Travelled with RSD to Nepal in June

Travelled with RSD to Nepal in June. Very good holiday, saw lots of interesting places, guide was superb and hotels were of a good standard. I would recommend the RSD holiday to Nepal

Cultural trip to Sri Lanka

I have travelled with RSD a few times and have never had a bad experience. An excellent way of seeing a country at an affordable price.

Fantastically beautiful country with lovely people

Went to Sri Lanka with RSD - fantastic countryside, amazing friendly people, good hotels and an amazing journey around the country in all its guises - one of the best trips of my life (I travel 10 mths a year) - why so good - people, no hassles of any kind going out, low cost economy, wonderful weather - an absolute gem of a holiday full of variety with something for everyone.

An Absolutely Fantastic Trip To The Balkans!

We had a wonderful holiday seeing so many UNESCO sites in Kosova, North Macedonia, Montenegro & Albania. Except for the last one, which was a little bit "Soviet era", the hotels were lovely with excellent food, very comfortable indeed. Our Turkish guide Gdoikca went above & beyond to help all passengers on her coach, even rescuing a hearing aid, which had fallen out in Cafe Mozart in Budva, Montenegro & organising for someone to drive it to our hotel at least 2 hours away so we had it before the coach left next morning.

I returned from a Crete tour a few weeks ago and I thoroughly enjoyed it. As has been said before if you want better this or better that please feel free to pay double what RSD charge. For the price I really don't think the holiday could be faulted. The guide was very knowledgeable about the sites visited. This is the second trip with RSD the first was Turkey but I preferred Crete.

We travelled to DUBAI this year and…

We travelled to DUBAI this year and despite the trip being undeniably an opportunity to pressure sell everything from leather, carpets to jewellery , it was still good value and the hotels and organisation excellent. Just say no to all the add on extra trips (you can do them cheaper yourself) REFUSE to go into the factory visits ( we found somewhere to have a coffee instead and just made sure we were back early for the pick up) . It was a good trip and enabled us to see a lot of sights and landmarks at a very reasonable cost for Dubai

WARNING

WARNING: RSD Travel advertise with their GOURMET PACKAGE that you get a "sumptuous buffet every evening" INCORRECT! You get a pre-prepared cold plate, as their flight times arrive too late for a proper meal, for which you have paid for! RIP OFF! Also, customer service and managers are extremely rude and unhelpful. My advice, AVOID RSD TRAVEL.

DO NOT USE RSD

We have just returned from the Cultural Tour of Crete. This is indeed a budget holiday so unless you adjust your expectations to remember this you will be disappointed. Although a ‘budget’ holiday, the costs add up. Firstly the main cost, then the airport charge, and the seasonal supplement. Then the meal package and the optional excursions. It would appear when you look at the itinerary that the tour was so packed with visits that the optional excursions would be scheduled for the rest day. Not so. The tour leader changed the itinerary and although he explained that we would still see everything, in fact we did not visit the old town of Heraklion, the Venetian Fortress, and the Mosque and Church we were promised. Just the Museum.(Which was brilliant). The visit to Knossos was optional but cost 44 Euros when the actual ticket price was 16 Euros or 8 for seniors. People who had not chosen the RSD optional tour had to hang around while we were in there. There were some wise people who had not bought the tour from RSD but who went round Knossos themselves. The optional tour to Spinalonga consisted of a quick boat trip around the island. We did not stop at Elounda as promised. Agios Nicholias was pretty but small and there was only time for a snack or if you are like us, and did not take the meal package, then lunch. We did not choose the meal package as we know Crete from previous visits and like to eat in the tavernas. The tour leader took people to his chosen taverna every day where I am sure he was amply rewarded. That saying, he did explain that he did this to ensure that future tours had tavernas to go to which were still open in the winter. The hotels were average and the breakfasts were buffets but good. The tour leader laid great emphasis on tips, but he chose to do this on the coach to the first hotel when we were all tired from travelling and wanted to sleep, so this was not well accepted! We did not arrive at the hotel until 3:30 am and we were back on the coach for the first day at 8: 30 am so the first day was rather a challenge especially as there were a lot of places to visit. The flight back was at a good time though. The archeological sites were really interesting, as were the monasteries, but the expert guide who came with us to the main sites explained in depth the Classics and myths and legends but not much about the ancient places and their buildings and uses. To make this a ‘budget’ holiday RSD schedule visits to the carpet, jewellery and leather warehouses. They are described as factories, but in fact you do not see anything being made and they are really warehouses. They are also a very hard sell but it is possible to insist that you do not want to buy. We in fact listened to the interesting information prior to the sales pitch and then avoided the salesmen, which was quite easy by asking the way to the exit, which they could not refuse. Apart from the archeological sites and the monasteries, one bright light was the Greek Evening. This was very well organised and everyone had a great evening. In summary. This is NOT a budget holiday and there are elements which you may not be happy with. If so, choose another tour operator.

We have used RSD Travel on 2 previous occasions and will shortly be going on a third, but having read many reviews, feel that many are unjustified. You do visit 3 factories and they are very hard sell but YOU CAN SAY NO. They are mentioned in the paperwork but only in passing, so I agree that it is not clear enough. The coach stops for lunch on the tours and we have found, that for us anyway, an extra meal package is not required. Again, you can say NO. Where else can you get a holiday for this sort of money. You get what you pay for in this life. Some people expect too much for what they are willing to pay.

Went to book a potential trip with…

Went to book a potential trip with them, told a price over the phone in the evening to find the price had doubled the following morning when a invoice arrived in my inbox. Phoned to complain to be told I must have been told about the additional costs on the original phone call, which I hadn’t. So annoyed by now I told them I wouldn’t be continuing with the booking and would like to cancel. I was put on hold but not put on hold to hear the phone operator having a conversation with one of her colleges and saying “I would love a coffee got a right stroppy one here” at that point I was cut off. Disappointed with the customer service the rude staff, the hidden charges. I would avoid at all cost. And still waiting for cancellation email

Returned from Cyprus trip in May

Returned from Cyprus trip in May. Really enjoyed the cultural part but the hard sell at carpet, jewellery and leather outlets was overwhelming. At these places your bank details are demanded despite not buying. Since returning home my bank accounts have been targeted. The hotels we stayed at were not up to standard (the first hotel had a mosque across the road so no sleep, the second a building sit across the road) and it is a wonder no one got food poisoning as the hot food was most certainly not. Inially rsd took no notice of my complaints until I contacted ABTA and suddenly they want copies of my bank account (which I refused, and was told they could not consider my complaints until received), Will never use this company again. I have travelled all over the world and for the first time was so glad to be home.

Rsd travel has been the best so far for me & I have thoroughly enjoyed travelling with them. Lots of people complain about Rsd travel & all I can say then they should then pay more & travel the way it suits them. I don’t have any regrets , all my friends & family members have enjoyed travelling with them. I wish I can hear more from them with promotion deals. Thanks . M.K. Jugdey

Poor Customer Service

Poor Customer Service Contacted them by phone to be told to send email to a separate group for booking a group of more than 6. Sent that email and 5 days later no response whatsoever. Sent email via website and they said no record and could I forward email. I did that got automated email and still no response. Never had this problem with them before as we have booked with them before and have been very happy. Customer Service is now REALLY BAD and they can't be bothered to respond.
