Tech support failure

I have been using iDrive for several years to backup our desktop and laptop PC. I have generally been quite happy with the product until now. Seven weeks ago iDrive started failing during online backup of one particular 256MB file. After many interactions with support they referred it to their "backend team". There has been no progress and not a word. I ping them every week and get the same response. I've had to resort to a local backup which I then copy to Google Drive. I will note that this is about 20X faster than IDrive online backup.

So far I am happy with iDrive.

I have only begun using iDrive. I have used other backup systems which seemed confusing to me so that I was never sure I was doing it correctly. So far, I like iDrive because it has a user-friendly interface for someone not really computer-savvy. I can back up to my external hard drive as well as the cloud, both backups can be accessed readily. I can backup on demand or on a pre-selected schedule. I have not yet tried the restore function. I have not yet made a mirror image of my computer, but to back up all my personal data took about 3 hours. Incremental backups take a few minutes. So far I am happy and have recommended iDrive to two people in my life.

Great Introductory Offer & User Friendly…

I got a great introductory offer and the software is more user friendly than the Acronis package I replaced it with. Understandably, the first full backup took a long time. But the second was completed in just five minutes as only amended or new files were needed.

Good Backup Services. A+

After researching a few days for cheap yet effective backup providers. I found idrive. Talked to them on their chat feature and was impressed with their quick responses. It Wasn't made Very clear to me that only when choosing the business option i would be able to make sub folders for other members, thus when signing up, chose the personal option. I can still back up multiple devices on this but they are visible to all, on all devices. First impression of idrive is that it's very easy to setup up. I like that i can restore all files from the app straight to the device within seconds. Thus not clogging up my phone memory. I can also view them direct from the app too aswell as desktop. I also believe that they don't hold any of your data to do as they please work it -like Google. I hope that they will not increase the price for the next few years. I really wanted to get away from Googles stronghold of everything. good job idrive. Loving it so far.

First impressions of iDrive

I needed an easy, cost-effective backup solution for my home system which included external drives and a NAS system. The solution that I was with couldn't do this and following some research I came across IDrive. The price was reasonable and so I have given it a go. So far so good. Integration of the NAS took a few minutes which I was impressed by. While not lightning fast, it is better than my previous provider. I also like the ability to keep a local backup copy as I live in Australia and getting drives shipped around the world would not be an easy process.

Charged without authorization

Honestly, would give lower starts, but apparently, that's not possible. I cancelled my account a year ago. They then this year charged me for it, which they didn't even give an email notification about this charge; I attempted to contact their support, but they said they could not give a refund because it was over 30 days since the charge; the charge was on the 31st August 2022, it is not 1st September 2022, I'm not the best at maths, but that's not 30 days difference. Wouldn't recommend the service to anyone; they like to scam you out of money- and delete your data without knowledge. --------- REPLY Hi, I tried that about 10 times, got absolutely nowhere and non of your staff clearly passed maths- the 30th of august 2022 was not more than 30 days ago. I won't contact you unless you are giving me a refund. I'm going to wait for my bank to get back in touch with a chargeback

So far so good. Reached out to support and they gave me some quick and helpful advice. Works well on my macbook pro. The backup takes quite a while, but I do have over 1TB of data to backup

Great product, easy to use does what it promises.

Great for backup. One less star because UI can be more user friendly specially for the android app. Altogether I find it easy to sync files and there was not much problem moving from other cloud services. kudos to iDrive team for keeping the drive secure as well. Just make the UI bit more intuitive and I am going to stay for quite a while :)

Installed to backup 3 machines. OK

Installed to backup 3 machines. One under Linux (Manjaro 350 Go), one Mac (10.12) and one Win10 PC. For the moment everything is going well for backup. The upload speed is very fast (I have 500 Mb fiber). I had 25 MB up on the IDrive. The interface is quite easy to understand. It's a pity that there is no way to recover other than through the Web to recover from another machine. To see in time.
