We own four flats in Twickenham and Snellers have been our letting agents for several years. We recently asked them to take over the full management of these flats - a huge relief as anyone dealing with residential lettings will know this can be a nightmare. It is reassuring to know that Sophie Sheppard who manages the property for us is at the end of the phone/email - she keeps us in touch with all matters raised by tenants and any issues regarding the building and deals with matters promptly and efficiently.

Recently however my experience has been enhanced with the appointment of Kelly Baldwin who is now my property manager. The management of my flat block was changed to Snellers in May. I was selling at the time and needed some actions from the management company. Snellers sat on the requests and nearly derailed the sale. When we queried why there was no reply to the correspondence, Snellers sloped shoulders onto the previous agents who did a great (unpaid) job. The sale went through in July, since when I have had a number of emails and letters which should be going to the new owner. When I send them back, they say they can’t change this until informed. This is stupid. They are knowingly sending out incorrect items in the knowledge that they will have to do it again. Snellers. I know you don’t do proactivity but please ASK for the change directive rather than sit there doing stuff you know will need to be redone. ADVICE: do not fall into Snellers hands if you are looking for building management

The commercial and property management side of Snellers is truly Incompetent and Negligent. As Snellers has not created a page on Trustpilot for the commercial side of the business, this is the only place to share an honest review after dealing with Sneller for the past three years, as they manage a residential building in New Malden, and it has been an absolute nightmare due to their appalling service. I experienced damp issues in my flat caused by a leaky roof, and I have been relentlessly chasing Sneller about this since January 2022. After sending over 32 emails without any results, I began contacting everyone within the company, only to realize that incompetence runs all the way to the top. The Head of Residential Block & AST Management was fully aware of the severity of the situation as of May 2022. I explained to him several times over the phone and via email that my flat had become a health hazard, with my tenant breathing in mold due to the leaking roof. His lack of action speaks for itself, as the roof was never repaired. My flat became unsellable due to the leaky roof, and every potential buyer backed out once they saw the damp report. I was also forced to reduce the rent because of this issue, resulting in a £3,000 loss of rental income. After 19 months of chasing Sneller, sending well over 66 emails, and still not seeing the roof repaired, I filed a formal complaint for negligence. Unfortunately, this made no difference, as Sneller seems to lack any work ethic. I had no choice but to step in and handle the roof repairs myself, despite this being Sneller’s responsibility, and I spent considerable time coordinating contractors, surveyors, and securing quotes and approvals from the directors. By the time we got the scaffolding up, the roof was in such a state of decay, leaking everywhere, that repairs cost us £25,500. I went through the Property Redress Scheme, which decided in January that I should be awarded compensation if I agreed not to pursue legal action. However, the compensation offered was far too small to cover the losses I incurred due to Sneller’s negligence. My tenant was forced to live with mold for two years because the Head of Residential Block & AST Management and his team simply could not be bothered to do their job correctly. I honestly wouldn’t wish Sneller’s services on anyone. Update following Sneller's response: the profile you mentioned is based in the US and is unclaimed. This is the only page for Snellers UK and I believe it is important for people living here to know how your company really treats its clients.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. Use of gas lighting techniques like ringing 7 times in a row changing the storey each time. Lied about things being renovated before we moved in at the viewing and lied about the landlord using the garage for his own storage. All of this after we signed the tenancy agreement. I have been renting for the last 25 years and this was one of the worst experiences I have had with estate agents.
