Review summary
Marsh & Parsons Estate Agents receives consistently positive reviews. Customers particularly appreciate professional and service, though some mention concerns about communication and customer service.
Marsh and Parsons, Tooting - a really good experience!
I recently used the Tooting Bec branch of Marsh and Parson to sell my property and cannot speak highly enough of their Director, Angelo Mulholland. Angelo and Thomas Syms were reliable and honest in their dealings with me, they are both highly experienced agents who know the wider housing market and the local market well and understand the impact of the change in one on the other.
Connor Marney, managed the on-the-ground marketing and sale of my property, an absolute star! Calm and reliable, unfailingly polite and hard working I felt really fortunate having Connor as part of my sales team. A big thank you to M&P, I have no hesitation in recommending you!
I worked with Marsh and Parsons to do a short-term lease. My agent rushed me to send over full funds (deposit and entirety of rent) immediately to secure the flat, warning me that I might not get the place otherwise, so I did. He wrote to confirm that I got the place. A month later, he said that I actually did not get the place as apparently the landlord was no longer renting it out, despite the contract and confirmation. He “generously” — that’s sarcasm — offered to refund the money. When he sent it back, it was short $1k. He refused to do anything else about it. Not only did he fail to fulfill contract obligations and screw me over that way, he also caused me financial loss for the privilege.
Renting a property with Marsh & Parsons has been my worst experience I had with a lettings office.
We were renting a 3 bedroom furnished flat in Fulham. Upon arrival, 1 of the 3 beds in the property was dismantled and thus, unusable. We made numerous complaints to the property manager for fixing it and even after two weeks in our tenancy they still hadn't provided a solution. I finally assembled it myself using my own tools and buying any missing pieces, screws etc, since I literally had no place to sleep.
Additionally the house was painted one day before our arrival and all the windows and doors were shut in the house. As a result, there was a strong smell of paint for more than a week in our tenancy. From that point on whatever interaction we had with the agent would take at least a couple of weeks to complete. At the end of the tenancy the property manager and landlord claimed 2200 pounds of our deposit for redecoration costs and damages! Thanks to TDS however, and not thanks to M&P, we got 90% of that money back.
It's not clear to me how much of this falls on the landlord but certainly the communication from the property manager should have been better, especially as to what amount is fair \/ makes sense to claim.
What I do know for certain is that I will not be renting again with Marsh & Parsons.
I used Marsh & Parsons as a landlord and won't make the same mistake again…
I used Marsh & Parsons as a landlord and am very disappointed with the experience. They take a lot of money for what they do but don't deliver much value. They assured me that the tenants they found me were all working professionals, but it turned out one was still a student on work experience, and the other was on a short-term gig and promptly got let go. Communication with head office is curt and dismissive, and they have no interest in building a relationship apart from when there is an opportunity for them to make more money on you. I won't be using them again and would not recommend them.
I AM VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH MARSH AND PARSONS AGENT, THEY DONT ANWSER CALLS, OR EMAILS, OR TEXTS SINCE MOVE IN DATE. AS SOON AS YOU PAY YOUR RENT, WHICH I PAYED UPFRONT FOR 1 YEAR, THEY DON'T HELP AFTER ALL. THE METER IS BROKEN, I RECIVE NO BILLS BECUZ OF THEIR EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE, NOW I HAVE NO HOT WATER OR HEATING IN AN £3600 A MONTH APARTMENT.????????????????????
The head office is not responsive and they just don't care, the service is average and the head office does not respond to customers' complaints.
The young agents are let down and not supported by the head office.
I could write a full-page, however, I will not waste any more valuable time, other than say stay away from the agency. HEAD OFFICE DO NOT RESPOND. STAY AWAY FROM THE AGENCY.
Bad communicators, bad service, lack of professionalism!
Worst “service” ever, stay away from Earl’s Court office. I try for several months to buy a property in Child’s Place, the seller accepted the offer put presión on me to make it as soon as possible, I spent £3,000 dealing with legal affairs, and It turns out that the client didn’t have the legal papers in place to sale the property, and the agency keep on saying they want to sale if you are willing to pay for their solicitors fees to fix the problem, I said yes I will pay for an extension of the deed, them the seller has to ask the other residents for approval to modify the access to the property (how do you put a property in the market that has not granted access from the street?) then the agency and the tenant didn’t communicate for several days, I called and said If you client doesn't want to sale, tell me now. Oh no he want to sale, but maybe you will agree for him to have some tenants in the mean time. I said as long as we review the tenants agreement is ok.
they came back saying, my client will only sale if you pay the expenses legal and financial for all the other residents involved in the transaction! I said i have agreed to paid for document to fix the deed, I won’t pay for anything else. Another week passed by, my solicitor was chasing them.
Then they said for his client to see my commitment they want to exchange with condition that the deed will be amended, if & only if, I agree to pay all the financial and legal expenses of all the residents involved, I said no, I have agreed to pay one contract and I have already done it.
Another 2 weeks silence when I finally reach out directly and asked what happened the Manager Leo Floores, dare to say, “we all have lost interest in the operation” you didn’t show your commitment exchanging contracts and other apartments have been sold and nobody has asked for the legal access to the property as you did !!!!!!!
They blame my solicitor, the law requirements and me for not showing commitment after months of waiting and loosing money and opportunities. I wouldn’t be surprised that they blame the weather as well. I had bought and sold around 20 properties, by now I have worked with pretty much all the major agencies in London and the experience with this agency is the worst of the worst.
I have absolutely had it up to my neck with Marsh and Parsons, not once but twice. As a tenant, I have the legal right as written in UK law to 24 hours notice and confirmation from me they are allowed to enter my property, as well as this being a condition signed in my lease. The amount of times agents trying to let the flat have just showed up to my flat and opened the door without even knocking WITH ME INSIDE is astounding and disgusting behavior. This happened last year at my old flat with marsh and parsons, now it’s happening again at my new flat and a different M&P branch. Not to mention the absolute hounding an hour before they decide they want to view the flat, the phone calls of “i know it’s last minute but PLEASE we will ONLY be a minute” from multiple agents every single day. I have called and emailed countless times, I’ve put a note on my door, and now I’ve started locking my door from the inside because they enter my home illegally. I have threatened to call the police due to the absolute vulture-like behavior from their sales agents once your flat is on the market. I didn’t receive an email or a call back.
Not even to mention I moved into this house on one VERY SPECIFIC, VERY important condition regarding my health, they swore up and down that this flat was perfect. I signed the lease, and the very day I moved in, I found out it is not accommodated at all which is the only reason I chose this house over other houses and I cannot live comfortably at this house for this very specific reason I was promised was accommodated. When I sent a detailed email regarding this, I never heard back.
Horrible company, I would never recommend them.
Just about the worst building managers (Fulham Branch). They are managing a house we rent and they are a nightmare. inefficient, lazy , constantly on annual leave. We've been waiting (months!) for some important fixes to the house but M & P just can't get their act together. It has opened our eyes and we will never use them , not to manage any rental properties we have nor as agents when we want to buy anything. Utterly Useless.
This estate agent is the WORST!! Stay away from them!!!!
The quality of tenants they sourced were terrible. They do not care and do any personal inspections. Property management is basically sending emails from an office. They do not care about your property at all. Terrible.
This company is exactly why people dislike estate agents. Difficult, time consuming, incompetent, stay away.
No idea of customer service. Sadly as they will often be the only agent advertising a property they can behave however they want. When will someone finally create a business where estate agents are no longer necessary.
