Firstly, Princess Cruises turned out to be quite unreliable. We had six shore excursions planned, but the most important one — viewing the glaciers and icebergs — was canceled without adequate explanation. Another excursion, originally meant to take us to the city of Victoria, was substituted with a visit to a much smaller, unremarkable location, the name of which we don’t even remember. For these cancellations and itinerary changes, we were given just $200 USD per person as compensation — and even that had to be spent onboard. This felt insufficient and disappointing. Secondly, getting access to drinking water onboard was surprisingly inconvenient. Guest cabins were located between decks 6 and 14 (we stayed on deck 8), but the only place with self-serve drinking water was on deck 15. Each time we needed water, we had to carry our own thermos all the way up, and elevator wait times could be long. Alternatively, bottled water (800ml) was available at the bar for over $3 USD each, but the bar staff were not always honest. On three occasions when two bottles were purchased, the family was twice charged for three. Refunds were only issued after complaints were made at the front desk.

Very disappointing.

Very disappointing. This is the 8th cruise we’ve been on (including others from the same group - Royal Caribbean & Celebrity). The ship (Sun Princess) is nice, but unless you are a meat eating American who likes X-factor style singers it isn’t for you. The breakfast consists of around 20 stations, 17 of which seem to serve variations of exactly the same thing (bacon, sausage, beans, egg - and pretty much in the same format - e.g. there are no poached eggs or eggs Florentine.). The buffet for dinner and tea is also poor. Same every day, and not great quality. It's also very bland. There are a couple of token Indian dishes, and even those are bland too. The entertainment is naff singers for the main part. We had 2 dreadful comedians. The only bright spot was the magician (Mike Bones) who was great. You have to pay for shuttles, the sunbeds get nabbed and left reserved all day without Princess doing anything about it, and even the kids sports area has basketballs but no football! It’s like non-Americans and non-meat eaters are second class citizens. Even the sandwich bar often only has a choice of meat sandwiches half of the time. On top of that they force you to carry a tracker, and they state on their app that they are capturing your facial recognition data (no idea why, but it surely is unnecessary and seems a breach of privacy). I asked for a normal card rather than the tracker pendant (which is magnetic and emits EMF) but they said I couldn’t have a card. I was looking forward to better entertainment and much better food, but left disappointed. This is the worse cruise we’ve been on for food, sport, entertainment and privacy. I’m posting the review here, rather than at the end of the cruise, as if my experience with Celebrity is anything to go by, they tend not to bother listening to genuine feedback.

Realice 3 cruceros con Princess, el primero en 2023, a Islas Britanicas en el Regal, 15 dias. el segundo en 2024, trasatlantico en el Sun Princess 17 dias, el ultimo en junio 2025, fiordos, en el Emerald, 17 dias. En el ultimo note una baja muy importante en calidad de espectaculos y comida. Estos 2 itens para los cruceristas son importantes. Los espectaculos con excepcion de una cantante, creo que se llamaba Lynda Evans, mediocres. Un hipnotizador que se veia claramente el engaño y encima lo repitieron. Un coro y musical de los propios tripulantes, imaginense. Y otros por el estilo. La comida. Mucha comida de olla y aspecto regular para abajo, los primeros dias habia salmon, despues lo remplazaron por otros pescados de regular preparacion. Carne poco. Fruta siempre verde. Postres repetitivos. Un dia nos ofrecian croisants del dia anterior. Y varios dias faltaron. Entre los puertos, habia 3, de pequeños pueblitos con muy poco interes. Hubiera sido ideal, sacar por lo menos 2 e incluir 2 dias en Oslo. He viajado en MSC, Norwegian, Celebrity y pense que en Princess habia encontrado mi naviera Premium. No es mas una compañia premium.

We booked the Princess Premier Package…

We booked the Princess Premier Package and for 2 days now they've blocked my stepsons medallion insisting he can only buy non alcoholic drinks. He's 28 years old!! The ship is tired and a lot smaller cabins than other cruiselines we've used. Spent more time at guest services than enjoying the actual cruise

Such a dishonest company

They sold us an Alaska cruise knowing the ship is broken and we will be sailing most of the time instead of visiting Alaska and doing excursions

Do not purchase gifts for guests

I purchased several gifts for my parents who were heading out on a cruise. They were not delivered, and trying to get a simple update turned into a total hassle. The customer service is pretty terrible. I would avoid ever pre-purchasing any add-ons, as the company seems completely disorganized. 0 stars would be a better rating.

Disastrous from day 1

Disastrous from day 1. Huge queue to embark the ship - drawn out signing-in process. Food appalling. Extortionate pricing policy - $50 for a bottle of Pinot Grigio which could be bought at any supermarket for £7. No courtesy buses for those who wanted to make their own way (Florence & Rome particularly). Take a lesson from P&O - they know how to do it. Never again. Staff, both Waiting, Reception and Room services - Good. A dis-enchanted, Dis-Enchanted Princess traveller.

I won't book another Princess cruise

Just back from a cruise around the UK. The staff that interact with the passengers are lovely and helpful, it's a shame that the management can't be the same. The food was awful. The choices were very limited and the food in the buffet was not hot enough to satisfy UK hygiene standards. I thought at first that the choice was down to the fact that Princess were trying to satisfy US tastes but then the Americans were complaining about the food too. When visiting ports Princess frequently used water-shuttles to get people ashore. The capacity of these boats isn't enough to make a ride ashore comfortable and needs to be organised to make it work. On two occasions I was on shuttles that broke down. Once we were dragged along the side of the ship in an attempt to tie-up and disembark us. This gave us a very close up view of the rust and flaking paint on the side of the ship that the Captain constantly described as "the beautiful Emerald Princess". The water-shuttles also gave rise to long queues to disembark and to return to the ship. We waited over an hour in a queue to return to the ship in two ports. This is pure mismanagement. Either poor maintenance or poor organisation, or both. And to cap it all there was a covid outbreak on the ship amongst the passengers and crew. The crew were aware of it for 2 days prior to an announcement that passengers were required to wear masks (the crew wore face masks all of the time, even before the outbreak). The decor on the ship was dated, the ship needs a refit! In several areas carpets were being replaced due to the smell (stale water) and were immediately getting wet.

Food abysmal

Food abysmal . Cold breakfast everyday. Cold plates. The evening meals not much better. I am a share holder in Carnival and have supported them through the pandemic. This is not what I expect from a company I have cruised with over the decades. Im on the Enchanted princess a very new ship. The staff are as usual fabulous. The suits need to take a look at themselves at the way they are looking after there loyal customers. I will update this review when I get of the ship.

We booked our dream cruise after…

We booked our dream cruise after hearing cruise are back. As we progressed towards our trip everything changed. Testing and masks. None of this was disclosed at booking and payment. After finding out we would have to wear surgical masks for the first two days and it was at the discretion of the cruise to expand this we cancelled. We were left on hold for an hour and we’re never told what our refund would be. Just file a claim and agent hung up. We are incredibly sad and frustrated. Seems like cruises are not really back and Princess uses deceptive advertising.

Use the web version not the app.

If you are having trouble with the App to put in your personnel details for a cruise do what I did and use the web version, there is a link under the App logos on their website, I had no trouble at all, even adding the photos was easy.

Have cruised a number of times but this was the worlds worth check in system called medallion ! It does not work !!! and frustrates beyond belief - correct information is refused - over complicated incorrect and for many of us so difficult and hard to handle apart from other issues with Princess I wish I had never booked the cruise for 3 - I was not told when booking that I had to go through hours of nightmare for a suppose to be a relaxing time !! Shame on the people resonsible for this technical system - do not book Princess anymore !!!!

We have been trying every night for the Last week to contact Princess cruises to try to extend the expiry date for our cruise credit over a hour each Time no one will answer the phone so frustrating we have also sent numerous emails but still no response absolutely waste of time will not book with this company again
