Travis Perkins Plymouth (Sutton Road) Go Above and Beyojnd
Travis Perkins Plymouth (Sutton Road) have been absolutely amazing, going above and beyond to help our youth theatre bring a performance to life at Totnes Castle. Matt and Mack have borne been so helpful and giving of their time and energy, Mack single handedly delivered Heras fencing up to the castle in the heat, thank you!
I realised I had made a mistake with an online order for 4 fence panel's when I received a text notification of the date of delivery. They were due for delivery from a supplier in 2 days time. Slightly stressed, about the possible cost implications if I was too late to cancel the order, I had a problem as the website contact number was incorrect. I had a call with Mark (workington Store) who put me in touch with Stuart ( Online team) who sorted it out for me. He cancelled my order with the supplier. Both were friendly, understanding, professional and quick to act. Thanks for great customer service. Lynn
Travis Perkins Rhondda are superb. I have been buying stuff here regularly for when I visit to help get my daughter’s place sorted. They have simply been great from the start. Advice on setting up an account, making it easy to order with them, helpful when I go into the branch. Friendly and accurate info always supplied. Bought from them over six times , had deliveries four times and all gone perfect. Danny, Ryan and the rest of the team, I thoroughly recommend you.
I had an urgent need for bricks and building sand, as I had my bricklayer for a few more days.
I called the Canterbury branch, and Mike was invaluable; he visited the site on the same day to ensure I could obtain the correct bricks for next-day delivery, as the bricks I had ordered would have taken another week to arrive. The delivery driver was also very helpful. Best team ever.
A giant Travis Perkins lorry arrived on my street today at 8:30am, he did come at 7:45am and then went away for some reason. The location where the building material was being delivered is a school walking route for young children from three schools within 200 metres, plus they dumped it all on the pavement, literally on the children's exact route. This was during rush hour and no warning signage was put out for their safety nor concern or consideration for the young kids, whilst Travis Perkins used heavy, dangerous machinery - moving heavy, dangerous cargo.
Another issue is that due to the dead end of the road and both sides having terraced house parking, plus the fact cars have been previously damaged (including mine), I firmly believe politely asking to move my car and asking where the delivery zone is very reasonable. Being met with "what's it got to do with you" "and none of your business" and "go away and get in your house" is not acceptable. He refused to tell me where he was putting the material, which turned out to be yards from my home, whilst being under a foot from my car. Yes I swore once when declaring the car a foot away from him was f**ing mine so that made it my business but it was the best I could do in the circumstances.
His initial approach escalated the situation, all he had to do was be polite and tell me what he was doing and allow me to move by car. He took a confrontational approach which very nearly turned nasty and I just barely walked away.
He also lifted the building materials over multiple cars and left people blocked in during rush hour, but clearly the health and safety of youngsters is paramount.
I appreciate that a drop off in a tiny terraced street, with a dead end with cars on both sides is not easy but surely this could have been handled better. Why rush hour in a multiple school zone? why not allow people to move their cars? I got a call from a member of the Travis Perkins team in Morecambe just now. He said there were no children in the photos I sent, I advised that would be illegal but I proved everything else via appropriate photos. But the fact that it was Monday 8:30am with 3 schools within 200 metres perhaps allows a bit of intelligence to be used without photos of children almost being killed being needed. He also said the delivery driver can do what they want at their own discretion. frightening. My conclusion is that we are dealing with a Company, at least in the Lancaster/ Morecambe area, who believe that they are unaccountable.
I work with Travis Perkins on MOD and Nuclear contracts but this is my first exposure to them as a "civilian". Not good at all. I would strongly consider other providers or even sorting it yourself, privately
Update 26/10/23 - It has been many weeks now and no feedback received. Clear demonstration of lack of care regarding health and safety and no general concern for the local residents.
Not received the delivery on time, I have to pay the builder £300 for work, when There is no material, just rang them now if someone can deliver today, now the delivery will be on Monday, the gentleman over the phone blamed us for not picking the phone up, when the driver could have knocked on the door.
Travis Perkins Dagenham branch. Our supplier of cement always on time. Absolutely excellent customer service thank you Paul
Diverse screed and rasin. We look forward to work travis perkins
Rang Customer Services to change my details and the experience was very positive, and a nice young lady sorted everything out. She was polite and friendly, so nice to have that treatment on the telephone. I used Colchester Branch a lot before moving and was always happy with the service. Will be using a new branch soon, so will comment after visiting
Mark the driver from the Hemel Hempstead branch turned up today on time with a smile on his face as always. He was very careful and professional whilst using the hiab. He’s a massive credit to Travis as his skills on the hiab are second to none with delivering my goods in awkward places and exactly where I wanted them. Thanks again mark and look forward to seeing u on all our jobs
Travis Perkins Hull…
Was served quickly in the yard when wanting materials, went to pay and get stuff from counter and was pretty much blanked by the 5 members of staff in there, 2 stacking shelves, 1 on the phone/ with a customer 2 on phones at the back, 1 local was served before me as he just wanted 2 boxes of screws and would be “back later to pay” I was stood for another 5 mins being ignored, when asked if someone could help me I was greeted with a snappy “I’m busy with a customer”
Not very helpful at all, needless to say I won’t be using that particular branch again when in that area !!
I received a delivery today from the Slough branch by driver Mariusz.
Unfortunately there was nobody to help him unload but without question he unloaded my delivery alone (20 x 2.4m floorboards) and with a smile. He was friendly, polite and helpful and a great ambassador for Travis Perkins. Well done, excellent work
