Recommended by Persimmon Homes when we were part-exchanging our old property and buying a new build. We only had 6 weeks between starting the process and completing. Team were fantastic and kept us up to date at all times making sure we knew what was going on. Anything we needed help with they were on hand to help with straight away and liaise with the other solicitors. Everything completed on time just before Christmas, with PLS helping to take away any unnecessary stress from us at an already stressful time.

What I can say absolutely negative experience ,we were selling and purchased the house and took 6 months to complete .I would say this firm is very much tick box if everything is ok no problem but if the case is a bit complicated the don't have a clue what to do. Super stressful and painful time for my family constantly ringing them for updates and pushing... Never again So pleased don't go ahead with them!

Genuinely don't know where to start with this firm. They came recommended from the new build developer and, lacking a better option, we decided to go with them. This ended up being a huge mistake on our behalf. From start to finish, I can't think of a single thing that they did well. If I had to pick my biggest complaint, it would probably be the lack of communication. I would say the only time they were forthcoming with communication is when they were letting us know of the additional fees they were adding on. It seemed that they were a strange mix of not doing things unless chased up, but then would try to make you feel guilty for chasing them. There was a boundary dispute with the property I was part exchanging, which PLS were absolutely no help in resolving. They made me answer the same questions at least 5 times, asked for photos of the same things again and again and offered me no solutions to get it sorted. Eventually, after close to 2 months of zero progress, I liaised with the buyer directly and resolved the matter without the help of PLS. Imagine my surprise when this was finally sorted, the buyer’s solicitors ready to exchange, that PLS decide that they had some additional enquiries they wanted to raise on my purchase. (They’d had approximately 6 weeks to do this, but waited until the other party were ready to exchange to raise them). This caused the developer to call me and threaten to pull out of the deal due to frustration and lack of progress. When the final completion statement was generated, it was incorrect as the discount for using them for both a sale and purchase hadn’t been applied. When I pointed this out, they took zero responsibility and just said ‘I’m not quite sure why it wasn’t applied’. So, I would encourage anyone using them to check the completion statement thoroughly. Then finally, just to round out the horror show, the part exchange process requires £500 to be retained as a clean & tidy fee, to be released after 21 days provided the property was left in a reasonable state. Of course, the 21 days came and went without any sign of the funds being released. I emailed on the 22nd day, then after chasing again a week later they told me it had been refunded. After doing some digging, I realised they’d sent it to a savings account on the 25th day, not my current account which I had requested. Reading the reviews on TrustPilot makes me think it’s very much a gamble on who you get assigned to your case as to how smoothly it will go. I've seen other reviews be deleted if names are mentioned so I'll just say that we must have just drawn a short straw. Either way, you couldn’t pay me to use this firm again and I would actively discourage others from engaging with them.

He was there when we had questions and answered them all and helped us on our behalf. He put us at ease and guided us through the paperwork. PLS provided a terrible service when managing the sale of my house and my onwards purchase. My conveyancer had to be hand held and chased constantly, key documents were misplaced or incorrect (resulting in a last-minute rush on exchange day), completion took hours because everyone was “at lunch” in the afternoon. I discovered weeks after completion that an indemnity policy required from our vendors wasn’t in place, they completed without it and never admitted to it. I raised a complaint which made no difference as they’ll never admit they’ve done something wrong. Save your money and sanity and go elsewhere.
