Review summary
48 Mobile has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and great value, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
The worst operator I've ever used. The internet is absolutely unstable. The speed is 0.2mb/s and this is 4g coverage? According to diagnostics, it feels like they're "scattering" it across different servers, like some kind of parasite. Ping is crazy. +- normal internet only at night. I don't recommend it
False Advertising Buyer Beware.
You have to purchase a plan by contract before you get your free month and then you have very little data as they say it's a FAIR USAGE POLICY.
Absolutely A Disgrace.
It Looks like a great deal but it's not.
Beware.
Absolutely terrible. Indescribably useless. Data rarely ever works, and if it does, itβs 3g. There is no roaming despite what they say. Iβve tried everything and even got in contact with 48 to fix the issue and still nothing works. On top of that, you are not able to call non Irish numbers. UK, Spain, America etc. Complete joke. I donβt understand how something can be so useless. I am not usually the type to leave reviews and complain about things, but holy god 48 is terrible. The price is good, but the quality of services needs a serious overhaul.
Couldn't register, contacted so called customer care (bot) finally got through to agent she assured me she had set me up and brought my number over.12hrs later I'm still waiting for no to be ported to 48. Unless I connect to home Wi-Fi, I have no Internet, no phone, no text's, nothing. Absolutely disgraceful. Sorry I went near them. I won't be staying with them that's for sure. As soon as I get my number up and running .I'll be running elsewhere.
Absolute disgrace
48 at home I found to be great and excellent value, compared to the other networks, but unfortunately that can not be siad for its roaming, itβs none existent, even crossing the border to Northern Ireland.Yes 48 I did try to operate it manually, but still no joy, it appears a lot of people have this experience. Itβs a pity other wise I would have given it 5 stars.
Membership did not renew.
Cannot make calls etc..
I was credit a membership from 48 that didn't renew today.
2nd time I've had problems.
In march this year I had an extra membership paid for.
In April it did not renew.
I had to go online and purchase another membership for April.
I contacted 48,
They said it was a glitch
And I would be credited the march membership that I paid for (but did not renew).
This morning as of 6.34am
It has not renewed to the credit membership I was owed.
Now it won't even let me purchase a new membership on the app/ on line,

Update:
All sorted.
I called 48 at their 1800 number,
I was talking to an agent.
I told him everything as on the post above,
I got my credit membership and my phone is back working, sorted after 9am same day.
I would like to add he said my auto renew
was off .
I dont know how that happened, I didn't turn it off.
I will keep an eye on that for next month.
If it happens again
I will move my
number.
This company is a pile of CRAP
Stay away, signed up to there service and the charged me double, had no service, no internet, had to pick up a delivery and tried to use Google maps
would not work so could not pick up delivery, tried to contact them go a machine rang complaints line they didn't want to know. They told me to talk to support (the machine) still no internet I said to them I'm cancelling and the said that I'm contracted for 6 months even though the say you can cancel any time. I'm taking SIM out of phone and putting it in the bin. I had to give 1 star to leave this review.
If I could have I would have left MINUS 8.Terrible setup Thanks
I contacted the agent before I purchased a plan. I asked that if the student membership eligible for the second month free. The agent said that the student membership is eligible for the second month free. And I made my desicion, bought student membership. ButI realised that there is no second month free and I haven't received my free credit. I have a screenshot of the agent. Could you please help me to have my second month free? I have misinformed and your agent effected my decision.
this service is the biggest load of garbage you will ever come across, during my two months with this service provider all services were quite spotty, first of all the data worked virtually nowhere and the places it did work it wasbt even capable of loading up a google search, second the quality of calls were beyond horrific, finally they tried to pretend that i didnt have an extra month paid for claiming that it was an accident.
I've been with 48.ie since it cost β¬7.99p/m, and for most of the time it has served me well. Having said that, I make very few calls or texts, and usually am connected to Wi-Fi. My problem is that when travelling abroad it is a roll of the dice as to whether I'll get a service. Last year in the UK for a day I could not get connected. I have recently returned from a week in Italy and apart from a welcome text from 48, my phone could not connect. If it weren't for Wi-Fi I'd have been in deep trouble. I did manage to get through on a chat, but after 50 minutes I was told the problem was with my phone. I arrived back to Ireland and immediately got reconnected! I will be looking for an alternative before I go abroad again.
Ordered a SIM on March 21st. It said 2-3 business days. Ordered a second time on April 3rd. It said 5-7 business days. Contacted support, they assured me the second one would definitely arrive. It's now April 18th, nothing. Going to look elsewhere.
Firstly, it took over a week for my free SIM card to arrive. After following what seemed to be simple instructions, I had to contact 48 customer services in order to check the status on the transfer of my old number to 48 mobile. 48 mobile advised it would take a couple of hours for the transfer to be completed. After 4 hours I still had not received a test or email advising on the status of my account. I contacting 48 mobile again, only to be told that there was an issue with my previous mobile provider and that 48 mobile would have to send through a new port request. Their customer services did not read or reply to me coherently. English not being their first language did not help either. I told them not to do this and for them to cancel my account and SIM. The next day when I realised my old number was not longer working, I contacted 48 mobile again. Went through everything with them again and was told I would have to wait 3-5 working days for the port to their systems removed. Absolutely dreadful. You get what you pay for, as they say. I dont know how 48 mobile are advertising that they are the best mobile provider currently. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE TO 48 MOBILE UNLESS YOU WANT A WORLD OF ISSUES
