Pros: I ended up with a house
Cons: I would receive no communication for days or weeks at a time, I had to chase them several times to get a document updated because they had my National Insurance Number wrong, which they STILL haven't updated a month AFTER my completion. As a first time buyer, I was getting a lot of documents thrown at me, and was given not as much guidance as I would have liked. The final cost of the Solicitors was almost DOUBLE what I was quoted, and I quite understand that they cant make a quote that includes every possible fee, and there will be other fees but that seems excessive to me, especially since it didn't include items like the LISA Fee, which I had told them that I would be using a LISA. Also, they added an extra fee for going with a "Special Lender" which I was never told about before the invoice came in. I went with PLS due to the recommendation of Persimmon, I have no other experience of Solicitors, but I think this should not be who they are recommending. Also, the portal would not work on the app for me, I had to open it on browser, just a note.

This company made me physically sick with stress.
This company is the worst company I have ever had to deal with. They made me physically sick with stress due to their lack of incompetence. They basically have a bunch of trainees working there, and seems they have a high staff turnover. Staff playing games and screaming and shouting in the background of calls like children. They lost paperwork with personal details on it. They might not answer the phone at all, or say they will get your solicitor to get back to you but not bother, they might give you the wrong information, and they might not submit vital paperwork needed to evidence you own your property causing HUGE complications. Do your metal health a favour, and STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

After what felt like an eternity trying to find a mortgage offer with my mortgage broker - when I did find one, I was worried how long the solicitors would take and if this was going to be prolonged -Jameel Shahrukh helped me and got me through so fast I was shocked! thanks for all your help and keeping in touch and letting me know every step.

Horrible unprofessional company
Horrible unprofessional company. They held up our whole process we were the beginning of the chain. The rest of the chain had all there documents sorted months before pls could do ours. I had to call every day to deal with different people each time, get left on hold for 10 minutes plus and even hung up on. Their service is completely unacceptable! I have now been living at my property nearly 4 years and still am not on the land registry every time I call or email it’s the same excuse. There’s a back log. We’ve had multiple neighbours move in on our street years after us and they’re registered. If you don’t want to spend your days trying to contact these people and make them do their job then do yourself a favour and go somewhere else.

Understanding and helpful …
I dealt with Lucy and Ellie and they guided me through the UK conveyancing process with which I was totally out of touch and unfamiliar, having lived abroad for decades. Once they realised I hadn't a clue (!) they were patient, understanding and helpful throughout, even when I didn't understand exactly what was being asked of me. They also managed to advance the usual completion date by a few days at my request. I would not hesitate to recommend the Ellie Hamer team at PLS.
