Lake Garda Tour - Disappointed

Our first Titan trip. The collection from home/return transport worked well, even though we didn't know the transport would be shared. This was not made clear on booking. The Hotel du Lac was clean and functional and not 4* in our opinion. The biggest let down was the food. We made it very clear on the booking, in the pre-trip WhatsApp group and on arrival that we are vegetarians. This appeared alien to the restaurant manager unfortunately. We ate out 3 nights as we couldn't face the pedestrian food. Italy is one of the best cuisines for non meat eaters but sadly Chef appeared to favour frozen veggie patties and tinned vegetables. Yuk. An oddity was having to order dinner at breakfast and always sit in the same place. Never experienced that before anywhere in the world. The Titan tour guide was very scatty and disorganised. She often changed group instructions/meet up points which confused people. Sadly I don't think she had ever been to the region before. She didn't know a great deal and whilst she was Italian, her command of English did not meet our expectations. On arrival at the airport, rather than a general welcome to the region and introduction to the tour, she spent the time reading from a folder telling us how much it costs to buy water at the hotel and on the bus. Each evening she would send a long cut and paste information message on WhatsApp giving details about the next day's trip. It would've been far better to have a knowledgeable guide who knows the area and who can speak about this face-to-face. Not impressed to be honest. On the day trip to Venice, she said on the bus 'well you will all know more about the place than me'?! That just about sums up the trip. She was however, kind and supportive to the elderly single passengers and provided chummy companionship. We weren't looking for that, we expected a first class Tour Manager who added value beyond the basics. We have just booked another trip later this year, a long haul trip to Africa, and we decided against Titan sorry.

titan has died

The titan Quality has died !!! gone is the help at the airport , that was always such a help when checking in , especially when ones hearing is very poor . My room in Hotel L`Approdo lake Orta.was of a decent size ,and a very comfortable bed , the bath room was very dated , and the drain in the shower so slow I was in danger of flooding the room . The air con in the bedroom did not work ,and the temperature was over 30 degrees . This I reported after the first night , I was told sorry there was a problem, after the second night and another extremely hot sleepless one , I had to ask if they would please find me a fan ! consequently sleeping with the window open the rest of the week , I had masses of mosquito bites . The trip to Zermatt is rather long ,with only a very quick comfort stop ,not even time for a drink . I have had many holidays in the past with titan ,even taking my elderly parents never any complaints .This will be the last .

Excellent booking experience

Spoke to Chandan Shekhawat to establish availability and further details about the Magic of the Nile tour. He was patient, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We never felt rushed or pressured to make a quick decision. As a result we felt confident in booking with your company.

Fantastic Route 66

Recently returned from a road trip of Route 66 What an experience. Apart from the canceled flight just as we were about to board the plane by BA ( put on a AA flight the next day which was no problem) everything was fab. Steve Pritchard our tour manager was great from start to finish. Had a lot on his plate sorting the canceled and rebooked flights but he handled it calm and professionally. He and our driver Joe were great all through the journey. Cases always sorted and taken to our room. Steve gave some really good History and Knowledge talks on route of the Mother road and places through it. It was really great of Joe too, playing authentic music of the places we were about to travel through giving the route 66 feeling. So a big thank you to both Steve and Joe. A good crowd of people on the trip. The only downside was Vegas which we were shocked to see since being there 30 years ago. Its got very dirty looking. On Fremont street Girls very distastefully dressed everywhere you look. Not the place for children. I think Vegas is past its best. But enjoyed the whole experience of the tour and places and things we saw. Too many to mention. Now we can say got the Tee shirt (literally) Thanks for a Great trip. M&T Hill

Canada - East to West Tour

We have just returned from an amazing trip to Canada. We packed so much in, I’m ready for another holiday now! We have travelled with Titan before and would definitely use again. I love the door to door service and our tour guide Ann Perry was amazing. Ann has the most amazing knowledge of the country, even down to knowing street names in the major cities. Her enthusiasm and energy is boundless. We had a few issues with coaches breaking down on the first part of our trip, but these were soon rectified and Ann kept us updated throughout and with the help of the driver, we soon had a reliable coach. These things happen and everyone remained in good spirits despite the issues. The only real negative to this trip was that there are no meals included. From our previous trip, we found that meals together help to bond the group. Even just breakfast would have been great. Perhaps something that can be looked in to for the future?

A great time in Guernsey

I had a great time in Guernsey for a week with the trip organized by Titan for Saga. Our rep Sarah was attentive and organized. The hotel was good and the food very nice. The activities were informative and achievable and fun. Guernsey is a lovely island. The group gelled well too. If restaurants and shopping is your thing, you'll most probably enjoy it. Or boat rides, history or island hopping too.

California & golden west Tour

California & golden west Tour. Excellent from start to finish with Tour Manager John Allen very knowledgeable and helpful nothing was to much. Very informative and kept us all well informed with the paperwork each day which was great to have instead of what's app. His calm voice and easy manner made him very approachable. He made the journey funny and his knowledge of places and history was amazing. Not having breakfast included was a bit off a pain because off early starts it all added quite a bit to cost. San Francisco parc55 hotel area was very shady shall we say and made going out in the evening scary. San Diego hotel too far out of city so extra costs for transport. Sad to see Las Vegas so rundown since we last where there very tacky/seedy. John Allen's suggestion of staying in LA airport hotel first night then heading straight too San Diego next day would be much better people could recover from flight better and then on last day when it's such a late flight that day we could return to LA and do the Hollywood/sunset Boulevard/ farmers market for meal before heading to airport much more sensible and better for everyone. Titan should look at that suggestion!!! Great crowd on tour too just a nice number. Made journey pleasant. Also many thanks to John going out of his way to help with our suitcase which was badly damaged by porter at Little America Hotel Flagstaff. Without his help we would have been stuck.

Everything went to plan

Everything went to plan. We were looked after very well by the tour manager Sarah, who was friendly and kept us informed all the time. Guernsey is a surprisingly beautiful island with an amazing history.

Sicily Jewel of the Mediterranean

The tour took us to some beautiful places but there was room for improvement on the first and last day in particular. Our driver picked us up at 8am and we had to pick another couple up so got to Gatwick around 1pm. We went through check in and security before thinking about lunch and due to time we just grabbed a sandwich. We were disappointed that the BA flight was more like EasyJet with only one small cup of water during the flight. When we landed we met our guide who then advised she’d previously sent a What’s App message about no evening meal being available the first night and the restaurant would be closed but we could buy cake however she’d not included our number so we had no message / Not helpful when one of you is Type 1 diabetic so good job we’d taken a stock of biscuits but not really acceptable that there was no meal after such a long travel day! I think Titan should opt for an earlier flight or make this very clear on travel documents. The holiday itself was good with sone very nice hotels with the exception of Hotel Scala Dei Turchi, Agrigento which was a very strange room layout more akin to self catering and the air conditioning being in the kitchen. The Palermo evening meal at a Pizzieria was very rushed and because we were such a large group (42) it was noisy and crowded. The group size was too big - we’ve been used to small groups on more far away tours and really found it too impersonal. Titan provided wine with some meals - I dont drink but witnessed some rather bad behaviour and think wine should be poured into glasses away from the table by waiting staff rather than having a bottle for guests to pour to avoid such behaviour! In addition it was disappointing that there was no complimentary bottle of water in the hotel rooms. The checkin in to return home was very poor and out of Titans control but it took 1.5 hours just to even check in! Overall we were taken to some beautiful locations and Sicily is a lovely place to visit. It was very hot so we embraced the cafe culture when given free time after guided walks. It was a very busy tour and quite a lot of walking which we enjoyed but definitely not for less mobile with some tricky pavements and slopes in the historic areas.
