Review summary
Rightmove has mixed reviews from customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about communication and customer service.
Find the agents in your area and email them direct- much easier than Rightmove
Right move is set up to sell financial services (like mortgage products) and promote estate agencies that pay for additional promotion.
Registration is painful, taking 5 mins to wade through their security protocols
I would give minus stars if possible.
Our letting agent uses Rightmove referencing: So the Rightmove rep, Craig called my wife and within 30 seconds insisted on access to her bank account (?!). Then, when she declined and offered the usual payslips and statements, the rep said, "You want this property, get over it and swallow the pill".
I have never heard such unprofessional nonsense in my entire life. I am absolutely insensed and who in their right mind would give bank account access to a complete stranger in Ireland???
Who the hell do these people think they are? Does anyone trust 'Rightmove' with their personal financial data, you'd have to be insane.
Rightmove are scared of a virtual boogiemen, use this as an excuse to block actual people looking for a place to live
In the past couple of weeks, rightmove have implemented some sort of filter that is blocking me (and surely others) from seeing property listings.
I use a VPN for security, which I guess is the problem for them (even though they KNOW what email address the link I clicked came from and can easily determine I'm not a threat), but a company like rightmove essentially DEMANDING I forgo my privacy and security (as well as blocking anyone who MIGHT be outside the UK, as if people don't move from abroad, or want to continue looking while away) to see their ADVERTISMENTS is absolutely unacceptable (not to mention - they seem to block by DEVICE, not by IP, so even if I do give in to their unacceptable demands and switch the VPN off, I'm still blocked), and them blocking me, then briefly unblocking me when I complain, then automatically blocking me again the next day has now become ENRAGING.
The housing market is a fast paced one, and this means I WILL be losing out on properties because of their pathetic attempt to stop the imaginary baddie they think is out to harm their site (like I say, pathetic).
This method is entirely UNACCEPTABLE and if whoever are making these decisions had two brain cells between them, they would realise they're MASSIVELY screwing over the people who (very sadly) depend on them, but what do they care, they have cornered the market and have a captive audience, so clearly even if they figured this problem out, they simply DON'T CARE how badly they're messing with people's literal lives.
I've already been homeless before because I've been unable to find a suitable place in time partly thanks to rightmove enabling discrimination by allowing owners to advertise 'no DSS', which is bad enough, but if I end homeless again because some greedy and paranoid ADVERTISING company BLOCKED me from viewing listings, that'll be a whole other level of BS.
If they don't remove this absurd measure ASAP and start implementing a PASSABLE barrier (like 'I'm not a bot' everyone else uses without issue) if they really MUST have a barrier at all (again, them imagining a need for it is entirely pathetic and is nothing more than a self aggrandising fantasy) I WILL be reporting this crap to the FOS, TPO, ASA and CAP, and whichever other standards authority they fall under.
YOU CAN'T JUST BLOCK YOUR TRAPPED AUDIENCE FROM LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO LIVE AND THINK YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH IT
You filter out park homes, flats, lands, etc.
first 10 pages of results... sheds, land, park homes, etc.
Sort your filters out. delete listings where agencies list flats/beachhuts/park homes etc as freehold houses to get around the filters.
I just wanted to say that I have had to give credit to Rightmove and their employees Chris and Natalie!
I just wanted to say that I have had to deal with Chris and Natalie of Rightmove. They are helping me out with my credit check and references as I am applying to rent an apartment in London. They have both been outstanding and extremely personable and understanding. Compared to some other company's that do this sort of thing, Rightmove is a standout thanks to Chris and Natalie. I'm impressed!
I have had a great experience so far with Right Move. Shout outs to Megan Brooke, a tenant services sales executive. All easy going and at a good pace. Keys on Monday.
Donna McNeill provided thorough and excellent customer service. All queries were answered and advice on TV/Internet package was provided.
Thanks again for explaining everything clear and concisely. Saved me a lot of time and money!
