BLATENT LIES TOLD TO ME They wanted to switch me over to a PAYG meter, which I didn't want. They said they were doing it on a Friday so on Thursday had a one and a half hour conversation with someone that cut off at 5.01pm because the office shut, Next morning I spoke to someone and they guaranteed me my meter would not switch over, and literally did whilst on the phone to him. Customer service in bad situation

This review is solely to note the exceptional customer service from Yu colleage Ritica. I had a number of major issues on my account, primarily arising from the need to switch over the contract from my recently passed away father to my name. Ritica went above and beyond to resolve the complex problems on the account. Her commercial and management IQ was far above my expectations and a guiding light in what was a difficult situation to manage. I note that this was after several bad experiences with Yu's billing system and other confused customer service agents.

Appalling service

After signing a 3 year contract with Yu, they inexplicably changed my meter to PAYG, even though they had billed me for electricity & there was a DD in place. Yesterday, during lunch & at our busiest period, the electricity was disconnected. We had to close our premises as we could not trade. After a 50 minute wait, I was told I would have to top up, which I did. The following day, the credit ran out as most of it had been used to pay the bill which is on DD. Again no electricity & I’m currently waiting to speak with someone. So far I’ve been waiting 45 minutes

Extortion...

This company appear to be extortionists. I let my house to a company who opened an account with Yu. In doing so my house electricity supply was changed from a residential supply to a business supply without my knowledge or approval - it is a simple three bedroom house in a small village. I have told the company that it is the wrong designation and that I want to move back in, but they simply refuse to accept the instruction and keep opening new accounts (three so far I think) rather than allowing me to close the account and move to another supplier. They are charging over £3 per day just in standing charge and will not let me leave. Its crazy! They won't even tell me how to leave their grip or what I am doing wrong. Do not go near this company as they make your life a living hell - oh and did I mention that they have cut off the supply as well, just to make working in the house impossible. What a crooked bunch. PS Yu Energy Complaints responded to this the same day it was posted and have offered to sort this out in a reasonable way.....let's see if they follow through! Sadly it looks like Yu are already trying not to do what was offered.....this is becoming quite the soap opera, rather like trying to call their call centre, a very very long soap opera 🤣 PPS I spoke too soon. Yu said the right thing but then have NOT done what was agreed. They seem to have reverted to their extortion business model....shame. DO NOT USE the COMPANY!

Credit Refund

I have a credit on my account, I was told I was going to get a refund, however a random transfer was added to my account and now is a debit. Trying to contact someone to explain? I am on a Smart PAYG meter so have no idea how a debit can be added. Someone please contact me asap.

100 percent awful

100 percent awful - do not get involved with this company 6 weeks and countign and they have 'no capacity' to repair a meter with an error message - cant switch to another company until meter is fixed and meanwhile they are MAKING UP the bills. New business lease , left with a right time consuming mess - have reported this now and hopefully ombudmen can hellp . Never reply to any cases raised , never do what they say they will and never call back. Seriously poor verging on criminal.

Wish I could give zero stars

Wish I could give zero stars. We have been waiting for our refund for months. I am regularly told it is 'being processed this week'. Unsurprisingly, still no refund in my account. Be very careful with this company - fraudulent behaviour.

I have been fairly unhappy with Yu Energy as a new customer

I have been fairly unhappy with Yu Energy so far and am a new customer. This is due to the amount of time to contact anyone in Customer Services, by phone, by live chat, via your online form, via email - all leaving me feeling dissatisfied and unheard. This is my 3rd week of chasing for a result and 6 attempts on your live chat today but eventually, I was put through to Chand who has been brilliant and needs to be commended. Patient, listening, understanding and not avoiding sorting out the problem. To be fair, I am unsure yet if it is resolved as I have to wait for the case to develop, however it has been dealt with very well today for the first time. All previous communication with other Yu Energy employees have been disastrous by the way. Thank you Chand!

I have a account number but it does not…

I have a account number but it does not recognise it, so I need to ring customer service, it tells me wait 10 mins ! fine. 2 hours later still on hold then the line goes dead I want invoices I want to speak to somebody useless the only thing they are good at is taking my money and my time !!!! do not use

Bobby Kalar yu energy joke company

This is undisputedly the worst energy supplier on the market ,to quote the ceo Mr Kalar he created the company because of his own frustrations with energy suppliers , it seems he has drawn from the worst of his experiences and adopted them as a model for this company they do not reply to emails ,the website sends you round in circles live chat is a joke account number not recognised so cannot access portal ,open up their website and click on request a call back you get a phone number for you to ring them this whole business model and customer care stinks account number 2000227867 the last review was replied to "confirm your account number to prove genuine complaint " did it ,no further reply do Not sign up with this company or expect the worse possible future Love energy you ought to be ashamed of yourselves putting your customers with this terrible company .. Point of reference i have had this identical reply ,obviously automated following previous reviews please read and make your own mind up as to their integrity and the respondent As if

Technical Enquiry

Very positive experience. After multiple attempts to get an answer about the installation of a double pole isolation switch and receiving no response, I have spoken with Chand and explained the situation. He was able to explain that this isn't a service that is currently provided and gave us documentation so we can get this carried out ourselves via a qualified electrician.

Worst energy supplier in the world

Yu Energy are the worst energy supplier I have ever dealt with in thirty years. My business was switched to their supply by a third party without my express consent. We tried to set up an online account with them multiple times with no success and no assistance from their customer service team. For this reason, we were not able to view our bills. Despite numerous attempts to contact the company, without warning they switched us to a PAYG meter. After charging us over five hundred pounds to switch back to regular supply, which was 11 days ago, our supply has not been switched back and Yu energy have cut our supply fully leaving our business unable to operate, even though we are significantly in credit with them. I would rather liquidate my business than continue to work with them as an energy supplier. Their customer service is dreadful and this has been the worst experience I or my team at work have ever had with any energy company. I cannot recommend strongly enough to avoid ever using their services and only hope that someone reading this will stop and think before signing a contract.
