Tech support failure

I have been using iDrive for several years to backup our desktop and laptop PC. I have generally been quite happy with the product until now. Seven weeks ago iDrive started failing during online backup of one particular 256MB file. After many interactions with support they referred it to their "backend team". There has been no progress and not a word. I ping them every week and get the same response. I've had to resort to a local backup which I then copy to Google Drive. I will note that this is about 20X faster than IDrive online backup.

So far I am happy with iDrive.

I have only begun using iDrive. I have used other backup systems which seemed confusing to me so that I was never sure I was doing it correctly. So far, I like iDrive because it has a user-friendly interface for someone not really computer-savvy. I can back up to my external hard drive as well as the cloud, both backups can be accessed readily. I can backup on demand or on a pre-selected schedule. I have not yet tried the restore function. I have not yet made a mirror image of my computer, but to back up all my personal data took about 3 hours. Incremental backups take a few minutes. So far I am happy and have recommended iDrive to two people in my life.

Great Introductory Offer & User Friendly…

I got a great introductory offer and the software is more user friendly than the Acronis package I replaced it with. Understandably, the first full backup took a long time. But the second was completed in just five minutes as only amended or new files were needed.

As the story goes...

As the story goes, I didn't have a back up and lost some important work. I looked at a few different apps and Idrive had the best options for my needs. Their price was reasonable for multiple devices. Easy to set up.

Pretty straight forward interface

Pretty straight forward interface. Lots of storage compared to other cloud options on the net. It's a bit of a different workflow compared to something like google drive, especially in renaming the folders and re-organizing them. But I hear there's some workarounds.

Easily able to do true archiving

I was looking for a solution to do true archiving, i.e. keep backed up files, including those which are no longer present on my computer, available forever. Alternative providers like Backblaze will only keep deleted files for 30 days which is hardly a helpful solution when you want to reuse a camera memory card, for example. IDrive promises true archiving. I'm very satisfied with the ease of use so far and the price is definitely acceptable.

This service is extremely easy to use

This service is extremely easy to use. It took me less than 10 minutes to get everything set up for me to set up my account and start the cloud backup process. The pricing is also very affordable since I have multiple TB of data needing storage. I highly recommend iDrive for anyone lookin for an easy and affordable service to perform cloud backup.

It was supposed to be incredibly easy

It was supposed to be incredibly easy. Not so much! It can be super confusing and is not as drop and load as they claim it is. And it took over 24 hours for my first backup to run. I understand that I have a lot of music...but really? Over an entire day???

Best value for cloud backup and storage

I love that the subscription doesn't limit how many devices or versions of files are backed up. I like that I can sync files between devices which is great when working in my home office or switching to my phone or laptop on the go. My work stays with me. The restore option is quick and painless. I like the clear pricing model which saves me a lot of money vs other options that tease you in, then charge you for features and versioning later when you need them.
