Overall, an exceptionally good trip. We would strongly recommend APT to anyone considering a small motor yacht cruise.,

We did the same trip with APT some 6/7 years ago. There are definitely cut backs in comparing the two cruises. The entertainment which had been varied and professional was now reduced to the same guitarist every night with his wife a supposed singer. The excursions were very much the same each day lacking imagination and variety. The highlight was the concert in Vienna. The food was good apart from the soup. The French onion soup-oh dear! All the staff were excellent

We booked with APT as we had been with them before, but, it turned out to be with Travel Marvel an inferior partner. We had booked a drinks package as we did previously but were told that certain items were not included. The other annoyance was that we were informed that APT did not do this cruise BUT at the end all the signs were changed from Travel Marvel to APT, so it was a lie and it's the last time we shall use them.

Excellent arrangements & logistics; everything was perfect @ went according to plan. Coach driver superb; had total confidence in him & felt safe. Tour guide was very good; nothing was too much trouble for her. The only minor disappointment was the optional trip to Grouse mountain; the description said there would be lumberjack shows (which we’d been recommended by a friend), but these weren’t happening (too early in the season), and the free shuttle bus wasn’t on for the same reason. However all in all, excellent

The service was excellent - personal and efficient - from booking to disembarkation. Caledonian Sky was a beautiful base for exploring the Adriatic with friendly, hard-working crew and a lovely group of passengers.

Where the ship was moored relevant to Porto was unacceptably far away for access to Porto and for those with mobility issues, quite dangerous. A long walk from the coaches , 350mtrs, to the ship. Not value for money as twice the price of a river cruise recently with another operator which was brilliant. Even those we met who regularly sail with APT were disappointed. Not what we anticipated considering the cost. The dining room was crowded. The crew were excellent although didn’t have quite the feeling that they were happy. The tour guides weren’t as proficient as expected and the leader, Carmen, was irritating. She appeared to blame everything on someone else but when things were ok, she alone took the credit. On our return, friends who were on the cusp of booking the same cruise, have now changed their booking after our experiences. We were guided to complete a satisfaction form but we were encouraged to give them a high rating. We objected to being told how to complete this form as we didn’t trust them to not to destroy negative remarks.

We booked the Danube cruise starting on1st May. We were lucky enough to sail on the APT Solara which was on it’s maiden voyage. The ship was clean and pristine and the seating and furniture were all nice and new. We couldn’t believe how quiet and smooth the ship was, at times we thought we were stationary yet looking out of the balcony window we could see we were moving. The room was spotless when we arrived the bed in particular was very comfortable and the shower nice and hot and had a good head. My wife enjoyed the bow camera on the large tv showing the front of the boat. There were issues with the news channel and film channels which either pixelated or showed a completely different film from the one selected, so there were technical issues. There were two things that need changing for the room, the rubbish bin was far to small and the pillows on the bed were odd one very large one and then a really tiny one. The staff were all very professional, polite and always helpful they literally couldn’t do enough for you, particularly in the restaurants and housekeeping. At this point we have to mention Roland Noordermer the cruise director who was absolutely brilliant , friendly , helpful and so knowledgeable about the areas we were travelling through. Due to the fact that I had just had an operation only a few days prior to travelling , we opted out of some of the excursions, which wasn’t a problem. Staying on board was nice and relaxing and I quite enjoyed the quiet ride down the Danube. The last evening cruise on the Danube in Budapest was amazing with all the buildings lit up and a good selection of music from Roland is not to be missed. One issue that needs addressing regarding the restaurants is the limited menu. We had informed APT prior to travelling that my wife was dairy free which included beef and due to my operation, I was on a low fat diet. Every meal involved beef of one sort or another even the alternatives offered were a beef burger or cheese burger. Most of the cakes or desserts were cream based in one form or another. Most days we ended up with fresh fruit so very little alternatives for us. There was fish on the menu, but very little other choice. We feel there needs to be greater options for people with food allergies. Overall the cruise, ship and staff were superb everything was well organised including transfers to and from the ship. We would thoroughly recommend APT cruises.

My first experience of APT on a Douro cruise and I was very disappointed as it didn't really meet expectations of a luxury brand. The location of the berth in Porto was very inconvenient with a long walk from the bus to the boat including along the sea wall, though a narrow gate, down a steep ramp which caused many people to feel unsafe and across a floating pontoon which disorientated many guests. The food was average and the dining room was very cramped. Cruise Director was vague almost to the point of unhelpful with a general lack of information. Definitely not what I was expecting for the money and I will not use APT again. What a disappointment.

Amazing 2 week river cruise on the travelmarvel cappella best of balkans, boat was lovely cabin was perfect, the cruise director Esme was very attentive and made sure all excursions ran very smoothly. Food was good, nice quality ingredients, although I would have liked to see more local dishes relevant to the area we visited, wine was flowing during meal times. Entertainment was fun and well thought out Sofia and Noel the entertainment staff were amazing. I would definitely recommend to my friends and family.

We had a very relaxing cruise across Danube. The staff on the ship were amazing. They never said No to anything requested. They all went that extra mile to make our holiday a truly enjoyable experience. I am vegetarian, and when requested they cooked us separate main meals everyday. All day trips were very well organised. We provided feedback to the cruise Director after every trip and he took on board on what to improve. It was good value for money.

A very well organised river cruise, due largely to an extremely professional and talented cruise director (Esme), from Budapest to Bucharest. Every need was catered for by the very attentive staff with excellent cuisine, very well designed cabins and varied entertainment. Nearly all the cruise ships are the same size (127m x 11m) with occasional ones twice the width so the difference between the companies is really down to the style of the ships decor, the size of the cabins, the excursions and the food. APT certainly provided excellent value and it is difficult to imagine how any competitor could do better. We will certainly travel with them again.
