Lovely phone staff, but poor email communications and not always efficient.
While I admit the Rightmove staff I spoke to are absolutely lovely and polite people, I have found myself very frustrated by the lack of efficiency regarding the process of sorting out references so I was able to rent a property with my partner. They requested a ridiculous amount of documents from myself and my guarantor, which we provided promptly, only for them to then decide that the documents they requested weren't adequate and so requested even more. This happened multiple times and was left largely to the last minute before our holding deposit was to expire. Documents from external parties that were holding up the process weren't chased up by them and we only found out they still hadn't received them last minute, leaving us to chase them up ourselves. Overall, communication via email was not always clear and we weren't kept up-to-date on the progress of the process at all, unless we called them ourselves. To summarise, the experience with Rightmove was not the smoothest or most efficient, but if anyone is finding themselves in a similar situation I would highly recommend contacting Rightmove via phone call as their team are fabulous at dealing with issues from there. If you're happy to be proactive and chase up issues yourself by phone you'll be fine, otherwise their communication isn't great.
