Kelly McDermott is the perfect host agent showing us round. All the communications beforehand very good too. Thank you Thornley Groves for providing an most efficient service so far.
Lois McGuinness was incredibly informative and helpful as we explored the house. She explained the entire process clearly and helped deepened my understanding of getting a mortgage as a first time buyer. I felt comfortable to ask any questions and was content with her informative answers! Looking forward to continue working with her :)
Very professional and responsive when arranging and managing our rental property. Really quick to sort out repairs too when we first moved in.

Kelly was very friendly and knowledgable. All my questions were answered and she gave ideas about what could be done to improve the property with estimated costs which I found very informative. A pleasure to view in such company.
Upon moving in to their property, it was filthy, when requesting it be cleaned, we were met with an extremely rude property manager, Harry (who no longer works for them). We were two 22y/o girls being spoken to with so little respect from this man, who ridiculed us and our claims that the property was not clean, on the basis that they had paid for a professional cleaner (which they may well have but should look into hiring cleaners that leave the property even slightly clean - there is also a lot of suspicion around their “cleaning company”). Throughout the year we had as little involvement with Thornley Groves as possible until moving out. We were left without a working toilet for over a week, during which Thornely Groves ignored our maintenance emails, we were having to drive to our local supermarket multiple times a day to use their facilities. Despite the state of the property moving in, when moving out we cleaned it head to toe and was then met with a nearly £300 cleaning fee! This fee was backed up by claims that the house was not left as clean as it was when we moved in, we have fought against this claim through the Deposit Claims Dispute system and have had the fee significantly reduced. I am so glad my involvement with Thornley Groves is now over, as a student with the current cost of living, the thought of having to pay nearly £300 was extremely daunting and has caused me a lot of recent stress. They also will reply to our complaints claiming that they are “disappointed” and someone will be in touch with us but no one ever contacts, it is just a facade! Please, whatever you do, do NOT rent from this estate agent!
I had a very positive experience overall with getting some rooms rented out - specifically with Liam Pope of the Prestwich branch. He was very on top of things - kept continuous communications, responded swiftly, assuring and efficient. He also went out of his way - he would response late at night and even weekends to ensure things kept progressing. He was also friendly and patient throughout - maintaining a positive attitude to ensure my worries as a landlord were addressed and gained my trust to know that he will get the job done. One reason I didn't give a 5 star was because I didn't experience the same delight with other Thornley Groves staff. Not that they were bad - they were good but I felt Liam was really a leading example of what they could be. Another reason was that it was hard to reach the offices via telephone sometimes, but perhaps this is not always preventable as there is only so many people that can answer the phone.
The staff at Thornley Groves has always been good at their services. In particular, I'd like to mention Emily Sherratt and Adeeb Ahmed. Their proactive dissipation of service has been spellbinding. I'm impressed, needless to mention. Hope they attain greater heights in their personal careers. Thanks.
