Truly awful
Wish I could give 0 stars. Just awful. Please if you are considering renting/buying from this company just don’t! We are students and haven’t had our complaints/worries taken seriously since we moved in. Staff are rude, unhelpful and flaky. We’ve had a bathroom leak since November which they’re still failing to fix (it’s dirty toilet water because the toilet wasn’t installed correctly), and is now leaking through to the kitchen. There is mould covering the basement, and in the bathroom, and they did not stick to their side of the tenancy agreement (eg installing a burglar alarm which they said they’d do). Staff never get back to us when they say they will call us back, they are truly awful. I’m not sure whether they vary across the country, but avoid Manchester Thornley Groves at any cost!!!

Not only does she continue to work diligently on the case, but she also pulled in a favour to save me a sizeable amount on the fee I'd ben quoted. On Thursday 2nd Feb I viewed a property with Kelly McDermott from the Monton Branch. This was a really positive experience. Kelly was very welcoming and informative about the property. She gave me a brief overview and then left me to view but was available and able to answer any questions I had.

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!
Worst experience when renting. Their treatment feels actually illegal. We vacated a property nearly two months ago and haven’t received our deposit back. What’s worse, we don’t even know the reason for the delay!! There is absolutely no point in trying to phone them as the NEVER pick up the phone. Furthermore, they take days to reply to emails, if that’s your lucky chance and get a reply, as it normally takes several emails to get any sort of response from them.

Had a great experience buying our first home.
Had a great experience buying our first home. Dean was very good and managed to smooth out any problems we had along the way. Even after the purchase had gone through he was very helpful getting the previous owner to come and remove items that should have been done before completion. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Fire Alarm been going off for a week
We've been living in Altrincham renting from Thornley Groves for nearly two years now and never really had a problem until last week when the fire alarms starting going off for no reason and all the emergency windows locked opened. Reported the problem via the website and got informed it would be looked into within 24 hours. Almost 8 days later and we still waiting for someone to turn up to fix the problem despite constantly ringing, emailing and even going into the office. In those 8 days the house has been freezing cold and the last couple of days it's starting raining so the carpets are soaked. Does anyone know a good lawyer who can help us with gross negligence? Truly awful experience and we'll be leaving as soon as we can. Would not recommend.
