The best electricity retailer I have had for 20 years
This is a great company if you use lots of electricity.
They give you warnings when the price is expensive so you can cut back your usage.The rest of the day your power is less then half the price of other power companies.As they price power on how much the are charged,not what they can get away with like other companies.They also send you details in the beginning of each season on their maximum charge related to peak pricing.They also have an app that shows how much power you are using at anytime and how much solar is going back into the grid.
When you have any questions they get back to you quickly.

Outstanding product. We get our electricity at cheaper price and best of all get great export prices. Customer service has been amazing, explaining each questions answer clearly with the assistance to talk us through what we needed to do. Well done guys
A breath of fresh air, with a company that is allowing solar and battery installers to be rewarded for their investment. Other companies, have reduced solar input to 3 cents per kw, an insult. Looking forward to a mutually rewarding experience, where we are rewarded for our investment.
The bomb! Cheapest provider I’ve found and we are using renewables. What’s not to like. Definitely worth investigating the change. Love the latest App update too.
Great pricing, with the ability to save plenty more if you are willing to keep an eye on pricing and manage your usage (e.g. setting an EV to charge early AM)
For those with any sort of home automation, their data can be used to automatically manage high power usage at the cheapest times.
Cheapest I could find, extremely unique offering, and so far at least customer service has been quick and helpful.
I want to love Amber, I really do. But my transfer over to them has been one frustration after another. I signed up early Dec 19, didn't hear anything until January, had to follow up with them. Thought I'd move over to them after my regular meter read mid Jan, but it didn't happen for some reason. Finally got my final meter reading taken in March. It then took 6 weeks for a smart meter to be installed, not Amber's fault as far as I know. A meter reading was taken when the old meter was removed a few weeks ago, yet I'm still waiting for the bill for that period and have had to chase Amber up for it a couple of times. It just seems really disorganised over there. Hope they can get it together because I do really want to love Amber.
Fantastic service - why go with anybody else? Best power prices at wholesale rates. You can get power as cheap as 0.03c-0.04c per kwh in super off peak times (AWESOME if you have an electric car and schedule charging). If you have solar you can pretty easily avoid the pricing during high demand - plus you get a feed-in-tariff. Sometimes you even get paid for using electricity (when there's excess energy - how crazy to get PAID for charging a car, or using the toaster, for example!). 100 percent carbon neutral or pay extra per kw for renewable energy. Such a great service that is going to revolutionise the power industry.

Small but good. And it's legit. My quarterly power bill has been lower by $30-$40 since I switched from the large provider I was with before, and I don't have a smart meter installed. I recommend Amber Electric every time I get the chance.
I've loved the Amber Electric approach since I heard about it almost a year ago. If you're able to use electricity outside the peak times then you'll probably end up ahead.
Positives: No contract, wholesale price plus margin model, green energy, regular smaller bills, great simple dashboard for visibility of current and expected upcoming pricing.
Negatives: Took ages to change to the necessary smart meter (not Amber's fault, and no doubt depends which geography you happen to be in).
Amber Electric have brought the Electricity market out of the hands of big corporates and into the hands of consumers. Paying for the power you use on a rolling wholesale market price, rather than a fixed inflated blanket price provided by a retailer, means that you are able to self regulate when you might put on the washing machine or dishwasher. It’s nice to know that Amber have your back - their fee is fixed each month @ $10 regardless of how much power you use. So they’ll provide tools to show you when power is cheap and when it’s not.
For us, joining Amber was a no brainer. They’re awesome.

Amber Electric have saved me heaps of money in the time I’ve been with them. They are so transparent; customer service is great and I like the monthly rather than quarterly invoices.
