I booked a car from AERCAR pathos. There was no problem booking online I had payed a deposit and already arranged the insurance (full package) When I got there there was new insurance information I did not know about. I’d already chosen full insurance package online but they gave me 3 options, one being pay €50 to be covered, second option was pay €800 and receive it back when dropping the car back and I forgot the third option but I had already agreed insurance on the online contract, I went with the €800 payment option which will be returned as long as you follow the instructions provided at the desk if there are any problems. I was advised I should take pictures of the car for prof of any damages which they all do. The car was covered in dents, cracks and this included a part lose rear bumper. Due to the fact I had paid €800 I took 2 full walk round videos of all the damages and panels of the car. I also decided to only use the car for the two long road trips to my destination and back, as well as two small shopping trips as I was now uncomfortable using the car that was damaged so bad on the chance of losing €800 . When I returned to have the car inspected straight away they said they noticed a crack on the back bumper had I taken any pictures. I showed them the video of the lose clip on the back bumper which was unlined and of the crack they claimed was new which was clearly faded and showed it was old and discoloured. I was then told okay you can have your €800 back but if I had no video evidence I would of been €800 out of pocket so if advise to steer clear as it seems pretty obvious this is a way they make extra income as the car was a bucket. They sent a message for reviews and I think I was a bit to nice with my ratings now I’ve read all the other comments on here. The shuttle bus drivers were great to talk to and very helpful though. A very unpleasant experience.
I was provided with an old Ford Focus estate that was in poor condition with 65,000 km on the clock. When getting the car there were warning lights on the dash and I was told “thats ok” and to ignore them when I questioned this. Overall the collection was quick and easy and that was the last of the good things with AerCar. The air conditioning was worse than anything I have experienced, dropped the internal temperature a few degrees but only when on absolutely full power. Made the driving during the day quite miserable and uncomfortable and you could not talk to anyone in the car over the noise of the fan and air conditioning. I had a blow out at night, which destroyed a tire that needed replacing and I was then charged for as I was told “you destroyed the tire”. Complete sidewall blowout and delamination of the tread from the carcass…..Never mind the fact that the spare tire was also flat, the wheel spanner was not the correct size and there was no jack in the car. Making a relatively straight forward wheel replacement a 90 minute exercise sitting in the dark on the side of the road waiting for a rescue vehicle to get to me. I was then responsible for getting the tire replaced. Great way to waste several hours of my holiday. Credit to the rescue team and Lagrome Trading for getting to me relatively quickly considering the area I was stranded in and then tire replacement in the morning. They were exceptional but only because they had nothing apart from an AerCar account to do the work. Poor maintenance of the vehicle provided and the lack of working tire sensors in the car further confirm this for me, they may have prevented the blowout as a fault would potentially have been raised before the blowout. When changing the tire it was clear this wheel had not been removed for some time, the corrosion between the wheel and the hub required an excessive amount of force to separate the two from each other, a 2ton rachet strap and rubber mallet the only thing to do this on the side of the road against the Armco barrier. The jack and tire spanner would have been useless on their own without the fully kitted rescue vehicle. I would love to see the service records as from the wheel change experience I don’t believe had gone through any maintenance or MOT equivalent anytime. Poor quality vehicle, lacking basics required ie Jack/tire spanner/inflated spare wheel, questionable road worthiness. I will not be using Aercar again and will go further to recommend to anyone not to use them.
We use their cars many times. Fair and decent. good value for your money.

This was my fourth time using this car rental company and as with the other times had a great experience. Great service friendly, professional, was upgraded to a larger car. All from start to finish was smooth and stress free. Service with a smile. Thank you guys! See you again in July.

An absolute nightmare. Agressive people for the very beginning. It is announced as car pick up in the airport and that is false. You have to wait for a man in a car that will pick you up without respecting the arrival order. In our case we were the first in the queue and we had to wait 30 minutes to be picked up in their transport to the place where they have the cars. Not in the airport as it is announced. The guy in charge of the transport was very agressive and rude with all complaining about the service. If you have some problems and need to talk with the emergency car you will be in contact with another agressive and rude guy. We had a problem with the car and not stop shouting us without listening us. Instead of give us the option to change the damaged car he told us that the car was perfect (when we arrived to the office they recognized it was not in conditions to be driven, being unsafe and dangerous). They said the will refund the 1k deposit in one day and we could recover it after 10 days of daily complaints without any explication of the delay for anyone in the company (WhatsApp, mail and phone). I highly recommend expend some euros more with another of the companies in the island in order to avoid ruining your holidays. For us it was a total nightmare dealing with this company and we highly recommend using another company. I had rent cars in different countries and different companies and nothing similar to this. I regret my election choosing this company to save 30-50 euros since I paid with my health and the peace in my holidays. Nightmare in holidays.

This was our experience with AERCAR car rental at Paphos. The car was booked in advance from Discovercars.com and I also added a full car insurance coverage. The car collection instructions were self-explanatory and after waiting for few minutes the driver turned up and picked us up from the airport. We picked up our luggage and went to the rental office. There were two people sitting behind the desk and none of them even bothered to say hello. After waiting for 10 mins suddenly one of them spoke up and said, give me your passport, driving licence and credit card! Sounded like Arnie from the Terminator “Give me your boots your clothes and your motorcycle” I was like OK… Once the paperwork was completed, I was advised and reminded to take photographs of the car inspect and fill the sheet including scratches, damage etc… before driving off the yard. That was very strange as I never had to do anything like it with other car rental companies. The car given to us was a white Kia Ceed. I did record the whole car, undercarriage including interior. After the inspection, my family and I sat in a car, and I was welcomed with this enormously thick steering wheel cover a worn-out clutch and a warning message on the dashboard “Check tyre pressure low”! Checked the tyres and it looked OK. As I drove the car and used brakes it started making clunking noises once the brake pedal was disengaged, I assume it had a worn-out ball joints or bushes. We finally managed to get to our hotel and then few days later decided to go to explore the island. We went to mountain side and drove on E740 road. The road did have warning signs “danger falling rocks”. As we were driving down the mountain around the corner, two rocks fell off and one of them went under the car hitting fuel tank. We only realised something bad has happened after smelling fuel inside the car. We managed to pull over and park on the side of the road. The fuel was leaking very badly so I called Aercar customer service and reported the incident. Unsurprisingly I was greeted with an anger and telling me off for driving off-road. The accident happened in this location, google maps 35.079167, 32.621297 judge it for yourself if this road is an off-road to you. Then I was told off for crossing the border and driving on the Turkish side, which we never did. Anyway, I had to send my location and few photos which I did. Someone came to pick us up within 1hour 30mins which was quick. So, now we are back at AERCAR rental office and as the first time, no one was bothered to say hello. I was called in and politely reminded not to drive off-road and somehow the lady knew that road very well. I was so mad and showed the video of the road and she was speechless. I was then suddenly told to fill incident report and pay €950 for the damage which I did. After the paperwork I was given a replacement car which was Fiat Panda. Again, they reminded me of inspecting the car and taking photographs of the damage etc… That day we drove straight to the hotel and left it in a car park. BTW the exhaust on this thing was rattling like a hell and the brakes were squeaking like a train stopping to a station. The next morning, I was kindly surprised with a flat tire. I reported incident to the office and they sent out an engineer to replace the tire. I was going to change it myself but the spare tire was also flat, how good is that! OK, we are back on the road and approaching a tunnel, I turn the lights on and suddenly I’m welcomed with an engine management light! Pulled over, turned the engine and lights off and started the car. The low tyre warning message was displayed but at least the fault code was cleared for now. The car returning process was very smooth, why? because there was a British person behind the desk. He checked the car and voided a credit card fee. I told him about the car and was told there are worst cars then this! Paphos AERCAR if you read this, please recruit someone with a smile and knows how to treat customers and scrap dangerous cars instead of given them to your customers! Would I hire a car from you again? A big fat NO! Honestly, I would stair away and rather pay more and have a safe car instead.

Very poor service. I was involved in an incident where Google maps routed me through a bad patch of road where one of my car's tyre had burst. There was no spare tyre in the car. I called the emergency helpline as advised and the recovery vehicle they sent reached 2 hrs late. I had informed the police as well who helped the recovery van to reach us. It took me over 5 hrs to get moving again and we were stuck on the road with small kids for 5 hrs with no food or water. There was no other damage to the car. When I returned the car, the first thing I was told that I shouldn't have gone off roading and no apologies offered for giving a car with no spare tyre. I never wanted to go off roading. It was a bad patch on the broken road. I am not sure what was I supposed to do? I got charged 850 EUR for a tyre change. This company is a scam. I will never advise Aercar.

I already had the car from them 2x and there never was a problem. I must say I was quite worried when reading the trustpilot ratings, but in my case, really, it was all ok! On time, no scam regarding scratches etc. - they even recommended us to take pictures at pick-up, which is a very fair communication style. I will most probably book with them in the future again!

I read the reviews after booking a hire car at Paphos airport... OMG what had I done! On arrival at the airport I couldn't find a desk for the company, but asked one of the other rental companies who informed me to go to the car park number 5. This I did, and found a small sign with a contact number. On making the call I received a "number not recognised". So I found a number, called them, and my call was answered just as a shuttle bus arrived. A quick 5 minute or so shuttle to a tiny office and within a short few minutes I had a Vauxhall Astra. OK, a few miles on the clock (20,000, maybe a bit more) but all worked well and I had a great holiday. Return was a breeze. I was impressed by the simplicity, courteous staff, perfectly reasonable car and it was amazingly cheap... Really glad I was able to see beyond the negative comments and the somewhat relaxed approach... I would definitely use again. Thank-you for everything AERCAR, you delivered exactly what I needed for a succesful holiday.

Dreadful company. Car wasn’t well maintained, front left tyre had little tread, and fuel gauge didn’t work. However this was nothing compared to returning the car today, when they tell me there is a missing piece of plastic below the wing mirror and proceeded to charge me €670 for it. Car hire dates 23rd Feb 2025 for a week. I have visited Cyprus over a dozen times but I don’t think I will come back, when the authorities allow companies like these to continue their sharp practices.

Avoid these thieves. Whilst booking I was assured that the car could be used in the North. When I went to collect they knew already of my intentions & denied me rental & wouldn’t refund either. They seemed to think it was funny until I told the receptionist that he should step outside with me, but of course the little coward ran away & hid. Pretending to work to avoid me. As I’ve paid via credit card, I will be reporting this theft to them for a refund & consumer protection in the UK will be investigating as my old employer they’ve been informed. Pay a little extra & rent from a western reputable rental firm. These fools are living in the dark ages.
