Our letting agent uses Rightmove referencing: So the Rightmove rep, Craig called my wife and within 30 seconds insisted on access to her bank account (?!). Then, when she declined and offered the usual payslips and statements, the rep said, "You want this property, get over it and swallow the pill".
I have never heard such unprofessional nonsense in my entire life. I am absolutely insensed and who in their right mind would give bank account access to a complete stranger in Ireland???
Who the hell do these people think they are? Does anyone trust 'Rightmove' with their personal financial data, you'd have to be insane.
I spoke with Michael regarding some confusion I had with the application process.
I found him to be incredibly kind and professional while dealing with the matter, which I really appreciated. He took time to explain anything I was confused about and reassured me that it was no trouble at all. It was refreshing to speak to someone who treated me with respect and if I have any further problems I will be specifically requesting his assistance in the future. Cheers.
Spoke with Rhea regarding rental insurance on a property I am due to move into.
She arranged a call back for when I was available. Explained in full all info regarding policies as I have never taken out one before.
She was super friendly and knowledgeable, and was even considerate of how long she was keeping me on the phone. She even wished me well with my move!

Lovely phone staff, but poor email communications and not always efficient.
While I admit the Rightmove staff I spoke to are absolutely lovely and polite people, I have found myself very frustrated by the lack of efficiency regarding the process of sorting out references so I was able to rent a property with my partner. They requested a ridiculous amount of documents from myself and my guarantor, which we provided promptly, only for them to then decide that the documents they requested weren't adequate and so requested even more. This happened multiple times and was left largely to the last minute before our holding deposit was to expire. Documents from external parties that were holding up the process weren't chased up by them and we only found out they still hadn't received them last minute, leaving us to chase them up ourselves. Overall, communication via email was not always clear and we weren't kept up-to-date on the progress of the process at all, unless we called them ourselves.
To summarise, the experience with Rightmove was not the smoothest or most efficient, but if anyone is finding themselves in a similar situation I would highly recommend contacting Rightmove via phone call as their team are fabulous at dealing with issues from there. If you're happy to be proactive and chase up issues yourself by phone you'll be fine, otherwise their communication isn't great.
No longer using rightmove, since they started to allow Estate agents to list Holiday Homes as "Lodges" bypassing the filters available which means you want to find a 2 bed house or Bungalow, you end up with a whole heap of Caravans. Note to Rightmove if reading this Enforce your own listing practices.. or how about making it even easier for you and allow your users to report miss-categorised listings.
I put in an offer for a flat to rent. I sent rightmove all the references they asked for and they were never enough, they kept on asking for more and more statements.
They kept me waiting until 5 days before my move to give me approval.
I felt I was treated like a criminal and found staff rude, except a lady called Lorna.
I shall never rent through rightmove again.
My friends used rightmove before and recommend it.
But now it became right worst.
I passed reference one and with the same information in less than a month a lady stated my application.
Under estimating her colleague job.
But the worst part she demande so much, I have 4 jobs for the last 4 years.
And ended up that I did not fail. Because my information is genuine but I lost the property the landlord was tired of waiting.
I am sure that eventually their will loose business.
However this lady is she is not very professional.

We were passed through to Rightmove for a referencing check for a house, the whole process was EXTREMELY simple, quick & easy, no issues at all. Solid 10/10 service.
A few days later we received a call from Eve regarding Home Insurance, Eve set us up with a very competitive and perfect for us Home Insurance policy for what seems like pence! Very cheap and very happy with the service.
Eve has fantastic customer service skills, is prompt and attentive with all matters and questions, she’s doing an incredible job!
Give that lady a pay rise, it was an absolute pleasure to speak with her, thank again Eve!

The referencing experience with Rightmove was, on the whole, very good and Nikita was very efficient at processing the reference check once she had all the information. There was a bit of a breakdown in communication which added some anxiety towards the end of the process.
