Very helpful staff at the Kendal shop

Very helpful staff at the Kendal shop, as always. Item I wanted not in stock, but very quickly arrived. This shopping experience marred by the fact I couldn’t order online. I’ve used the website plenty of times before with no problem, but this time didn’t work. I put things in my trolley, but when I went to the trolley, they weren’t there. I don’t think I was doing anything stupid. Hopefully it we be back to normal next time.

Poor service from Toolstation

I ordered a 5L tin of Barrettine Decking Oil on-line. When the order arrived I was so disappointed to find that the wrong colour had been despatched. I was very disappointed as I was all ready to start treating my decking. How can the wrong colour be despatched? To try and resolve the situation I had an on-line “chat” with one of their agents. It turned out that I could not get a replacement tin until Toolstation had received the original order back. The only way that I could get a replacement was to visit a branch that had the correct tin in stock. This meant that I had to make a 20 mile round trip. As this error was not my fault I asked the agent if Toolstation would cover my travel costs? This was declined as it was not company policy. Poor service from Toolstation.

On line order

I ordered, on line, a security light and some bits and pieces for refurbishing a radiator. I received an email straight away confirming the order and also another email letting me know when the items would be ready for collection. Unfortunately, the security light was being delivered after the other items as it was not held at the store. I could have had them delivered free of charge but waited a few days and went to the store and collected. The order was ready for me when I arrived. The service is always very good at my local store in Haworth and the staff are helpful.
