Tech support failure

I have been using iDrive for several years to backup our desktop and laptop PC. I have generally been quite happy with the product until now. Seven weeks ago iDrive started failing during online backup of one particular 256MB file. After many interactions with support they referred it to their "backend team". There has been no progress and not a word. I ping them every week and get the same response. I've had to resort to a local backup which I then copy to Google Drive. I will note that this is about 20X faster than IDrive online backup.

So far I am happy with iDrive.

I have only begun using iDrive. I have used other backup systems which seemed confusing to me so that I was never sure I was doing it correctly. So far, I like iDrive because it has a user-friendly interface for someone not really computer-savvy. I can back up to my external hard drive as well as the cloud, both backups can be accessed readily. I can backup on demand or on a pre-selected schedule. I have not yet tried the restore function. I have not yet made a mirror image of my computer, but to back up all my personal data took about 3 hours. Incremental backups take a few minutes. So far I am happy and have recommended iDrive to two people in my life.

Great Introductory Offer & User Friendly…

I got a great introductory offer and the software is more user friendly than the Acronis package I replaced it with. Understandably, the first full backup took a long time. But the second was completed in just five minutes as only amended or new files were needed.

Overall a great backup solution that…

Overall a great backup solution that can backup my synology nas, and my pc. It sends a daily report for peace of mind and is very easy to use. Highly recommended!

IDrive fits the bill...

I am using IDrive to have a cloud backup of the most critical files on my NAS. For my particular NAS, there is a dedicated app to handle the backup jobs, and it is straightforward and had me up and running in 1 hour. It has lots of storage, is fast, and is reasonably priced.

Worked great in a pinch

I’ve had to use iDrive in the past to locate missing files, probably accidentally deleted by a family member. Fortunately this service worked just as I had hoped and I was able to restore the files without too much complication.

Customer Service is great!

I have just added IDrive to one of my PC's. I don't really know enough about how it is working yet. But I had an issue with the initial download. I sent a service request for help. A representative called me and did an excellent job finding and correcting the problem. It seems to me that if I do run into a future problem, their first-class agents will take care of it quickly and completely.

I have found IDrive useful and easy to work with so far. There were a few non-intuitive elements to setup (the fixed name of the IDrive Sync folder being one) and a few desired additional features (such as SFTP or FTP access to files), but, all in all, the service is a good buy for the price.

Fast but wonky apps

I'm been using idrive for around a week. I must say the download and upload speed is amazing. The only downside is its platform applications. It took me a few days before understanding how to use them. Even so, they are not the best in class apps.

Overall works well, but needs higher size limit.

My experience with iDrive has been primarily positive. Uploads are quick compared to another service I had tested. So I settled on iDrive. I have been uploading quite a bit, and so far so good, except for 1 caveat. There's a 2GB limit on files uploaded. For the most part, that's not a problem, but, I do commercial video work. So files get big. My camera allows files up to 4GB in size. And while it's rare, I go over the 2GB limit no more than 5% of the time. So that's up to 5% of my footage that I can't backup. Other than that, I haven't had any real problems, it's been performing well so far.

As a new idrive user, and being unfamiliar with the interface, I needed assistance setting up a new backup. My question was answered very quickly and accurately. I am very pleased with the high quality support I have received so far.
