Great teachers!
Kathrin has been an amazing teacher for the last year... Very friendly and engaging with the children and able to lead the lesson so that all the children get to improve and have a good time.
Water Babies receives consistently positive reviews. Customers particularly appreciate professional and service, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.

The swim instructors are fantastic, we had 2 in our time with water babies. From our first lesson when my little one was 6 weeks old to my last session when she was 8 months old. They were kind, helpful & most of all kept us safe in the water whilst having fun and bonding with our babies. It definitely helped my confidence & my little one has always loved the water & isn't scared at all. The only reason for 1 star short of 5 was the venue, because it is a private school it wasn't catered for the usual public swimming. So the changing facilities weren't set up with cubicles, showers, changing tables for babies etc. However, it was very local for us, so we were happy to compromise on this. We could have had lessons further afield with a more formal changing facility but this wasn't practical for us to travel.
Toria the waterbabies instructor at jethen house is absolutely amazing!! She goes above and beyond to make parents and children feel comfortable, supported and heard. Nothing is too much trouble and any concerns you have regarding swimming with your little one is always taken into consideration and the support you didnt even know you needed is alway's given to make you feel confident and ready to swim with you baby. You can really tell the passion she has for waterbabies not only as an instructor but also as a parent who has been through it twice. Im so so glad I chose waterbabies and im so so glad we were put into Torias class.
Lessons are progressive and so much fun for me and my daughter. We have been attending since she was 12 weeks old and have no intentions to stop. The confidence gained in just 14 weeks is incredible. Lessons do tend to run late meaning we start later than expected, and this obviously will happen when dealing with children! but I have noticed that our session is occasionally cut five minutes short which is disappointing considering each session is over £20 for half hour.

Very poor communication from the customer service on the telephone conversation very unkind and rude. I was transferred to another pool without information and the moment my son went to swim to the usual pool they returned him and already he was in water, the baby cried and very upset . Bad treatment all they wanted is money only. I would never wish to join the pool again or recommend the colleges to join

Every lesson is well structured and it’s great to see the babies making progress and learning. All the instructors are friendly and informative and it’s very easy to rebook catch up sessions if needed. They are very accommodating. It is however very expensive!!

My little boy loves his lessons and instructor,he’s a very sociable and playful baby so the lessons are perfect for him and it means he gets to spend quality time with his dad,he’s been going for quite a few months and he gets excited when he knows where he’s going and that’s down to how much he enjoys the lessons, the staff are amazing and the underwater photo shoots are amazing too! We’re always kept upto date via email about classes and products Highly recommended from a very happy mummy and baby :)

I was keen to take my daughter swimming as I'd enjoyed going with her big sister, but the independent business we went with before were having issues with the local pool, so I decided to try Water Babies instead. I shouldn't have bothered! I felt almost pressured into booking: rang me up to book and told to pay straight away on the phone - only then was I told how much it was as I was telling them my card details. I didn't know the price prior to paying it - there's nothing online, not even a price range. I knew they wouldn't be cheap, but I would've liked to have had time to think it over. (This is also not taking into account that I have anxiety so I find it difficult on the phone - however, there is no other way to book after you send an enquiry.) I also enquired (in July) about booking for Sept start, but was told a space was available on the July course - the first lesson in 3 days' time. I told the lady on the phone that I was thinking Sept as we were away in a week so would miss the 2nd lesson and didn't want to pay for something I wasn't going to attend, but she told me it was okay and we'd reschedule the one I'd miss for another local one. Beware - they tell you things on the phone to sell the classes to you - it's not true! I told the instructor that we were missing the following lesson and she said she'd get someone to ring me to rearrange, but this never happened and consequently I lost my money for that lesson. I wouldn't have booked for July if I'd known that and not been told otherwise. A closer look at the Terms and Conditions states that you have to take 8 lessons before you can cancel and even if you don't accept the Ts and Cs or turn up to your first lesson, you still become a 'current client' and have to take the 8 lessons anyway. You also aren't allowed to reschedule lessons in this 'introductory period' - so I don't know what the lady who booked us on was on about! Because of the price and losing that lesson, I can't afford to take anymore, so I decided to cancel. A couple of days after sending the cancellation email in 1st week of Sept, I got an email back telling me to ring them to 'chat about it'--see above, I get anxious on the phone. Nevertheless, when I tried, I couldn't even get through anyway. Customer service constantly takes you to voicemail. A week later, got the cancellation confirmed email - only to say that, despite the fact I'd given a 4 week notice period (at this point three lessons remaining), I had to stay until the end of October as per the 'notice period' in the Terms and Conditions - so 8 lessons after I'd sent the cancellation email! I've given the Ts&Cs another read and yes, it says that [I quote: "When we receive your written notice, your subscription will end on the last scheduled lesson in the following month (For example, if you give notice at any point in January, your subscription will end on the last scheduled lesson in February)."] But I don't think that's fair as it means you essentially have to cancel two months in advance of when you want to finish. So, when I first booked, then?? The classes are fine, but our pool was small and the instructors don't really interact with the babies or call them by their names. It definitely felt like we were expected to know lots of things already, especially about underwater dunks (you can ask them not to take your baby under, but beware that they do include loads of underwater stuff straight away) and when our instructor changed, the new one didn't seem to know what we'd done or not. Avoid Water Babies! It looks like other people have had the same issue with unfair Ts&Cs that you don't get to see until they've already taken your money.

Unfortunately, not the most successful experience with water babies. I was a client of water babies for over a year swimming with my daughter with Water Babies North London and eventually had to split apart with this company and look for other swimming classes elsewhere. Water Babies is highly profit oriented company focusing on how to get money out of your bank account but not to deliver high quality service (swimming classes). We were not able to attend our classes for nearly 3 months due to my daughter’ s poor health condition and Water Babies didn’t even bother to inquire whether we were alright - just sucking money from my account. A business with high ethical standard would never allow this go this route - would suggest freezing or temporarily cancelling membership with them. I would name this theft - this is it getting money and delivering nothing in return. Second issue was with managing their swimming classes. They do everything the way that would suit them. Hypocrites. Last term my daughter was assigned to a different swimming group as our class was cancelled. This term when I asked to join the same group for make up classes they kicked us out of the swimming pool justifying this that this class was the way too advanced for my daughter. Thirdly, there is overall lack of respect when treating their clients. They speak to parents in a patronizing way- I literally felt like I am a school girl who would be told off every single Thursday morning….There is a lot of “You Can’t” - can’t use the shower, can’t sit on this bench, can’t eat can’t drink in the changing room… I would be careful when dealing with this company.

My son loves the WaterBabies classes, and is so confident and happy in the water. For a while he didn’t want to go underwater but our lovely teacher Sam has gently guided us both through the ‘water wobbles’ and her lessons are fun and varied. Always a highlight of our week!

My daughter has been coming to water babies since she was about 8 months old, and she’s still very excited to attend. Each lesson has been adapted for her skill level, and there is no pressure to do everything in the class, just what my daughter feels comfortable doing that day. Kate is so friendly and makes every session fun and engaging, for the group of children in her classes, that now my 2 and a half old talks about her like a friend. We like how easy it is to swap days if we are unable to attend that week, so we don’t miss out.

A great experience with your little ones! My daughter loves it! Only thing I’d say is it is a little pricy compared to other swimming lesson groups but I wouldn’t change now as my daughter loves her teacher and I feel they teach them so much that is definitely needed when learning to swim! Including drowning prevention days.

Water babies is absolutely amazing! My little girl started at a few months old and she’s loved it ever since. I was a super nervous mum who was very scared of water for my little girl but this really has made me realise as long as my little girl knows what to do in an emergency if she fell in she is absolutely fine. She can now swim well and do key skills at the age of 18minths and it’s absolutely amazing to watch and be part of this process. Not to add the instructors are highly qualified and all love their job. There is no Pressure to do things and you and your baby can do things when you feel comfortable. As a mum I really love my Monday mornings to allow my little girl to spend some time with her friends and for me to meet other mums also!! It’s good in everywhere and I can promise you that you won’t regret it when you have a child who can swim confidently and you don’t have to panic about them drowning!! If you’re thinking about it, do you!!
