Marsh and Parsons, Tooting - a really good experience!

I recently used the Tooting Bec branch of Marsh and Parson to sell my property and cannot speak highly enough of their Director, Angelo Mulholland. Angelo and Thomas Syms were reliable and honest in their dealings with me, they are both highly experienced agents who know the wider housing market and the local market well and understand the impact of the change in one on the other. Connor Marney, managed the on-the-ground marketing and sale of my property, an absolute star! Calm and reliable, unfailingly polite and hard working I felt really fortunate having Connor as part of my sales team. A big thank you to M&P, I have no hesitation in recommending you!

I worked with Marsh and Parsons to do a…

I worked with Marsh and Parsons to do a short-term lease. My agent rushed me to send over full funds (deposit and entirety of rent) immediately to secure the flat, warning me that I might not get the place otherwise, so I did. He wrote to confirm that I got the place. A month later, he said that I actually did not get the place as apparently the landlord was no longer renting it out, despite the contract and confirmation. He “generously” — that’s sarcasm — offered to refund the money. When he sent it back, it was short $1k. He refused to do anything else about it. Not only did he fail to fulfill contract obligations and screw me over that way, he also caused me financial loss for the privilege.

A great property manager, hopefully for you too

This review is more so for our property manager, Elisabeth Ppasa, than for Marsh&Parsons, who like any other real state agency, probably has it's equal share of flaws and good practices. If you do get Elisabeth as your property manager, she is extremely reliable and responsive. If you do run into issues or have questions about your property, she will be extremely dilligent in addressing and solving them in what her ability and scope is concerned. We feel very reassured having her as our first point of contact.

Word to the wise regarding M&P

I have had multiple challenges working with this letting agent and and would not recommend them as a tenant. They look out for their landlord clients and make a pretty penny doing it. Even my landlord said their fees are high. The staff changes frequently and there was a lot of pressure for me to bid high and do a long tenancy to get a flat I ended up having to leave early as they neglected to put in a break clause which was very expensive for me and very lucrative for them. Max Davis and Roy Khan were very helpful though, but make sure you read the fine print before you sign anything as it may come back to bite you!

Really great

Marsh & Parsons in Clapham were extremely professional, helpful and friendly throughout a tricky process. Add to that knowledgeable, organised and proactive. You get the sense it’s full of people who care about their job, where they work, and the people they’re dealing with. Really impressed.

Traumatised Experience: Be Cautious

Whenever I walk past Marsh and Parsons on the street, I shudder inside. I moved into a rental property on October 1, 2023, and throughout the process, they lost my documentation twice and sent me two incorrect contracts to sign. As a result, I didn’t get the correct contract until one month before my move out date (July 2024). When I asked for a housing reference, they said they would only quote the one month. They refused to inspect the property before I moved in, and when I pushed back on the misquoted rental duration, they replied, "Really, we shouldn't be providing a reference at all given you sublet the property for 8 months without consent," despite having back-and-forth emails with them about the move-in since September 1, 2023, and paying rent on time every month. Even now, they are still harassing my ex-housemates and me, requesting we pay a cleaning fee that they initially said the landlord had agreed to cover (and we have email evidence of this). Honestly, my experience with this company has been traumatizing. No matter how glamorous or gorgeous a property may be, I would never deal with Marsh and Parsons again.
