I have been a JR customer for over 30 years and have spent thousands with them. About 18 months ago my acct got hacked and my credit card was compromised. The only erroneous charge was at JR. So I canceled my credit card and informed JR. They in turn canceled my account and will not reinstate without a NEW email address What a moronic thing to do. Apparently I am to go through the hassle setting up a new email in my various computer just for the privilege of being their customer. I wish Lou still owned the company. So good by to JR and hello to CI. Hopefully they don’t have the Sam tecnoweney running their customer avoidance system
Bought a box don Diego had a moisture pack in it could not smoke them they were too soft would not smoke. Please remove the pack.
I rarely post negative reviews but I am out of patience. On 4/1 I ordered a box of cigars. On 4/6 they were out for delivery per UPS. Then around two that afternoon, which is about the time our normal driver gets here, the status changed stating a problem with the address. I called JR. The agent was very kind and called UPS and told me there was an issue with the format of the address that she corrected and they would still show up that day. Well they did not show up. So the next day the UPS tracking information said check back tomorrow for updated delivery information. That was 4/7 and this is 4/14, that status has not changed. I have been on the phone with JR each day and up until today everyone was nice even if ineffective. Today the rep was not only ineffective but rude. She could not have cared less that her employer was holding 190 dollars of my money hostage for two weeks while I had no product. Look, I get there is an issue with UPS on this one. But it has been two weeks and I do not have an agreement with UPS, I have an agreement with JR Cigars. I should not still be waiting for my money back. An absolute imbecile can see the package has been lost or more likely stolen. I even went out to the UPS depot where this package would be. The manager looked for 37 minutes and found nothing. All we know for sure is that it was out for delivery and then suddenly it wasn't. That seems simple enough to me. This is a problem between JR and UPS that has now become my problem. I have the bank involved now too. Obviously I will never purchase anything else from JR Cigars or Cigars.com or any other business that shares their address. This has been a very bad experience because I have had shipping issues with other companies and they took so much better care of me than JR has. And moving forward those companies will see all of my business. Take this as a warning to not do business with these people. They are fine with the taking your money part but as soon as there is a problem all you will get is the runaround. I never asked for anything special. All I wanted was someone to exercise some common sense and return my money. One way or the other I will get my money back. And I will be posting this review everywhere I can find until I do!
Paid for overnight shipping and received 5 days later...worthless customer service.
Life long cigar smoker, 50+ years. JR has terrible customer service. They packed 3 orders with cigars lose in large box with items like humidor, promo knife and such beating cigars up. They wiped quite a few auction wins from my account within an hour of winning, I feel ripped off by jr cigar. I'll never buy from them again. Cigarbid is awesome.
Today I am having my second Oliva Melanio 50th anniversary , what a nice medium body cigar ,I have smoked cigars for more than 30 years ,I have smoked 1 dollar crap cigars , 5 dollars crap cigars in 25 bucks crap cigars ,1 dollar very good cigars ,10 dollar excellent cigars... My very best in ever are some that Don Carlos Fuente gifted to me , 2 ten packs , in the late 90s. (Still have 5).. but this are the ones he smoked and this were never for sale ,always a gift from him if you had a conversation he liked . With that in mind I would say this cigars are a solid 7 in my book ,but I am spoiled by Habanos aged and rare I bought 3 boxes of this for long time aging ,will bet that they will turn beautiful . So far very good draw, nice even burn , no leather and spices and crap that reviewers love to mention. Good solid well care for tabaco well rolled and good looking ,this cigar by other brand would be15 bucks ,if you find them like me on sale ,do your self a favor and buy a few.
Stay Away!!! Order placed on the weekend. Order not filled until Wed following week and told shipping would take 3-8 bus days. Called Cust Svs and their response is we're sorry, "we don't know what's going on with fullfilment" - "we just take the orders", no assistance provided or resolution offered. I will NEVER order from this place again. Go to Best Price Cigars, they are much more responsive and ship within 24 hours.
The cigars and prices are OK. You can find better usually. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE EMAIL LIST!!! I have been unsubscribing to try to get off it for the last 10 days and today I received 6 e-mails. I have been a long time customer, and accidentally subscribed during checkout. Now I am blocking all emails from their domain and they will have to loose my business because that I won’t be receiving any of their mails. It’s ok. Customer service and quality have gone downhill over the last few years…
I just started ordering from Jr cigars I order the c-notes mini, I have never had any issues my package comes in two days, the cigars are fresh and nothing is wrong with the packaging it's been about 2 months now Happy Customer here 😊😊.
If you read the negative reviews for JR Cigars you will notice that they all have to do with shipping. Something that is largely out of their hands - and if you notice the shipping complaint dates, they are all during this pandemic - when shipping has been an issue for everything because of higher demand for it! Generally shipping through their standard shipment option, which is free if you sign up for their premium service, I have always received my package within a week. It is a shame to see their negative feedback when they offer really great cigars, and a very reasonable rate! JR Cigars offers a number of discounted options for purchasing premium cigars, or even cheapo's to share at large gatherings. Not only do they offer an auction option, where you can get cigars at crazy cheap rates - but they offer new deals on assortment bundles constantly. Not only that, but if you are a First Responder, or Veteran, like myself, you get an additional 10% off. I just got their October special of 40 PREMIUM cigars, and after the additional discount and free shipping, paid $62 bucks! That's like $1.50 a cigar! And these are not cheap ones. They offer these deals constantly. Every order my cigars have been well maintained, and the large review base from other JR Cigar members has let me know almost exactly what I'm purchasing and what to expect. Only thing that I could possibly find to complain about, and it's not an issue, was they send out a ton of emails when you shop with them. But once you click the "unsubscribe" button on any of the emails, they stop - with the exception of notifying you regarding update with their order. Don't let these other reviews about individual shipping issues, which I highly doubt are all JR Cigars doing, discourage you from trying these guys out. I've had nothing but a great experience from them, and their customer service has been very prompt, helpful, and effective for any problems I've had.
The worst online cigar retailer. They lie about delivery times and options. Their customer service is extremely unreliable and lie to the customer. I called JR cigar on Friday Sept 10 to order this for a trip to Florida leaving Sept 16. I asked tustomer service what method of shipping would get this to me in time for my trip as it was my responsibility to provide the cigars for the company executives. I ordered this travel humidor, a second humidor, boveda packs, and cigars . They said UPS 2nd day air. would DEFINITELY get it to me on time if I ordered by Sept 14. I placed the order Sept 13 and checked off UPS 2nd day air as per their suggestion. Extremely disappointed that my order arrived on Sept 20, after I had already returned from Florida. What an embarrassing trip as the only 1 thing that 1 needed to do right was derailed by JR Cigar. I called them Sept 20 and they acted like they couldn't care less and offered "25% off YOUR NEXT ORDER". Who in their right mind would order from JR Cigar "next time" if they can't even get the order right the first time. I asked them if they would make any concession for THIS ORDER WHICH THEY SCREWED UP but they gave me the cold shoulder and said "send it back if you are unsatisfied". Wow! What absolutely horrific customer service. Doesn't get any worse than this. They don't give a rats a$$ about their customers. JR Cigar thinks that if you send the order back and they return your money, then that rights their wrong. They have no intention of establishing a relationship between them and their customers. JR Cigar is just a greedy, online cigar retailer. There are lots of better cigar retailers that actually offer decent customer service and not the sorry excuse of customer service that JR cigar offers.
Let me start my review by saying, I have been a JR Cigar customer for over a decade. With that said, I was duped into purchasing their flat rate $39.99 annual shipping program. Let me just say, those were the slowest method they could have possibly conceived. After the first year, they asked if I wanted to renew and I let them know under no uncertain terms, NO! Since then, I've been trying to be patient as possible with the orders. The entire year 2020 the excuse was, we're suffering from the pandemic. What's the excuse 2021? Which brings me to today's complaint. I placed an order over 2 weeks ago with expedited shipping, contacted 3 customer service representative oh, one more nonchalant in the next. When calling today, the lady tells me that the box was at my door. I was literally standing at my door. Now I have to do the legwork and track them through USPS. I just wanted to cancel my order, would not let me do it. Again, over 10 years as a customer and thousands of dollars spent. My only advice to you buyer beware! I will be finding another provider for my cigar needs.

The next day I wanted to use the coupon it was declined, so I called customer service and inquired why the coupon was declined. After being on the phone for almost 20 minutes this was their answer: We don't accept coupons on items we discounted already. When I said there was nothing written or stated on the coupon regarding use or exceptions, I was told that's the way it is." Practically every item would be on sale at JR Cigars the state the retail price and then how much you save with their price. Example: Retail Price$238.80 JR Price$195.87 You Save$42.93 The coupon seems like a bait and switch nothing more. This was written on the coupon without a disclaimer or restrictions regarding its use. When placing an order online using a birthday code that was emailed to me, when I confirmed my order in addition to the cigars I ordered I was to receive, 2 coffee cups, 2 espresso cups & an ash tray. These items were all listed when I was asked to confirm my order, which I did. When the order confirmation email arrived the ash tray & espresso cups were not listed. I called and spoke to Rebecca. She told me because I used the birthday code the other items were removed. I requested that the order be canceled, she told me that the warehouse already printed the order and it could not be canceled. I asked for a supervisor and she disconnected the call when I told her I was not happy with her performance.
Made an order on 12/14/20. Received an email that my order was shipped on 12/15/20. Today is 12/22 and no package, no update and customer service is of no help. According to the tracking number included in the 12/15 email, the package has never been shipped. It is still showing in Pre-Shipment status. This is the 2nd time I have had a similar problem with this company but will very likely be the last. They have lost another loyal customer.

What happened to JR Cigars? I placed an order for a package on December 6th. I paid close to 30$ extra for priority mail. The package was stated to be arriving on December 9th. It is December 16th as I write this. As you can guess, my package never arrived. Thus far it has been stuck in pre-shipment. This is completely unprecedented. Over the last several years, I have ordered with priority shipping, and it was worth the extra dollar. I don't know what happened, but something has gone terribly wrong with JR Cigars. When I contacted them in regards to this matter, I was lied to by a representative, who tried to pin the blame on USPS, and claim that it was their fault. This is a blatant lie, as USPS confirmed that that they had never received my package. The worst part about this is that I can't even get a refund until my package arrives, or so JR cigars claims. I cannot afford to feed myself, let alone afford return postage. I will no be ordering from JR Cigars, as it is abundantly clear that they are no longer reliable or trustworthy, and I strongly urge anyone who reads this to do the same. What a year 2020 has been. Due to shipping delays, it has cause JR Cigars to revise our return policy due to carrier delays. We will now only process reshipments of products and process credit return request only after 14 business days from the shipping date. This has been a very challenging year and we want to wish you and your families a happy and healthy holiday season. Regards, JR Cigars ~~~~~~~~ What this is, is another blatant attempt at passing the blame to USPS. I have reviewed the details of this case with them, and they have confirmed that they have not received a package in my name. To add insult to insult, JR Cigars is not only lying about the status of my shipment, but are refusing a refund until the package has shipped to me, and is then returned by me. It also says in the message above, plain as day that they won't refund the returned product until fourteen days after it was returned. This is a scam, designed to steal money from customers, and absolve JR Cigars of any and all personal responsibility. It is not honest, nor profesional, and I will be pursuing legal recourse to the utmost extent of the law until this matter is resolved. I strongly advise anyone who has been exploited by this fallacy masquerading as a reputable company, to do the same.
