Tech support failure

I have been using iDrive for several years to backup our desktop and laptop PC. I have generally been quite happy with the product until now. Seven weeks ago iDrive started failing during online backup of one particular 256MB file. After many interactions with support they referred it to their "backend team". There has been no progress and not a word. I ping them every week and get the same response. I've had to resort to a local backup which I then copy to Google Drive. I will note that this is about 20X faster than IDrive online backup.

So far I am happy with iDrive.

I have only begun using iDrive. I have used other backup systems which seemed confusing to me so that I was never sure I was doing it correctly. So far, I like iDrive because it has a user-friendly interface for someone not really computer-savvy. I can back up to my external hard drive as well as the cloud, both backups can be accessed readily. I can backup on demand or on a pre-selected schedule. I have not yet tried the restore function. I have not yet made a mirror image of my computer, but to back up all my personal data took about 3 hours. Incremental backups take a few minutes. So far I am happy and have recommended iDrive to two people in my life.

Great Introductory Offer & User Friendly…

I got a great introductory offer and the software is more user friendly than the Acronis package I replaced it with. Understandably, the first full backup took a long time. But the second was completed in just five minutes as only amended or new files were needed.

Really fraudulent company..

Really fraudulent company... They took my money without notice and don't want to refund. Very unfair relationship with us clients. And services are also on low level. The worst of the worst ..

Switched from Crash Plan - Great move

Have been using a competitor for several years. Prices kept increasing and backups became progressively more complicated. After finally reaching a point, I could not longer even back up with the service I was using. I did my research and decided to try IDrive. Within 10 minutes I was backing up my files. The upload time was fast and I could see all my backed up files. For comparison, the competitor just indicated I had a backup set of a certain size. Even after the introductory offer, I will be paying less than I was with my old service. Wished I switched a long time ago.

Affordable backup and good functionality

I had about 15,000 sets of photos that needed backup. and started looking for a cloud storage solution that I could use. Came across an article that listed iDrive as one of the most affordable storage per dollar service available, signed up immediately and so far, no issues have been encountered. Will definitely look into extending the subscription once it expires.

Quick support, good speed, excellent cost.

Quick support. This is good. Disk space are plenty and price is excellent. Backup and recover scripts work, even thou they are not very user-friendly (in Linux I use CLI scripts in Pearl). Web interface is quite poor, but still workable. (But I could not find how to download an entire folder when using web interface. I only have been able to download file by file.) Neither interface (web or CLI) is intuitive. You have to read and try a lot untill things work (but they do eventually work). Upload and download speeds are not lightning fast, but still quite acceptable (also, to be fair, effective speed do not depend on their side alone). But again, considering the cost, I still think it is worthwhile to have it. When the time comes, I will most certainly renew my subscription.

Easy to be used but very slow to upload photos and videos from the mobile device. From the desktop and NAS server, the experience was better since the upload process finished in weeks. CL

The most economical online backup…

The most economical online backup system. I love it that I can back up all my devices under same account. And the sync drive makes it extra easy to access my files across all my devices. I switched from dropbox to idrive and what I used to pay per month for Dropbox, now I pay per 2 years. It’s a huge difference.

IDrive Customer for life.

This has been a great tool to backup my DVDs to an online storage. It is a very affordable option with a very generous option for online storage size. The price point is very affordable as well. The program itself is very easy to understand and the UI is very informative and easy to setup quickly. It also has quite a nice set of options if some modifications are needed. The email and logging is also very good.
